I can't really remember anything about that because I kinda stoped working on that list..
Either way.. thers what I wrote down while playing the second game... just felt like posting it , despite the list not being complete..
Things I didn't like:
1. Sheperd wasn't wearing the armor that I was at the end of ME 1. Sure it makes sense for him to change his armor but it also woudl have been cool to see him in the armor that I last saw him in ME 1.
2. I was hoping that I would be able to adjust the face of my Sheperd despite importing him from the first one as I wasn't exactly that happy with the nose. I was hoping that I would be able to modify it a little bit. After all he underwent a surgery and more..
3. Mirandas character is unlikeable, depsite the nice body.
4. Loading times. What was BioWare thinking? I know that plenty of people complained about the long elevator rides in the first game, but I never had problems with them. They never seemed that long to me and you could listen to some news on the way. Best part about that was that they never took you out of the game, except for those few times where you could see the mass relay but even in those cases they made sense. Now you got some random animation each time you see a loading screen. Whats up with that? I always thought that BioWare was all about immersing the player in their aweosme world. And not taking them out of it every single time they get the chance to. Not only are those loadin g screens boring, I also can't belive that BioWare actually made someone waste their time on those. I seriously hope that the elevators return or that they use some way of streaming content.
Anotehr thing I wanted to mention about the elevators was that I didn't really see any reason to have them on the Normandy itself. Most of those loading times were barrely a few seconds long. Do you seriously belive that it was better to have those loading screens rather then a actual elevator?
5. clipping issues. PLenty of characters were cliping through the level. When I first went to Omega I noticed at last 2 or 3 characters who were partialy standing in a wall or some kind of other part of the level.
And there are plenty of times where we can see parts of characters clip through something in conversations or other cutscenes.. I mean.. is it that hard to spend a few more minutes fixing those few clipping issues? So that a hand doesn't go through a item that someone picks up or through someones body?
I'm assuming that BW used motion capture for the animations, but even then.. aren't the animators supposed to fix the clipping once the animation is applied to the characters?
6. Mouse Sensivity.. where is it?! The first game allowed us to change the sensivity. Why not ME2? I can't count the ammount of bullets I shot into a wall and not the enemy I was aiming at or was going to aim at only because of this stupid sensivity/acceleration. We are PC gamers and we enjoy being able to actually change such options. So BioWare better be making sure to have it in the third game.
7. Hearing the same answer despite picking different options during the conversations is rather cheap... not to mention that it only reminds you that your playing a game which obviously isn't something that you would wanna do if your trying to immerse the player in the world of your game.
8. Sometimes when you would talk to someone and they would simply reply with something they would "jump" a little bit up. Not literrary, but you could still notice that their bodies moved up on the Z axis a little bit.
9. While taling to someone you should see the options that you have already used/heard greyed out. Or at last some other way of telling the player that they already heard that part of the conversation..
10. Paragon/Renegate events where you could interupt a conversation should tell you whet exactly Shepard is going to do. Or at last give give the player a hint. Because the line between Paragon and Renegate during some of those events is rather thin.. If you should use it at all.. And how about giving us actually the option of using either one or the other at the same time? So that we can chose between doing a Renegate or Paragon move.. rather then being forced to either chose to interupt the conversation the way the game tells us to or to keep on talking..
11. The game seemed to have some problems when I was changing my weapons. Mainly when changing Shepards weapons. The game would outright crash.
12. Why does Shepard have to use new weapons automaticaly when he picks them up? I want to be able to chose if I wanna use the gun that I just picked up or the one that I already had on me.
For example, at one point in the game I find a new sniper rifle. While it allows me to shoot more bullets before reloasing and is pretty strong and steady.. its weaker then my previous rifle which would kill a enemy in one shot while this one needs at last two shots..
13. Why does the new and so called better Normandy have to use fuel? I mean.. we didn't have to use fuel in the first game and now with all the money of Cerberus we end up with a ship that actually uses fueal? Why not just some mini reactor or something liek that that just generates the energy?
14. And since I'm already on it. Why did we have to steer the Normandy with out mouse? Why couldn't we just use the WASD keys? It would have been nice to at last have the option of using them instead of being forced to use the mouse. Not to mention that steering it wasn't exactly that great. Most of the time when I was flying towards something I ended up driving past it only because the ship doesn't stop where it should. Sure it might make sense, but that was still one of the annoyig things in the game.
15. Connecting to the Cerberus Network when yo uboot up the game shouldn't hinder you from actually playing the game. Whenever you boot up the game you have to wait for the game to connect to the network only so that your actually able to use any of the menu options.
16. FireWalker DLC - Its decent, but next time your making DLC, make sure that the onscreen instruction actually tell you the right keys for the wehicle that your using. The so called "tips" on the screen suggested that I should use left shift to jump and the right mouse button to research. Goes what, after having a little look in the options menu I foudn out that jumping was handled by E and minig by V. Thats not even close to what the game told me.
17. If you got characters talking to me without actually walking up to them, then you should make sure tha they don't repeat themselfs. Like for example, I walked up to a lady on the Normandy and asked her about my crew. She tells me that I have new messages. I end the conversation and run up to the PC to check my messages and while I do that the lady once more tells me that I got new messages. Like why would she tell me that once more right after she told me that.. ?
18. Which brings me to another point. Why would I wanna know if I have a newh message after asking a crew member about the crew itself? It doens't make any sense. If you give us the option to ask someone something then make it logical. Like "Whats new?" and not "how's the crew?".
19. Armor for squad members. Where was it? In the first game we would find new armors all the time and I enjoyed looking through my items hoping that I would have found a new armor for me or one of my crew members. Why didn't we have those in ME2? This was just another one of those downgrades that shouldn't happen in those games. Or did BioWare didn't include those so that they could sell you them as DLC? I really hope that BioWare will realize that that was one of the good things in the first game and add it back to ME3... (
I would liek to see BW bring back the old system from the first game where we could chose the armor for our squad mates. What I would love to see even more would be the ability to customize it like with Shepards standart armor in ME2. And I also would like to see some armors in the stores being sold, rather then only finding random armor on missions or in random crates lying around.. Please BW, make it happen.
