Bullfrog Entertainemnt (Dungeon Keeper 1 & 2) (Killed by EA)

Had so many of their games haha, Populous & the ThemePark/Hospital game's were also huge sellers.

For current game developers Team Ico could also be added to the list, a far smaller studio compared to some of the current giants. With 'Ico' & 'Shadow of the Colossus' & the forthcoming title 'The Last Guardian'.

M&M and HoMM (Bar V which was Nival) were developed by New World Computing.

^You're right, I must be more precise in the future.
8. New World Computing

the sad history of M&M 9 in developing and publishing:
Development on Might and Magic IX began in 2001, following the release of Might and Magic VIII: Day of the Destroyer. It was the first game in the series to be designed by Tim Lang, and the first in which Jon Van Caneghem, the series creator, was not involved in game design. As the first title in the series in which New World Computing received a deadline for completion from 3DO, Might and Magic IX's developers were faced with a lack of time and resources during production. This, coupled with limited employees due to staff cuts and ongoing work on Legends of Might and Magic, forced the game's developers to cut corners and eliminate features originally planned to be retained from previous games. Tim Lang has since commented that the game was "pre-alpha at best", and would have required another six months of development to be satisfyingly playable.

3DO:
After struggling for several years, the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May 2003. Employees were laid off without pay, and the company's game brands and other intellectual properties were sold to rivals like Microsoft, Namco, Crave, and Ubisoft, and also to founder Trip Hawkins who paid $405,000 for rights to some older brands and the company's "Internet patent portfolio". Hawkins went on to found Digital Chocolate, a mobile-based gaming company.

Bioware (obviously and the best with ease)

Obsidian (mainly for Alpha Protocol but also KotOR II)

CD Project (The Witcher and especially how they handled the EE)

Piranha Bytes (Gothic 1+2+Addon, Risen)

Formerly good:

Raven (ST: Elite Force and SW: Jedi Outcast)

Blizzard (Warcraft 1-3, Starcraft, Diablo ... sorry don't like the online stuff so it's here for me)

No longer around:

Looking Glass (Thief)

Ion Storm (Deus Ex)

Westwood (C&C, Nox, Lands of Lore series, generally for their diversity)

Origin (Ultima series, etc.)

Spectrum Holobyte (just for making the best Star Trek game ever with TNG: "A Final Unity")
