Does this Character thing work for just DA:O? Because putting our Shep's in as a profile pic would be a good idea as well.
I was hoping to have my shepard on here as well, but sadly it only works for dragon age, but just barely. I haven't talked to more than a few people that it works properly for, and nobody is doing anything about it. I'm hoping that if everyone who has the problem finds this thread and makes it a nice big one, they'll have to pay attention and fix their crap. Or they could play the "This is a free service and doesn't affect the gameplay, stfu" card and either ignore us or state that they just don't care. either way.

This is a free service. It does not affect gameplay. Nowhere does it say otherwise.B10Reaper wrote...

And as for the last part, I never implied that it was a pay service or that it affected gameplay I was saying that they were going to ignore it for those facts.

- Moderators are community members selected by BioWare to enforce the site's rules, nothing more. They are in no way affiliated with BioWare. Most developers are not acting moderators because that's not what they're being paid for.
- What would you want the developers to say? "Yes, we still know that this is still a problem?" They are aware. They have been aware for a long time. The more hours they have to spend in here the less hours they have for actually fixing things. We are already getting regular updates, that has got to be enough.
- You must not have spent very much time in this particular forum.

Most of the time the mods are the messengers and representatives for Bioware. They let us know what's going on if nobody else does. If they happen to also be developers, then that's great, but they usually tell us that we have been heard and that's what I mean when I say that I would like to hear from them.

Where are these updates? I haven't seen them, I have yet to see a single update here besides more people with the same problem.
And an "Oh yeah? well... NYAHHH" to you too, good sir.Snoteye wrote...

I won't pretend I wasn't being snarky, but if I was wrong you would not have had to ask that question.B10Reaper wrote...

I also have the following errors :
1005 - Extra unexpected files uploaded for this character.
1002 - No avatar image uploaded from the game to the on-line storage server.
1003 - No portrait image uploaded from the game to the on-line storage server.
Since I cannot see uploaded files I really don't know which are these extra files.
Clicking on error codes only gives me the too generic FAQ page.

Is it just a mine sensation or the PC version is not affected (or partly affected) by this problem ?
EDIT: Do you think that , also if other things except images are loaded, it should be a open ports issue?

Apparently Console users have to delete characters completely to try and fix. Sorry for the bad news...

In all it took about a week of uploading/deleting to get everything fixed for myself.

So the only thing for all people having this issue is keep trying, so check if your char is uploaded fine and if it's not keep deleting it until it works.

I really don't understand how it really works, it should be a good think if a Bioware dev explain it to us.

Another difference I noticed is that my brother already had a bioware account before starting to play, I registered myself after playing a bit (lv 6 I think) , so somehow the console uploads all informations only after the first save or after the character creation ?

For future reference, it's preferred if you edit your post as opposed to double posting.
Anyway, I registered after playing for a bit with my first character to the same effect, but I hadn't thought about it until you pointed it out. My second character that I made after I had an account uploaded right, and only got weird when I followed a tip to delete my characters. That might be part of the problem, but deletion supposedly fixes these errors, but so far everything but the portrait has re-uploaded.
Also,I would rather have someone representing a dev come and report that yes they know and yes they care about it and they are working on the problem instead of us not knowing and messing with our characters, than have a dev come in and explain the entire process. Maybe an entry in the FAQ is warranted though.

You are right, I am sorry about that.

So this could be an explanation : most people doesn't have his/her first character uploaded correctly but for what I read the other characters are uploaded succesfully, so I think the fact that we should not have a social.bioware.com account before starting the game (or made the first save) , could be an hint.
I also think that the problem resides on game software and not in website since for some reason the game decides it should not upload also the character, so I think that to fix this issue the game must be patched ( I thing that this should be a minor bugfix), they should also introduce a functionality that made the user upload/manage game data manually and directly in-game.
To be short : I think that is not the website that doesn't takes all data the game sends, but the game that doesn't understand it should upload all if the website request it.
Also,I would rather have someone representing a dev come and report that yes they know and yes they care about it and they are working on the problem instead of us not knowing and messing with our characters, than have a dev come in and explain the entire process. Yes surely, we can only make suggestions about what we think how it works but a dev that explain us how it really works (not a specific or technical explanation but just the general behaviour) .
So my question to users that has this problem is : when you created the problematic character or saved the first time, do you already have a social.bioware.com account ?
At least we should have and provide more informations about this bug.

I also noticed that the full image on the character detail page shows my current armor on my Human Noble (first character I played), and the default armor on my other characters.
I've got a Dwarf commoner character that didn't upload at all, but that was an issue on the console I think. I only played that character for one sitting, so I don't if it'll attempt an upload again.

it's a neat feature, when it works.