20. Why can't I talk to my crew members anymore? In the first game I could always walk up to one of my squad members that was with me and talk to him. Ok, it wasn't a full conversation, but those guys and girls still had something to say.. despite repeasting themselfs most of the time. I enjoyed doing that and hearing what my squad had actually to say about the mission or the level itself.. while being on the mission or while walking around with them in general.. I would love to see the return of this in ME3. I'm aware that squad members said something every once in a while during each mission, but that happened only rarely. Or in some places where you would active it by looking at some specific object. Which probably depended on the characters that were with you. Either make them talk more often or give us the option of talking to them while being on a mission or while being with them in general..
21. Shadows.. Thank you a lot for the new and improved shadows in ME2. They were certainly a lot better then in the first game. But there were still small problems like shadows going through objects.. or not appearing on them at all..
22. Why did BioWare choose to have a extra key for melee attacks? I liked how it was handled in the first game where you would simply hit a enemy with your melee attack if he would be in range.. Sure, in ME2 there weren't thkat many times when a enemy would get so cose to me so I only ended up using the melee button a handful of times during the whole game.. unless you count the times where I would just use it to play around with the dead bodies of some enemies bouncing them around.. Don't get me wrong, its fun to do that, but I simply don't get why they would make us use another button for just that.. I can't even imagine how the console crauds feel about that. Its liek losing a whole button only to melee some enemies.. something that you might not even do that often..
23. Crates.. the game had some of those and if I got the idea, then they were simply there so that some enemy could use them as cover and you could blow it away.. but how about actually having some items in one or the other crate? Or just money or ammo, or whatever...? I remember a character in the game mentioning that he would open up some of those crates for items.. and I imidiately thought that that was imply a hint that we could find items in those things.. but so far I haven't found a single item in one of those crates.. perhaps we could see that in ME3? Its not like it would be that hard to do that..
24. The AI was good, but could have been a little better. And I mean both enemy and friendly AI. Both of them had some similar problems where they would either take cover right in front of their enemies or stand on the cover rather then ducking behind it.. it didn't happen that often but it was still distracting.. and also one of the reasons why my team mates died more often then they should have..
25. Why do most bodies dissappear after a fight? In the first game it made sense, because I usually was using amunition that would just meld the bodies away.. and in the second game there are similar options of freezing a enemy so that he ends up as ice on the floor.. but what about the normal dead bodies that don't melt away? They simply dissappear form one second to the other.. It would be nice if the bodies would actually stay there until we leave the area.. Also, why can't we play around with the bodies? Like using some powers on them to fling them around or freeze them/etc.? Certain people like to play around with ragdolls..
Videos:
26. At one point in the game (jail) I found a bug or glitch where I would move into a different area of the level (through a door) and one of two bodies in the previous area would dissappear and reappear as I was walking between those two areas.. I'm not sure what that is called but it would be nice if such things wouldn't occure in ME3..
27. What happened to the special ammo and other upgrades that we could use for our weapons in the first game? Yeas, I knwo that the powers now seem to have replaced those, but why? I liked to scroll through my ammo upgrades and other upgrades trying to figure out which ones I would actually like to chose for me and my crew members.. I'm fine with those skills replacing the special ammo (despit it being a little unrealistic).. The second game seemed to have less special ammo types.. Actually it seemed to have like only 2 or 3 where the first game seemed to have a lot more.. Like.. what happened to my favorite ammo type? The one that would melt away my enemies... I mean the green one.. Not sue what it was called.
28. Why does Shepard and certain nother characters have to rotate their head in rather unrealistic ways? It looks rather awful and unrealisting with Shepard leading the way. I mean.. its reaslistic, but why would Shepard look around while running.. most of the time hes head doesn't even face the direcitn his running to.. it just looks akward. Not to mention that rotating your head in such a way would probably end up in a broken neck.. (o.0);
29. Why did the new Normandy had no stairs? The first one did.. and I liked that. Not only is it unrealistic to have no stairs, its also a security risk for the crew.. what happens if the Normandy loses its power? Do you just leve the other crew members on the ship? At last I can't see any other way out besides the main exit that we can't even use.. (which we could in the first game). And having stairs would also help with those akward loading screens..
30. Sometimes when a random NPC in the bacground would start talking after me walking by I would like to listen to the conversation.. yet, I might accidently skip it by talking to some other NPC. Thats not exactly that awesome..
31. At one point in the game Thane somehow lost his eyes during the conversation.. where did that come from? Either that or the texture on his eyes went missing for a momment..
32. As impressive as the games are. Why do most NPCs stand around talking with each other yeat their mouth never moves? Its just.. well, weird.. it makes sense for characters like Tali and those little fat ones but not for Turians, Krogan or any other race that we can see the mouth of..
33. Why couldn't we sell anything? In the first game we could at last sell the spare weapons and upgrades and make some extra money... Why can't we do that in ME2? I found myself in plenty of situations where I would liek to buy something yet I had to pass on those items because of my lack of money.. Heck, we scan planets for all kinds of stuff.. why can't we sell it then?
34. The running animation is awfully akward.. Sheppard looks liek a terminator while running.. not only that but why can't he sprint for a longer time? I get the whle armor/weapons being heavy thing but why can't he sprint more when hes on the Normandy in his regular cloths?
35. I already mentioned this in another thread but.. Scaning planets for resources got old rather fast. Its a nice minigame, but why couldn't we actually walk on those planets/moons more often? Like we used to in the first game. I actually liked driving around those planets stumbling acros resources and enemies.. Despite the weird car controls... (Where have to seen a car that actually drives left or right when you use the according buttons.. ) I actually would like to see both of those options in ME3. I mean scaning and landing on the pdlanet.. All people would be happy either way.. I felt like I actually spent plenty of hours just scanning planets.. and a minigame really shouldn't take up so much time in a RPG like ME.
