heh, I would've personally preferred kotor 3 with another Joint Lucasarts / Bioware development, like The original was..but hey....there were so many questions unaswered: Where did Revan go, and why?...what was waiting beyond the rim?....did he/she survive?...and what befell the exile?....I don't wanna have to really buy an Mmo just to find that out...unless, Like all of the other Bioware games, it's going to be epic! :D

and on that note, this is an interesting point: "we got quite a bit of traction... we wrote a story, designed most of the environments/worlds, and many of the quests, characters, and items." However, when the game was close to starting development, LucasArts hit a difficult period in the company's history which led to the project being canceled."...but even so, wouldn't that time be passed?....couldn't they easily renew the old Kotor 3 story after the completion of TOR?....I dunno about anyone else but I'd like Bioware / LucasArts to at least consider it.... :)

You guys realize swtor IS kotor 3 right? and 4,5,6, etc. Bioware confirmed this. There WILL NOT be a single-player kotor 3. Besides, I'm really excited for swtor anyway. I would rather have this game than a sp rpg. This game is going to rock! Don't you trust Bioware? When have they ever disappointed you?

@Volus is the king: since we are all realizing, do you realize the story of revan have an important place in SW:ToR as you can see in the webcomic and some IG videos?

If I remember correctly, lucas art stopped giving their license to other studios after ToR so there will never be another kotor except if they do it themselves.

Yes, this.

The story of Revan will continue on in swtor. They even made a video about it here: http://www.swtor.com...ts-old-republic

So fans of kotor will not be left behind, they will be making sure this is a legitimate continuation of the series and the story.

KOTOR 3! I've been waiting years. With TOR in development, I doubt it will ever happen, it's nice to dream though.

The better question would be: TOR or nothing for years to come.

I'd rather have TOR with hundreds of hours of story driven gameplay.

Oh, I would like to have another KotOR but not by Bioware/EA with their current view on sequels. It would ruin the game if it would go the same way as Mass Effect or Dragon Age.

TOR might be a good game but as a MMO I won't play it...

I'd rather have kotor III, because I love the single player RPG experience. I don't mind the MMO in theory, but they're just *stressful*. Inevitably, you'll have to team up with people, who are then going to tell you how you *should* be playing your character, want to skip cutscenes, and detract from the story. Also, I want to know what happened to Revan and Exile, not play for a year to find out bits and pieces.

That said, I'll give TOR a try. If anyone has a chance at making an MMO worth playing, it'd be bioware.

I'd much prefer another single player KotOR game. while I do play WoW and have occasionally tried other mmo's I prefer single player games mostly so I can go at my own pace, play my own way and not have to worry about inconveniencing real people with real feelings. in a single player game I can play as the nice heroic do-gooder and again as the evil psycho and/or sarcastic jackass. in an mmo I'm stuck as nice

from what I've heard of TOR mmo it's looking like being more like a single player game where you can cross paths with other players, so in theory sounds like a possible compromise but in practice just means paying a subscription fee for a single player game

Since I hate MMOs I'd have prefered KOTOR III.

Unfortunaly it is possible for Revan and the Exile to appear* in this MMO.

*Which means to be killed by the players.

that's another reason I'd have preferred a single player game. single player can take into account what decisions we made in the previous games. multiplayer can't, since everyone would have contradictory decisions. so instead we're stuck with cannon that tells us that our choices had about as much consequence as any in DA2

I would've liked to see a KOTOR 3. I wont be getting TOR as I do not care for MMO's. Also, paying $60 for a game then having to pay monthly subscription fees is just too much money to spend on one game. I have a family to support. I can't justify spending that much money on a game.

Clients drop in price very, very quickly. It wouldn't surprise me if, four or five months after release, the client had dropped from £30 to £20. Even then, jumping onto an MMO as soon as it releases is never really a good idea  as it'll generally be a bit unstable and short on content. Best thing to do is wait six or so months for a number of patches to deply, and perhaps even some extra content. You'll also have a player base forming at that point, so the opportunities to get help in quests/dungeons will likely be greater. The monthly fee is also pretty damn good when you take a step back and look at what you're getting - You're paying the fraction of a cost of a new game for constant updates, support and content delivery. Whilst I understand you have a family to support, if you can't afford $15 a month then you've probably got bigger problems than worrying about MMOs.

Anyway, TOR or KotOR3? Probably TOR. If we got KotOR 3 it'd likely be made more action oriented and a multiplatform release (Which is generally a waste as consoles don't really work too well with MMOs. They seem to never hit the same level of success or popularity, plus it's not a practical thing to do), therefore we could argue that the quality of the game would potentially be reduced. At least an MMO (Even a more single-player oriented one like TOR will be) allows for a greater degree of class choice, progression, gameplay features and perhaps even character individualisation.

It's not that I can't afford $15 a month. I'm just saying that's too much to be spending on just 1 game. There's better things I could use that money on. Plus it limits the amount of money to use on buying more games. Also, I just don't care for MMOs. I don't want to have to be connected to the Internet and log into an account everytime just to play a game. Sometimes you just want to put the disc in and play. With MMOs, you have to lag (sometimes) or not being able to play at all due to it being down for maintenance. Singleplayer games are just better , IMO.

Apples and oranges. Just because you prefer one, it doesn't mean you're right. MMOs are not better than single player games, whether you think they are or not, they're different.
That's my point.

Well you have your opinion, and I have mine. That doesn't mean either of us are right or wrong because they are just opinions.
As Varric says, "Opinions are like testicles. Kick them hard enough, and it doesn't matter how many you have."
