Fan fiction question

Unfinished, the story, really more of a novella, is 37 pages in Word. Now I can say that most of that is exciting and there is real character development done but I don't really know if anyone would be willing to sit through it and read the whole thing (besides my little sister who reads these things all the time).
I just want an honest answer. Would any of you be willing to read this behemoth of a fan fiction or did I just waste over 24 hours of my life on a story that maybe two people would read?

I actually wrote it in a chapter format. Finished it is at 40 pages but the first few chapters aren't that exciting. Mainly just lead up and foreshadowing for the later chapters.
Thats the issue i have with mine i think, why not just put it out there, observe the hits and reviews if you get them, and then make changes from there?
CAn i ask the subject matter? Main featuring characters etc.

It's about Garrus resolving his self confidence issues while helping shepard cement alliances. It's more subtle than it sounds though, at least i think so.NamiraWilhelm wrote...

this is a link to my first ever fan fiction so that you can get a feel for my style. It's short: http://www.fanfictio...atever_it_Takes
The main criticism I got for that one was the length of the chapters being short. I kind of took that to heart.
My second one might seem a bit campy at first but if you bear with it it gets better.

I'd consider that amount of pages in a word doc to be a Short story....

Yeah and my sister corrected me saying it was a fan fiction.

Try asking in the Garrus thread, you're more likely to find help with like-minded fans.
I did that too. I'm not looking for help, I'm just looking for whether I should bother uploading the story to my sister's fan fiction account.

The reviews indicate you've done well

Going by pages doesn't work since font sizes can range between 9-12 sizes. I recommend going by story arcs. You write a part of the plot that hold relevance; then when it's over, tie it off and move on the to the next chapter.

37 pages is a light snack... at least, if it's well written. My longest fanfic is over 100 k words and growing...GuardianAngel470 wrote...
I have spent the last several days writing a fan fiction of sorts and I was curious to get the fan reaction to its length.

I had a specific story I wanted to tell and as I was telling it i began incorporating other cool stories as side notes that accentuated the first story. But I wasn't looking for a Bleach or Naruto sort of story. I told what I wanted to tell.

Christ. I guess that alone makes it worthy of a read.

17000 words in one day?

It took me close to 2 whole 14-15 hour days to finish it. I've reread it for problems and corrected inconsistencies. there are still problems though and I may or may not go back and fix them. Their minor enough that I don't think they'll hamper the suspension of disbelief.
One pet peeve of mine when I read books is when authors is the non-abreviated forms of things. For instance, It is instead of it's when someone is talking. It feels so unnatural.
I tried to catch as many of these as I could but there are still some there.

It is good that you are mindful of even "small" details like that. Except in those cases where speaking without the use of contractions is character-appropriate, as in Thane Krios' case, for instance.
Or Samara.

Anyway, what kind of constructive comments you interested in? Characterization and important stuff like that, or nit-picky stylistic things like, "you could substitute 'Upon seeing the look of incredulity' with 'noticing the incredulous look' "?
Or... everything that comes to mind?
I just notice the constructions on the first read through. After it ruminates for a day, I'll do the second read. Sorry I wasn't quicker getting it read.