36. Not sure if I already mentioned this or not, but it would be great if the crew members would also be able to reply with different lines instead of having just one.. I mostly think of Garrus when thinking about this. Either if you ask him about the crew or about a private chat.. he always replies with the same line.. Same applies for the female doctor on the ship. She already was like that in the first game.. I was hoping that BioWare would have "fixed" that in the second game but unfortunately.. that wasn't the case. Its just weird that I had a drink with the doc at the beggining of the game and ever since that moment she hasn't had anything else to say.. So it would be really nice if some of those other character would get more lines of text... :s
37. When I was talking to the Ilussive Man I had one problem.. I couldn't chose not to do the mission that he gave me. Not that I didn't wanna do it, but most of the time I wasn't even ready for it. I wanted to talk to my crew befora that, I wanted to upgrade the weapons with the new upgrades I just got, but nooo instead I'm forced to go straight to another mission. I wanted to chose if I wanna do it now or not. Like with some other missions.. Like on the mission where you meet Thane. You can chose to go to the towers or come back later and do it then..
38. Clickable buttons - Why do we have to select some option in the weapons select menu or skill points menu only to accept the choice with another button? Why couldn't we just double click on the choice that we want?
39. There was some weird graphical glitch/bug where the background seemed to have problems rendering.. the result was a weird halucigen like look.. It was already mentioned in another thread or two but I doubt that that was planned.. Thers a video of what I'm talking about:
40. So we can get news via the cerberus network in the games main menu. Thats nice and all, but I didn't like how the message was displayed. I couldn't read it because it was scrolling up and down.. It would have been better if we could hace scrolled around manually like we do with out private messages in the game and pretty much every otehr text window...
41. At one point in the game there was a loading screen without any message at all. I just thought that I should mention it as I'm not sure if thats a bug/glitch or if there was a purpose behind that..
42. We get to upgrade the Normandy, yet none of the loading screens actually display those updates. Why not? If BW wanted those screens to be informative, why not give us some info about our precious upgrades that we have done so far?
43. I wasn't able to see the life bar of enemies who were too far from Shepard away. Snipers are a great weapon and I love them, but its a little odd/sad when you zoom in onto a enemy and keep shooting him while wondering about his shields and life bar.. Example:
44. Having our game CD in the disc tray is by far the worst thing you could do when it comes to DRM. Belive it or not, plenty of people dislike this so they either buy the game digitally or they will eventualy have to find another way of avoiding this. We obviously bought the game so why force us to use the CD over and over again? Why not give us the option of activating the game online (like in Steam) so that we don't have to use our CD after that. Plenty of people are on the move and I doubt that they want to take their game CD's with them everywhere they go. Not only that but using the CD so often might damage it and I doubt that anyone wants that to happen. I really hope that BioWare learns a lesson from this and just allows us to activate it so that we don't have to use the CD. And don't even think about limited installs or anything like that. We payed for the game, so why should we be limited to a certain number of installations.. (just in the case if BW was thinking about that awful idea)
45. Element Zero - What was BW thinking? I'm fine with using minerals for upgrades, but why make it so rare? I already thought that eventually I would stumble across planets that would have it, but there are way too many planets.. I ended up going to the BW ME forum to find a list of planets that got this element.. (don't even think about doing it randomly in the future game).
46. Why does the Council only appear once during the whole game? I can see why BW did that because the council might as well be gone depending on the choices a player made during the last mission in the first game, but why have them only appear once? Sure they tell you to stay away from there but still.. where was the point in saving them or letting them die if you barrely interact with them?
47. what happened to plasma rifles or whatever those were called? You know, the ones that would simply overheat yet would never run out of ammo.. I liked that system a lot more then having to run around levels looking for ammo or hoping that I won't run out of ammo during my mission..
48. Why can't I use my weapons everywhere? I wanted to be at last able to draw my weapons.. I know that we can't shoot mots NPC's anyway, because the game won't allow it, but it would have been nice if I could at last draw my weapon. I mostly wanted to do that so that I could use the sniper rifle to zoom in on objects in the distance or just to get a closer look at someones face. (first person view to look around?)
49. Why have a dedicated button to switch between two weapons? Its nice to have one as I have seen it in other shooters.. (mostly FPS) but I didn't really see any reason to have one in ME. I can just pause the game and switch my weapons.. It just felt like a wasted oportunity for something else.. mostly on the 360 if it had the same button.
50. I'm not sure if this was a feature of the first game or not, but when you paused the game you could still miove around your cursor, meaning that you could actually aim while the game was frozen. Why was that abscent from the second game?
51. I also stumbled a cross a glitch where the second door to the Afterlife club on Omega was missing. You could basically see how the models pop in and out.. Just watch the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzWxRUHBItw
52. And another one where Miranda would magically appear for one frame standing on the ship thats just landing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9f0kRiPd9AU
53. And another glitch in Afterlife that only seemed to occure during Samaras mission: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vzZ_oi5EDI
54. And another glitch that happened during the Garrus mission. I saw it already being mentioned in another thread, but still.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43SleCGrQrU
55. At one point in the game thers a mission with a container that has this blue sign on it meaning that you can interact with it. If you play through all the game, then you know that you simply have to look at the blue sign and press space.. but for some weird reason that was changed in this case. I was lookign at the container pressing space like crazy expecting it to open up, but no... instead it only tells the game that I'm done with the level and that I now can press the F key to finish the mission. And goes what? After pressing F I see Shepard opening the container in a cutscene.. never do that ever again. There was no way of knowing that I couldn't open that container.. I already thought that I had found a glitch or bug in the game.. That was simply bad design.. The game could have let me just press the space bar to trigger the cutscene rather then having to tel the game that I can activate it now with F.. :s
56. Another problem that I had happened during a cutscene... I come into a bar and the cutscene stars.. everythings fine except that the one main character in that cutscene.. which is tallking.. doesn't open her mouth. The sounds there but thers no animation for the face playing.. (that happens in the bar where you eventually end up talking to someone who wants to sel their Qurian slave.. )
57. I wasn't really expecting to see the geth in ME2 but eventually they did show up a couple of times. Thats great, but just one question.. what happened to the geth who would jump around? Sure, they might be a little bit annoying but I somehow missed them.. why were they abscent from the game? And a better question would be.. any chance of Legion jumping aroud like that? Perhaps in the third game?
