Plus no America means no Energy Weapons and Power Armor and we just can't have that now can we?

Yes you can, two area's in Fact.
Canada, which we took over, And China, where we landed large numbers of troops.
In fact China would make a neat place for a game to take place in see if the US and PLA troops sat aside political issues or if the war still wages. But I ment in other contexts by my request. Such as some rumors or military satcom information etc.
As an edit I know the Chinese made Stealth Tech, but didn't they have some laser/plasma weapons?

Actually, Fallout 3 being set on the East Coast was one of few pieces of news that was considered good by the hardcore Fallout fans because it would allow Beth to introduce their own factions and stuff and not mess up what had been established on the West Coast. Of course, Bethesda then re-used a lot of stuff from the older games anyways.

It would be set in Europe between the war of the Euro Commonwealth and the Middle East. Basically, he'd like it to be Battlefield in the Fallout setting.
That would actually be pretty fun as a multiplayer FPS game. Vehicles, salvaging, crude prototypes of Power Armor, etc etc. A D-Day map with prototypical Power Armor, Vertibirds, laser weapons... Sounds like good shooting fun. If a little Halo-ish.

this, and to everyone talking about a world wide Fallout game, its called fallout extreme, going by that, the Chinese made an empire based on the Han dynasties and alike.mrcrusty wrote...
J E Sawyer (Lead Designer on Van Buren & New Vegas) has mentioned repeatedly that he'd like a Fallout: Resource Wars spinoff game.

Makes me think that in the long run, Bethesda picking up the franchise would do a lot less damage to it. I mean, looking at the storyline of Fallout Extreme just wants to make me gag. Forget Fallout 3 not carrying logic, Fallout 3 is about as Fallout as Fallout 1 in comparison.
Bethesda! Promise me you won't make games like Brotherhood of Steel or Extreme and all is forgiven!
Makes me glad that the project was dropped and isn't canon. It's not the type of game that makes me glad that it never came into existence, it's how they basically smack the lore beyond any form of logic. The Chicago BoS from tactics suddenly controls all the land in the U.S outside of the West Coast, all the way to Alaska?
Why would the Chinese still be hostile? They'd be in just as bad shape as the US, if not worse. The Shi seemed to be able to play fine without going total war on the West Coast, despite descending from the survivors of a Chinese Naval sub...

I really doubt the Shi were Altruistic. It's a good thing things apparently went bad for them and were forced to integrate with the NCR

Well, I agree but what I'm getting at is the idiocy of a lot of things mentioned in Fallout Extreme. Why would the Chinese have already rebuilt the entire country and why would they still want to destroy America? Granted, Fallout 2, 3 and New Vegas have their share of logic holes, but the synopsis of Extreme was absolutely awful.

Then again I don't hate fallout like you seem to.
I never said I hate Fallout. Quite the opposite, I'm really enjoying Fallout 3. A very good game. I'm tempted to say it's better than Dragon Age: Origins, but I haven't finished it yet. It's only the DLCs that I've played so far that are really low quality.(Off the top of my head)
I suspect that I will enjoy New Vegas even more, since it has some of the game industry's best writers on the development team. Just hope the DLC is worth the money.(40 USD for all the DLC)
Well to give you an idea how high I hold Point Lookout.... My favorite moment in all of Fallout 3 happened in that DLC you hate.

I haven't played Point Lookout yet, but I've enjoyed all the other FO3 DLCs a lot. I had forgotten, having put the game down for eons to play Origins, what a decent sized, quality DLC is like, then went back to Fallout recently and played Mothership Zeta for the first time. Operation: Anchorage is my favorite and not many like it, so YM definitely MV.
FNV, story-wise, was extremely lacking IMO. I could care less who runs Vegas. The final battle was so underwhelming I had to force myself to play through it. I'm not sure why people tout the writing over Fallout 3's.
About the Lamplight kids- I assumed they were orphans that the kids picked up on their scavenging trips.
O:A I actually enjoyed more than most, though the main highlight was the gear you got at the end, Mothership Zeta bored me to tears and Point Lookout did feel like a decent expansion as did Broken Steel.
As for New Vegas I enjoyed the story a lot more than 3, more because I got hyped up for NV before it came out although I personally find both games fairly equal in terms of gameplay.
I actually just played through Anchorage for the second time last night... Couldn't get through it fast enough. If it weren't for the awesome ninja armor and rifle I wouldn't have bothered. I like the concept of a video game inside a video game but it takes the core thing that made Fallout 3 so great IMHO (RPGing) and just toss it out the window. When everyone's calling you a he and your playing as a female there is no way I can enjoy it. Hell I play it as a first person shooter as I forget VATS is there because spray and pray is all you need.
As for Zeta I liked it quite a bit. Ironically the reason I like it is sorta the reason I can't stand Operation Anchorage. It takes everything we know about Fallout and tosses it inside out but in a good way. To be clear the aliens are tough and VATS is never forgotten. A nice change of pace from the wasteland and I'm behind this. Sure its linear as hell but IMO the good outweigh the bad.
I haven't played Broken Steel yet but Pitt was pretty good too. One of the hardest choices to make is in this a real moral dillema. Could do without the lame fetch side quest though.

