They should just have a system where they utilise the simple Very Easy/Easy/Average/Hard/Very Hard system they've currently got. Then, they should make each attempt waste 0-3 bobby pins depending on skill level comparative to the lock level. Along with perks to modify such rates.

Top-down skill check. Average Locks don't open unless you've got 50 Lockpick, then it's a 100% success rate but the higher over 50 your lockpick is, the less likely you are to waste multiple (if any) bobby pins.

There's a mod that does something similar to this (Real Time Entry Skills), but it conflicts with a bigger, more important mod I've got...

<_<

Didn't see this post till now. I hated those damn kids at Lamplight Cavern. I wanted to shoot them a few times. Smart ass brat, had the nerve to shoot at me. And that "Princess" nevermind all the rest.

Hopefully Obsidian will be developing it as well.

If anyone else is disappointed about how small and generally crappy The Strip was, I'd highly suggest to download the New Vegas Restoration Mod:

http://www.newvegasn...le.php?id=35100

Made a youtube video walking through the new and improved Strip:

Looks good. Does it fix the bugs? My followers always get stuck in the Strip, esp the Lucky 38.

Once I get the PC version, I'm going to DESTROY that place. ^_~

No idea, but it doesn't change any of the interior cells (Lucky 38).

I wish I could really, saved those two kids from slavers for nothing, and I get shot at for my troubles.  Ah well speaking of New Vegas, I just got around to playing the DLC and I have to say, Dead money just pissed me off, from the unclear manner of ending it, to the bomb collar and having to shoot the speakers or run like hell, the holograms, just so much in that DLC I didn't like. More so the fact I can't go back and pick up all the crap I missed.

On the other hand I liked Honest Hearts quite alot however. More pick ups, useful items at that, etc. Can't wait to get my hands on Old World Blues, I want that additional 5 levels myself. But oh well.

The update adds the 5 levels, you don't need the DLC. Click on the links on my above post.

SAVE US IN THE NAME OF SCIENCE!

lol

The trailer was really weird, certainly living up to the dark humour element they mentioned in the earlier interview.

FALLOUT IS BACK!!! Awesome trailer that totally takes up the dark humour that was in Fallout: 2. Reminds me of playing chess against that scorpion. I can totally tell that Chris Avellone wrote that DLC since he really brought the in your face humour to the Fallout world with number 2. Anyways, looks like Lonesome Roads is coming up soon everyone is probably waiting with great anticipation for Ulysses tale and "when the two Couriers battle under an old world flag." Sounds so very epic!

Haha. Yeah, Chris Avellone, that crazy bastard seems to have gone full Fallout 2 with this DLC. Looks like they didn't hold back with the humor or the Retro Sci-Fi motif, either.

"Save us all, in the name of Science... please?"

I think this will be an instant buy from me.

yep that is a weird one.

I would have liked to have seen a few epic landscape shots, as it was my impression Old World Blues was going to open up this huge expanse of terrain. Instead, nearly everything in that trailer was a cramped interior shot.

"The residents of the Mojave have long assumed the trackless wastes of the ‘Big Empty’ are a no-man's-land, a desolate stretch where no living thing can survive. In Old World Blues, you discover that it is anything but...

After being transported to the Big MT research crater, you find you're the only hope of saving the Think Tank – the strange group of post-human researchers who inhabit the facility. They enlist your aid to save them from their own experiments - experiments that have gone horribly out of control.

As you explore the huge stretch of the Big MT crater and its many underground labs, you’ll confront strange mutated animals, battle terrifying new atomic robots, and discover a new home base to call your own. Recover all the weapons, armor, and tech of the Pre-War era and use them to help save all of science!"

So far, I was looking forward to some DLC with deep story and interesting NPCs and quest choices; however, Dead Money seems to be more of a survival horror action setpiece and Honest Hearts (at least from the reviews I read) failed to deliver on the promise of more interesting quests and story elements.

I would say that Dead Money is what you're talking about. Deep story, interesting NPCs and plenty of quest choices. It just happens to have the survival horror motif. Chris Avellone has been saying that a game he recently enjoyed was Amnesia... so that probably inspired part of it.

But I think Old World Blues will drive some narrative points, particularly regarding Ulysses and Elijah. I think the type of DLC you're waiting for though is Lonesome Road. Which I'm pretty hyped up for, myself.

Wat

I think I'll pass.

@naughty99:  I really liked Honest Hearts.  It was what prompted me to get Dead Money, which was not so much my thing, and to re-play FNV.  I'm having more fun on my 2nd run than I did on my first and appreciating the game more.

good to hear - I bought Honest Hearts and Dead Money, but haven't visited either area in-game yet.

BTW are there any good quest mods?

And has anyone tried Arwen's Realism Tweaks for FNV?