58. This one is about rolling over cover. I know that I already mentioned that before, but thers a different problem with it. If we could just jump on/roll on/over cover by simply pressing against it with one butto then everything would work. But the problem in ME2 was that we would have to first take cover to actually be able to roll over it. And if you took cover then you automatically draw your weapon.. thats fine if your in a firefight but why in the world would I draw my weapon every single time I'm taking cover? I mostly noticed that during the "Normandy crash" DSL, where I wanted/had to roll on to possible cover but ended up always drawing my weapon to do it.. besides that being annoying.. it simply looked stupid.. woudl be great if that would be fixed in the third game.
Anotehr problem is, that you can't roll over cover if your tring to do it fast. You have to take cover, let go of the W key if you happen to hold it, then press and hold it again only so that you can press Speace to roll over cover.. I found myself in plenty of situations where I would run towards cover, holding the W key, pressing space to take cover and pressing space again so that I would roll over it.. but instead I just exit and enter cover.. no one told me that I would have to let go of the W key and press it again while being in cover only for the game to register that.. I mean really, BW really could have fixed that.. its not that hard.
59. "I should go." - I heard that line so many times from Shepard. Not only because he constanctly repeats it when you engange in the same conersation over and over agian.. he uses it most of the time. How about more lines of dialog with the same meaning? So that they make more sense given the situation you use them at.. rather then using one line over and over again which makes it rather. annoying and weird.. because its so out of place..
60. Why did every quad member only use two weapons while Shepard has like 4 or more strapped to his back? For example, Garrus and Tali were just fine using 3 weapons in the first game, but now they only use two for some weird reason. It might have been a design decistion, but I would really would like to see all my squad/crew members be able to actually use all the weapons that I do. For example, I wanted to take Garrus and Legion with me on a couple of missions. But it doesn't make much sense to do so because they have the same weapon set.. only their powers are slightly different.. I would much rather give Legion anotehr gun and have Garrus as my sniper then being forced to simply using Garrus and some other team member..
61. Sitting down in the game.. how about allowing us to actually sit down manually? The only place I can think of that allows us to do that are the tables with the Asari dancing on them.. how about allowing us to sit down at the bar or at anotehr normal talbe and just have a chat with some random strangers? I also dind't like that Shepard would sit down automaticaly during certain conversations.. like the one on Omega. As soon as you talk to the Asari lady Shepard sits down.. but if there are no new caht options then I obviously will end the conversation.. and it simply looks odd when you walk up to someone and even sit down only to leave a few seconds later because thers notghing new to hear form that character..
62. Soetimes the sound was a little messy.. depending on where you are.. or better said, where the camera is. Its just weird that moving the camera around can give the regular sound a muted tone.. Just watchi this video and you will see/heard what I mean..
For example, the worst scenario is when someone says something randomly and you can't make out what he/she said because the sound was so muted. That mostly happened during Legions missions which was pretty annoying, because I really wanted to hear what he was saying..
63. VIP part of Omega - Every time I was on Omega I alwayds ran up to the guy standing next to the VIP entrance to see if I coudl finnaly enter it.. only to finnaly do that during a mission. That was great and all, but why can't I re-visit that place once I'm done with the mission? I would like to revisit many of the places that we got to see during some side mission.. yet we never even get the chace to do that.. and really. The VIP part? I mean come on.. We told the guy the password and did make any trouble inside.. why shouldn't we be able to go back.. it simply doesn't make any sense..
64. I also had a little problem with the doors. I can understand why BW made certain doors only open when the palyer would do that manually, but I would actually like to open those doors from a bigger distance. I know that it doesn't make sense texnically, but its simply annoying when you run towards the door opening it only to run into it having to wait a seoncd or two until it finnaly opens..
65. I also didn't like the way the game handled the special ability upgrade where you could chose between several available updates, depending on how many loyality missions you had done. The problem with that was that if you chose one of the powers that it doesn't dissappear from the list.. instead its still there. Eventually confusing the player.. if either they actually got that power or if thats a possible upgrade for that particulay power.. if you happened to chose one power over and over again it would only waste your elemt zero but wouldn't give the player anything in exchange for that. So it would be either good if the power would be removed from the list when a player choses it, or if you simply wouldn't lose any elemnt zero if you happen to chose the same power again.. But the better one obviously would be to just remove the power that the player choses.
66. Drinking in the game didn't really add anything to the game, but it was still a nice little thing to have. The problem that I had with this part was that, Shepard would still drink even if he has a helm on. I'm not sure if the game was supposed to remove the helm despite walking around in armor, but I got the collectors armor and it simply looked weird when Shepard drinks through the helm which obviously doesn't have any holes for the drink to go through.. same applies to other situations where his face is required, yet he still has a helm on.. like the scene where you meet up with Liara. Shepard gets a kiss, from her.. but once more.. it looks simply odd seeing Liara kissing Shepards helm..
67. I really like the conversation system in the game.. at last most of the time. But I don't like it if thers nothing new to hear from a NPC. So, how about actually not letting us talk to those NPC's unless they got something new for us? (or if their there to tell us about their loyality mission or something other that is actually important..) Another idea that I had for this problem was to simply grey out the options that we have already used/heard. I don't mean greying them out so that we can't use them.. like how it is now. .I mean more liek a visual cue that we have already heard that part.. Its simply annoying runing up to all the NPC's only to hear the same lines over and over again..
I also would appreciate it if BW could give each character more then just one line. Like someone already mentioned in another thread. Whenever you would go to Garrus he would simply tell us that hes bussy doing one thing.. how about giving him like 4 or 5 lines that he uses? So that its not always:
Garrus:"Bussy configurations the weapons"
Garrus:"Bussy configurations the weapons"
Garrus:"Bussy configurations the weapons"
Garrus:"Bussy configurations the weapons"
But rather..