Many people love Broken Steel but I think it must be because of the removal of the ending. I didn't particularly care for that (I like that games end, I just didn't like *how* F3 ended) and the content is subpar. Just a lot of combat mainly, and more bullet-sponge enemies.
Given that the New Vegas DLCs will raise the level caps, I really fear that we'll see bullet sponge enemies in them too. I really hope they can avoid that somehow.
I didn't really care for the Ghost People in Dead Money lore-wise but I think they were a lot of fun to fight.

Revenge.
I mean they got the **** nuked out of them.
Its like Germany getting beaten in WW1, we seen how well that went over. Because someone is beaten doesn't mean they won't hit back later. Though Someone is making a Fallout RTS mod for CNC Generals so far Enclave VS BoS. Won't be surprised to see the NCR thrown in though. As to your issue, it never states how far the Chinese rebuilt, its like the NCR is considerd very stable and "rebuilt" yet even 20th Century Nations are stronger. But FE was a bad game and screwed things up. Still would like to see a story in China. Or even a multi factional RTS thats in the Far future showing factions that survived etc.
As to Fallout 3 expansions.
Didn't much like the Pitt, damn zombie's. But I handed the kid over, I just made it clear if they did anything to her I'ld be back to slaughter them all.
Point lookout, loved it Funny it doesn't even take place in the deep south. And it had alot of funny easter eggs, loved getting into the sub as well, wish there was more to do it in, the mansion defense was great too.
Zeta, liked it a bit...never felt right with killing the Samurai and taking his armor, though I WANT that damn armor. The weapons given I didn't put many points into e/w were useless to me short of selling fodder.
Oh yeah O/A It was rather neat playing it, seeing parts of the war. Actully its too bad we don't have a game set in that time. Showing all the tech and how they used to live, and how it all went wrong.
Broken Steel overall felt more like a side mission than an expansion. looking forward to seeing what we get next for Fallout NV.

While awful, it did sound somewhat interesting, I do want to see the post-war chinese.

I never noticed the gender bending. I love the setting and yeah I did kind of play it as a shooter. I mostly play sniper characters and it gave lots of satisfying opportunities to pick off people on distant cliffs. Plus I just like all that militaristic booyah bull****.Rockworm503 wrote...

The Pitt was depressing but all around quite satisfying. Gah, those trogs are creepy as hell, and the vista of wasteland Pittsburgh, awesome. You had lots of varied challenges and an interesting dilemma. It's probably my 2nd favorite (not having played Point Lookout yet).I haven't played Broken Steel yet but Pitt was pretty good too. I also didn't like Broken Steel. It's one of the best F3 DLCs because it lets you continue on, but imo the main story itself didn't make much sense. The Enclave? Again? And they somehow had a huge AF base which was even more powerful and advanced than the Raven Rock base, had more powerful guys, an orbital laser weapon and somehow they just forgot to show up at the big battle at the end of F3? Wha?
IMO what would've been really cool is if they made the Talon Company into the primary antagonist. The Brotherhood could've had LP malfunction or something and with the Brotherhood weakened, the TC could've taken control over water supply, harassing caravans and merchants, etc.
IDK, maybe that would be crap, but I really wanted Bethesda to expand and flesh out the factions they made, because the TC and Commonwealth are really interesting. Rather than shoehorning the old ones without logic just so they can say "look! Enclave! It's Fallout!"
