Neither game is out so one can't really say. All I know is that I'd only buy one of those games and its KOTOR 3.

I'd rather have KOTOR 3, preferably also preceded by Current Generation remakes of the first two games, but seeing as KOTOR 3 is currently listed as a canceled project it's not likely.
Strangely, according to the Wiki page, KOTOR 3 was originally essentially going to be a companion game to Galaxies. How that could be a follow up to a game that took place 6000 years before the Galaxies story I don't know.

I cancel things and begin them later ... so KOTOR III should remain 'canceled' forever? that is bull****.
KOTOR III is the the dream of one third of members hier

I would rather LucasArts did KotOR3, but I don't know who'd do it. I doubt Obsidian would want to work with LucasArts again, inXile are a small studio - There's not a lot of available studios around with RPG expertise.
I think TOR could do well, and it could be a good game, but the market is flooded with MMOs (WAR, DAoC, UO, WoW, RoM, EQ, EQ2, SW:G, STO, AoC and so forth), and I think adding one more is relatively pointless. I wouldn't be surprised if TOR did brilliantly, but I also wouldn't be surprised if its impact on the market was absolutely nothing, and it was resigned to an MMO with a only 1-2 million subs on average.

I want KOTOR 3 the most, especially if bioware made it. I like RPG's much better than I like MMO's but i'm looking forward to TOR too.

I generally dislike MMO's but that is mainly for their blatant disregard of anything resembling a story (and the idiots that make up most of the communities) I actually find a lot of the gameplay fun apart from pointless grinding. I'm willing to give TOR a fair shot especially with all the promoting their doing with the story.

I want TOR. I dislike MMO's in general. Like Slientmode said, for their lack of story. Since TOR will have story, I have high hopes for the game.
Also, I don't see why there'd have to be a new Kotor. A new Star Wars RPG I wouldn't mind, not at all, but why Kotor? It's not as if there's a lot of story to follow up on, especially since it seems that TOR will tie up some loose ends.
With no real story to continue, it seems pointless to call it "kotor" for any other reason than marketing. I would rather see an enitrely new game, that doesn't try to be some half-hearted sequel. Something new.

kotor III by Obsidian, so that we can see what Revan was doing at the galaxy's edge. Unlikely to happen however, along with BG III:black hound, it's one of those sequels fans will always want to see but probably never will.

Why not have both, I wouldn't mind if Obsidian made III, if they have more time than the were given with II. Then Bioware can make TOR and everyones happy.

agreed wi8th pwnzor but Obsidian may be bankrupt by now for all we know but i think TOR is the 3rd KotOR no offense to anyone but it is a high possiblity since KotOR II gives hints from the hologram message inside T3 and Darth Traya.

So when do we get the SWTOR discussion forum, anyway ?
I like MMOs for their social aspect. I get bored of any singleplayer game after 2 months, no matter how good it is. A good MMO like Vanguard, I can play for years. Sadly Vanguard failed because of lack of players - its no fun to play an empty MMO.
SWTOR seems to be a "singleplayer MMO" so I kinda fail to see how I can get motivated to play it for more than 2 months. But we'll see how that goes.

KOTOR 3. I am actually dumbfounded that this game was never created. The 2nd one clearly hinted at a huge story to be told (a la Revan/Exile) and yet..... nothing. Instead we get.... ANOTHER MMO? Ooooookaaaaayyy. I just simply do not care what kind of hype they spin, an MMO can NEVER create the same kind of single-player experience that KotOR deserves. I am not against BioWare doing an MMO, I can just not play it. But it's disgusting that their most beloved franchise is scrapped to make way for ANOTHER massively multiplayer online game. I was nearly in tears when I originally learned of this, and now it just infuriates me...

Uh-hu.
SWTOR got 150 Mio $ investment before release.
Knowing Bioware, that money got very likely very well spent.
I would definitely be very, very surprised if SWTOR couldnt rival any singleplayer game in delivered story quality.

kotor 3.
for me the "kotor" series ended with The Sith Lords. A MMO never delivers a good story in the end (wtf? what end!?) and never delivers a good "singleplayer expedience", there is always some teamwork mubo-jubo and that's excluding the ****ing fact that theres a monthy fee as well constant on-line connection required.
Some storys are better to be short/long.

Have you been living under a rock? KOTOR and KOTOR II PCs neither had any kind of conclusion and I'd consider II's ending a cliffhanger. And you're saying theres nothing to follow up on? There is PLENTY to tell in a new installment and I'd rather see continuation to Revan and the Jedi Exile than some new random hero in another game/timeline.