Garrus:"Bussy configurations the weapons"
Garrus: "I need to go to..."
Garrus:"Can it wait? I really need to finish this ... protocol"
Garrus: "Oh, hey! I don't really have time right now, can you come back later?"
And so on.. I doubt that it would be that hard to get the voice actors to do it, unless their asking for too much money.. then I could understand it..
68. No mission debriefings - Yea, we get a simple screen with some info about what just happened and what kind of items or upgrades we got, but I liked those debriefing scenes from the first game.. would be great if BW brought them back to ME3.. Make it happen!
69. The collectors attacking the Normandy was a interesting scenarion.. one that I actually wasn't expecting.. But I found it a little weird that I had to play as Joker.. It was certainly interesting, but I'm not sure how I feel about it. The main problem that I had with that scenario was that it was awfully scripted. I died at last 2 times trying to get joker to the first airshaft.. Why does BW let us close the windows for the cockpit if all this does is waste time that Joker needs to get to the door? How was I supposed to know that there was a time limit running in the back of the game? It would have been better if it wasn't so scripted that I can actually do both.. close the windows and make my way to the door/etc..
I also found this portion of the game a little cheap. Once that part of the game was over I was worried that I might have lost a squad mate like Garrus or one of the other guys/girls.. Luckely it wasn't the case, but that brings up another question.. Where was all my crew during that attack? I bet that they would have been able to hold back the collectors from killing or capturing most of the humans on teh Normany.. Don't tell me that they were all with me on the small ship that left right before the attack.. Because the cutscene clearly only showed Jacob/Miranda/Me and the Alien doc boarding that ship.. Not only that, but the scene where we go to the ship didn't even make sense in the first place.. The collector attack was initiated because I wanted to do Talis mission.. Yes for some odd reason she either wasn't on the ship or the whole alien squad/crew was on it.. it simply doesnt make sense either way.. This was a rather huge flaw on the story side of the game.. that was .. well, weak.. I hope that BW makes sure to not have such scenarions in ME3 where they don't make sense...
And another good question.. how did the colectors even get on board? BW could have at last explained that or showed us some cutscene or something like that.. because it sure seemed kind of weird that the Collectors were taking the elevator. I suppose that they didn't beam themselfs onto the ship..
70. Why do all loyality missions usually end up in a fight? Not that I wouldn't like that, but its just weird.. When I was doing Talis mission I was just expecting conversations for 10 minutes or more.. instead they send me on a ship thats supposed to be full of Geth..
71. I also had a problem with the point allocation.. I'm talking about the skill points or whatever their called. Why couldn't we mannually bring up a window where we could allocate the points of each crew member? I found it just odd that the only times when we get to do that are the ones when we start a mission and chose whos coming with Shepard.. And considering that most people probably were always chosing the same crew members (becasue everyone obviously will find a favorite or 2) then chances are that the payer wont even get the chance of allocating the points of each member unless their forced to chose those members.. like on a loyality mission.
72. Which also brings me to the whole skill point thing. It certainly works, but why did BW change it? It was just fine in the first game. If BW wanted to give us the option of which way our characters should develope once one of their prowers is maxed out. thats fine, but why make us gatehr even more points? I was much happier when I could do a mission and then just allocate even 1 or 2 poitns in the skills I wanted to instead of being forced to do multiple missions only to gather enough points so that I would be actualy able to improve at last one of my skils.. I mean really, 3 or 4 points? Thats two missions that need to be done.. thats a little bit too much work for my taste. I would like to see the old system return, with the idea of being able to get some bonus once a power is maxed out..
73. The squad AI sometimes doesn't doesn't seem to recognize that there are enemies in the room/area. They still take cover, yet they don't shoot the enemy.. making them basically useless..
74. Another problem that I had with the F key. You know how thers a pop up telling the player that you can end the mission with the F key. Well, that pop up shows up during the worst scenarions. First of all, it shows up but doesn't dissappear during conversations until several seconds later.. or it even pops up during a conversations.. right on the chat options.. The second problem I have with it is that F is used for melee attacks. Why in the name of God would you use a button for two things? I know that it works for the space key, but only because its context sensitive, but the F key? What if I wanna kill a enemy with a melee attack? I hit him only to imidiately see a messagwe pop up asking me if I wanna end the mission.. Not exactly such a smat choice for the button configuration.. would be great if BW would pay a little bit more attention to that.
75. Mini Nuke launchar is by far the worst weapon in the whoel game. It might be a effective one, but how are we supposed to know that if we never get to use it? Just like any other player I wanted to try it out to see how effective it really is. What do I do? I kill one enemy that I could have killed with any other regular weapon waster the shot.. how was I supposed to know that the gun would take so much ammo? I fired it once and thought.. ok, goes you only get to fire it once.. but what good is it to hve such a useless weapon, if I can't even use it once on each mission? I took it with me thining that I might be able to use it on other types of enemies.. but instead the gun only goes *plew*plew*plew* not firing a single shot.. by the time I will have enough ammo to actually use it again on a enemy that might actually be worth firint it at I will already have completed the game.. Next time your giving us such a powerfull weapon.. make sure to tell us how it actually works and how much ammo it is so that we get to know how useless it really is before even wasting a single shot.. Thers a pool: http://social.biowar...951/polls/9485/
76. Anotehr glitch I encountered were screaming enemies.. One kept on screaming after dieing, while anotehr started screaming while being attacked and never stoped until he died.. not sure if its just some sound loop problem or whatever, but it certainly would be nice if that would get fixed.. (despite being one of the funnier things of the game)
77. No real shops/stores.. yes, we got wshops selling miniature ships and pets, but what about actually the important things? Like... Medigel or ammunition? Both of those were available in the first game.. this was just another of those things that got dumped down for the sequel which didn't make any sense what so ever..
78. Legions mission was nice and entertaining, but I had a problem with the security on the ship. Whats the point of having those lines on the ground with Legion telling you what they are for, if you are forced to touch them anyway? Their right before each door.. whats the whole point of that? I might as well just touch them as soon as I see one.. :/
79. Sometimes certain characters will stand or get too close to the camera. I found this to be rather odd that during a cutscene a character is standing partially inside the samera/clipping through it.. or in other scenes the cahracter will move to close to it clipping into it..
80. I was a little disapointed to find out that the second game still had one of the problems that were already present in the first one. Characters who constately repeat their line. The first game had several such scenarions, and in the second game, I found at last 1 or 2 of those. Why do we need to have a character remind us what to do every few seconds? Its not like we wouldn't know what we are supposed to do. Its simply annoying hearing the same line over and over again while we already know what to do. What if the player wants to salvage all the items in the level before actually moving on? If you make a character tell us what to do so often, then give him at last several lines so that its not as annoying as it is..
81. The following problem probably only accures on the PC, but still. If your playing the game and then end up triggering a cutscene video then the mouse cursor is still there, right on the video. Its just weird and probably the first time I actually have seen that happen. If we wouldn't move the mouse during a cutscene, then we could watch the videos with a mouse cursor over them.. it would be great if that would get fixed in the next game.
82. More weapons would have been nice. Most categories only had 2 weapons, perhaps even 3. The only weapon type that had at last a decent ammount of weapons available were the heavy ones with their 6 or 7 weapons.. I would love to see more weapons in ME3... heck, even the first game seemed to have more weapons..
83. BW should either check their code or the game before releasing it.. Or perhaps this only applies to DLC. But during the FireWalker DLC where we get to control the HammerHead the game told me with its random messages that I would have to use "left shift" for a boost while using the right mouse button for mining. Goes what? None of those instructions were accurate. I had to look up the controlls menu only to find out that I had to use E for boost and V for mining. I know that I can configure the buttons to whatever I want, but how come that BW didn't check this DLC before releasing it? I mean .. wow, thats a huge fail... And its not like I would have changed the controlls randomly myself.. Heck, its not that hard to check the config file to see which buttons are assigned to which options so that you could just use this info in the random messages, rather then having some stock message popick up which is outdated...
84. Why are we not able to see the health bar for enemies who are further away? First I thought that it was jsut a general problem and that BW wouldn't have tested the game enough to actually notice that you won't see the health/armor/shiled bars of enemies who are too far from the player, but at one point in the game we have to fight one of those big worms. (the ones that we got to fight in the first game while driving around in the Makoto) and half of the time I couldn't even see how much HP the worm has left. And I doubt that BW didn't test this portio of the game.. so yeah, why weren't we able to see the health of enemies in the distance? I hope that BW fixes that in the third game.
85. Certain missions would end right after a fight, despite the fact that there were still items lying around in that area. Certain missions told the player to press F to end the mission allowing them to look aroudn the level to see if there are any items they might have missed. My suggestion would be to check if the player has already picked up all the items available in that area. (I mean credits, heavyy weapon ammo, Medi-gel.. anything thats in those containers) And if thats the case then the game can end the missio, but if there are still items lying around the level then let the player choose if they want to end the mission by using a specific button or if they wanna look around the level.
86. The Pyjak minigame on Tuchanka was a nice addition to the game (and to get a ..), but why weren't we able to use the mouse in this part of the game? I first used the mouse only to find out that it wouldn't move the aim redicle or whatever that yelowish thing on the ground is called. Instead we had to use the directional keys (WASD) on the PC. Whats the point in picking up the PC version if we have to use the same controsl as the console version? Sure its just a tiny minigame, but it still would be great if BW actually used the PC's strenghts.. aka the mouse.
Thers a video of me playing the minigame for the first time.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5piqFU3kto
87. Female armor? Where is it? Why do Miranda and Samara and pretty much any other female crew member use a tight dress? I doubt that its going to save them from bullets once their shields are down.. It would be nice if the game or the characters themselfs would at last mention this.. as to why they are wearing that stuff? Would it mute their biotics or what?
88. How come that we have to feed the fish, yet not the Hamster? I actually didn't know that we have to feed the fish until half of them were already dead.. (o.0);
If you give us animals or anything thats alive.. then make sure to tell us that we actually have to feed them.. (even if it doesn't make any sense why EDI couldn't feed them automatically... )
89. The game really shouldn't be so scripted. At one point in the game thers a sick Krogan lying in a bed and whenever you walk past him he moans.. BW.. We get it, we know that hes sick, but we don't need to hear him moan almost every single time we walk past him.... video:
90. Quick save problem - I might not use the quick save option that often, but isn't the whole point of quick saves to actuall alowe the player to save and load the game quickly? I was a little dissapointed when I found out that using the quick save button doesn't do anything if the game decides to overwrite my save with a checkpoint.. thats nice that the game has checkpoints but I would prefere to be ableo to quicksave anytime I want and load that save with the quick load function.. I might as well just use regular saves if the quicksave option doesn't work like that..
91. INvisible walls.. gamers hate them. BW, please try to stay away from invisible walls as much as possible. The reason why I'm netioning this is bececause there were plenty of times where I physically should be able to actually fall down from a rock or so but I wasn't.. Actually you never see Shepard falling at all. Its just a little bit silly that we still have invisible walls in the future.. if you don't wanna make the player go off a ledge then add some obstacle that simply won't allowe it..
92. Which brings me to anotehr glich I encountered.. I was just running around and I somehow managed to walk on a few rocks that I probably wasn't supposed to walk on.. the result was that I was just hanging around in the air. I could just walk around, but I was still somehow limited to a small area.. sooner or later my squad members joined me too... And I was a little bit afraid that Shepard might fall through the floor.. (x_X) Anyway, thers a video:
Anoter similar scenario was where I was walking around that ship wreck on Zanethu, and it seems like the ship would have fallen a little bit while I was standing on a metal thing.. anyway, the result was that I was once more walking in the sky... except that I couldn't get back on the ground and had to restart the mission..
93. During the Anomality mission on Eagle Nebula/Amun/Neith we had to fight plenty of robots. Some of those roboties seemed to have problems touching the ground, because once they died they somehow magically were floating above the ground.. they even did that if they were just knocked over..
94. If Shepard is walking normally and happens to fall off something, then you can see that thers no aimation. Shepard just goes to a static pose and falls down... Not sure if thats a big or glitch, but its still odd that BW didn't give him a animation for that..
95. I didn't like the way the game handled expierience. In the first one you wouldget XP for every killed enemy or perhaps after killing a bunch of enemies.. in this game, you only get XP after doing a mission and the only place you see the XP you gained are the briefing screens.. whats the point of telling us how much XP we got if its mostly if not always only 125? I would prefer if BW brought back the old system where we could gain XP all the time and see how much XP we gained after eatch battle. And a nice little pop up message telling us that we just leveled up.. just like in the first game.
96. The galaxy map is a little too bright or better said, the tiny circles that represent a planet system are too blue. Its sometimes a little hard to sport one of them in this bright galaxy map.. which brings me to...
97. When you first boot up the game your probably overwhelmed by the amount of info on the galaxy map with names of each system and lists of what to do where. Eventually all that dies down and your left with a blank galaxy and a few system names.. Why can't we have the names on all planet system? Its annoying having to check each system only to find the one your looking for. That or give us some key like shift or something else that shows all the names of each system.. Just do somethig about it.. Which also brings me to..
98. The system names were too big. Most of the time the names or even whole planet systems were hidden behind the name of another system or cluster or whatever you wanna call it.. so how about scaling down the font on those so that they don't get in our way?
99. Scars.. Why did they had to be so ugly? The scars in the first game looked at last good, tose were simply glowing.. anyway, besdies that. The player could get rid of those, but thers a question regarding that.. When I first got that upgrade that actually removes the scars the scars were already gone.. yet, when I went to the docs room there was a machine that I could use to get rid of the scars.. that doesn't make any sense.. The scars alrady disappeared when I bought that upgrade.. why give us this machine when it basically doesn't do anything?
100. If something changes on the Normandy, then shouldn't those changes be permanent? I'm refering to the conversation with Grunt where he hits a window with his head and the window cracs. Shouldn't the window then stay cracked? Sure, I can imagine that someone would fix it, but shouldn't Shepard be informed about that? Like someone asking him if they actually should fix that window?
101. Another problem I had has something to do with the end of the game. At certain parts we can chose which person should go with which team and when I had to chose someone to send through the air duck I wanted to send Miranda, yet I couldn't because she wasn't even on the list.. Why? I wanted to send her.. After all Shepard is the guy in charge, so why shouldn't I have been able to send her? Next time you give us the option of chosing.. let us chose someone from the whole team not just from 7/8...
102. Why wasn't I able to save the game during the end? Even the quicksave feature is useless if I can't use it...
103. Why do some choices don't matter in the game, despit the game giving us a choice in the conversations? The most painfully one that I remember is from the end of the game, where our team is standing behind a door and Shepard has to chose if someone should stay there and secure the area or if we should simply hurry up. And despite chosing to hurry up the team stays there.. so what was the point in even giving us the option if the outcome is the same? I would have to see that happen one more time in any ME game.
104. Also, why was there only one song during the credits? Its just boring when you watch the credits in sillence.. :/
105. Why does someone always have to die? In both games we had to literrary chose someone whos going to die. In the first game it was rather obvious and in the second.. not so much. But still.. how about actually allowing us to sve all of them?
106. Another glitch occured during the Suicide mission. At one point Garrus just stoped.. "working". I didn't notice that until I had killed all the enemies in the area, but Garrus basically had turned into a zombie. Except that Zombies move around.. Garrus was simply standing there and not respunding to the Q and E buttons or aiming at him or hitting him with the weapon. The GUI simply said Blocked like he would be dead, but I also couldn't reviwe him.. Thers a video:
Unfortunatelly I wasn't recording the whole fight so I only recorded the Garrus Zombie. He actualyl stoped responding (blocked) around 1 or 2 minutes before I even started recording.. and anotehr time when I was replaying the end Garrus was standing in that exact same possition.. except that this time he actually died and I could revive him. Also, if you watch the video, you could see that I couldn't progress any further because the game wouldn't let me..
107. During the last mission Samara who was holding the big shield/field to protext the 3 of us could go throu Shepard. If you would stand in front of her when tshe moved she would simply go through you. Chances are that it also happens with any other character who happens to hold the filed, but I just happen to use Samara. Either way, shouldn't she have just pushed me aside or actually manuveread around me?
108. The force field that Jack uses to throw around enemies can sometimes throw enemies into positions where they.. well, basically stand in the air.. That happened twice during the last levels for me. Good thing that I could actually kill them..
109. Another problem that occured during the end of the game was during that scene where Shepard has to fight those flying balls on the Normandy. I was fighting the second ball and was just shooting it until it exploaded.. Chances are that I was also shooting it when it was already declared dead.. either way, I was shooting it when the cutscene started and after that there was a ticking sound for the next 5 or 6 minutes.. Video:
110. I'm not sure if this is a big/glitch or if this just happens randomly in the game, but anyway... I played the end three times. I always took Jack and Garrus with me and 2 or the 3 times Jack was golding up her hand to show me the Illusive man, but the third time was actually Garrus.. I was just wondering if thats random or if that was some kind of glitch/bug where the characters were simply swaped..
111. Why does the Normandy get relocated after going from a mission/planet to the galaxy map? Lets say.. if you land on Omega and then leave it then the Normandy won't be standing right next to Omega on the galaxy map.. it will be in a different possition.. which simply doesn't make any sense..
112. EDI.. why does she have a personality? Shes supposed to be a ship computer.. but she shure sounds like a human. And I don't mean the voice, I mean the way she talks. She doesn't sound like a computer.. in the way she pauses during a conversation..
113. The collectors edition bonus DVD was a rather big letdown.. yes, it has around 2 hours of bonus content, but the problem that I had with it was the Making Of. It simply wasn't a real making of. If I had to goes then it was simply recorded for Tv to promote the game, because none of those people actually talk about the real proces of making the game... all they do it talk about it like they would try to promote it. When I see/hear the term "Making Of" I excpet to see/hear people talk about the actual proces.. how they came up with the design and the ideas for this or that. How the did the sound/graphics/cutscenes/motion capture.. etc.. things that actually have something to do with making the game.. I hope that BW will learn from that and makre sure to have a real "Making Of" with the Ce of ME3..
Ok, the Making of was even shorter then expected.. it was only 24 minutes long.. yes, it did have a little bit of content that you might see usually inside of other making of's but it still wasn't as good as it should have been. Heck, the whole bonus DVD was roughly 1 hour long. Half of that were just old trailers and videos that we had already seen before the game was released.. one thing that also dissapointed me as that all of those fancy CGI trailers for a couple of characters weren't inclued on the DVD. You know, the ones where we get to see a pre-rendered face of one of our squad memebers talking about the mission or Shepard.. I liked those videos.. why weren't they on the bonus disc?
114. I already mentioned this one time, but this is a bit different.. or perhaps not. If the player choses to continue to play after beating the collectors then hes able to walk around the Normandy. The problem is that the Normandy just looks like always. No damage, nothing.. at the end of the game we can clearly see a holes in the body of the Normandy, we even were fighting those flying balls inside of her which went through the armor of the Normandy leaving big holes, yet when we continue to play the game thers nothing like that to see.. why not? Its the same as with Grunt and the smashed window, whats the point of all that if the Normandy stays the same while playing inside of her?
115.
===============
Suggestions / Things I would like to see in ME3:
1. I would love to be able to cary more then just one gun of each weapon type. Lets face it. We usually have 4 guns straped to our back. why not allow us to simply have the 4 guns on our back that we would like to have? For example.. I would much rather walk around with two assult rifles then one and a pistol.. that way I could just use the second one if the first one runs out of ammo. Not to mention that different guns have different effects.. meaning that I could use Assult rifle 1 to take down someones shield and AR 2 to finish off a enemy. It might sound odd, but try thinking about it.
2. I would like to see some of the items that we have used in the previous two games return or at last be mentioned in some way or form. For example, I bought the CE for ME2 for the PC and got a special gun/armor with it. How about havind that thing in the third game and be actually able to take of the helm and perhaps even upgrade/mody if? Or have it in some other way in the game.. Just do something with the stuff that we had in the previous games...
3. Allow us PC gamers to turn off mouse acceleration and allow us to adjuste the mouse sensivity. We could do that in the first game.. why not in the second one? Aren't sequels supposed to improve on the things instead of making them worse? It was awful for me as a PC gamer to try and fight with your mouse acceleration just like I was fighting the enemies in the game..
4. Better texture quality. For gods sake, we have a PC. Let us use it to get the most out of your games. The first mass effect had plenty of blocky textures. I was happy to see that BioWare improved them in the sequel but there were still textures that were blocky. So please, give us higher qualty textures instead of giving us probably the same ones you use on the console version.
Note: Made a pool to see how many people would like better quality textures.. http://social.biowar...51&poll_id=9242
5. Give us the Makoto back. Scaning planets was nice and all, but how about bringing back the Makoto? I enjyoed driving around in it. Sure the controls were slugish and it was the first car that would actually drive when you press left or right rather then just steering in that direction but it was still fun.. The only thing I would have liked to see would have been more stuff to do on each planet. Or more stuff to see. If not even whole cities.. How about allowing us to do both in the third game? People who don't feel like going down in the car could just scan the planet and people who would want it could go down. Sure they might miss out on some content, but so what? The games all about choices, right? =)
6 . Give the squad members all 4 weapons.. like they used to have in the first game. Once more this was one of the downgrades. Why did they only have 2 weapons each?
7. This might count as nr. 6 but whatever... I hated the interface when I would press down shift. Why did you have to uper up a weapon menu when I roll over my mouse over it? Why not have it open at all times? That was so annoying.. not to metnion that I was only able to change my gun one time each time I would press shift. What was the point of that? If I would accidently chose the wrong weapon I would have to unpause the game and pause it agian only to chose the right weapon. That needs to be fixed in the third game!
8. Radiochat.. Fix it. Why would I hear someone through the radio chat if I am standing right next to them? I'm assuming that that was just a bug or glitch in the game but its still odd.
9. Homosexual options. This is probably the weirdest thing your going to hear from me. But you got that in Dragon Age. Why not have it in Mass Effect? I might not be a homosexual, but I still would liek to see this option in the game. Don't tell me that Shepard is supposed to be a ladies men like Kratos or certain other game characters in other franchises.. Or at last give us a explanation as to why it can't be done. We see characters in the game all the time interacting with each other who aren't the same race.. so it can't be that.. heck, you get to do it with aliens anyway, so why not do it with male aliens?
10. Remove rolling over cover or improve it, but do something about it. I was so annoyed by this that I had no idea what I would have to do at at last a one spot in the game until I realized that I had to roll over something to proceed. This was a useless addition to the game. So either give us a jump or allow the character to roll over cover by simply press against it, aka just moving towards it after beaing near it would just trigger Shepard to automaticaly move over it or climb on to something.Same would apply when his in cover. Just press up/foward and he leaps over/onto it instead of having to press two buttons at once to do it.. two buttons just made it too complicated. Besides that.. the implementation was awfully weak, because I found myself plenty of times running to cover only to try to roll over it which wasn't possible despite the cover looking exactly the same as all the other cover. There was no visual cue as to why I shouldn't be able to roll over it. It was mostly annoying during battles, where I would try to roll over cover to run to the next cover, but instead I only quit cover standing there catching bullets..
11. Skipping cutscenes - Why would I wanna do that in the game unless I have already seen them? Please make sure to ask us if we actually want to skip a cutscene before skipping it. I would suggest that you simply ask us if we actually wanna skip the cutscene unless we have already seen it. And checking if we have seen a cutscene or not shouldn't be that hard. It would ismply require a line of code and thats it..
