I finally got used to characters/liking them when they started dieing.
Very, very sad. (Seriously, when it came down to the last guy, I cried out when he got .. erm, shanked.)
First Halo game I ever finished though (in pink armor, of course).

I can't remember what happened ...
**On a side note, I think this is the first Halo game I've actually really enjoyed too. Even though I knew what was going to happen *my brothers read the books, so they told me everything ...*
Still haven't hijacked a banshee though

The death of Kat took me by surprise. But the deaths of the other members were fairly "meh", I guess that's because of the little connection I felt with them, they barely share a couple of scenes with Noble 6...
The deaths of Johnson and Miranda were far more sad.

I think as the team dwindled down I was getting more depressed. I didn't want to be alone...

I'm still trying to get the "If they came to hear me beg" achievement...

Uggh, you can say that again. I've finished through the start of 'Tip of the Spear' in Legendary solo, but now I'm wishing I hadn't bothered trying for that achievement. I don't think I'm going the have the patience to work through the rest... plus, I think New Vegas will monopolize all my gaming time.Lord_Valandil wrote...
I didn't like to be alone, because the Elites would kick my ass in seconds. In the end, I finished it on Heroic...Legendary is impossible, just impossible.

Jorge's was too, but for a Halo freak like me it felt terribly clichèd- staying behind to blow up stuff has already happened at least three times in the expanded universe.
Emile went out like a badass ("I'm ready! How about you?"), and redeemed himself for the one-liner spamming.
And Six... well, Six completely stole the show. When the cutscene ended I was half emotional (it was the end of the Halo saga, dammit) and half "Duuuuuuuuude! *air punch*"

Also, Jun got off easy.
What did you all think about the *your helmet here* scene at the beginning of the game? I kind of wish they hadn't spoiled my death at all, even thought I knew it was more than likely going to be how the game ended. Maybe it was just me.

Legendary is hard but it can be done.Lord_Valandil wrote...

As for the achievement thats the one with landing on the Elite isn't it? I think thats a bit bugged it took me about 35 attempts to get it and in that time I performed it around 4 times before unlocking it. My mate hasn't been able to get it at all and I've seen him pull off the maneuver a couple of times.

I don't think I'd ever be able to finish Legendary on my own. Just started on Heroic.
I tell you though ... I love chasing down the hammer guys. I love the hammer. That one mission when we're by ourselves was probably my favourite. Hammers everywhere!
This is one of the few games where I actually find it funny when I get killed.

Go into the skulls and turn on the one that gives explosions 3x the force then dying gets really funny. I had it on the whole way through my legenday solo play through, I spent a lot of time as a flying corpse...Inside_Joke wrote...
Legendary is ... fun. I've only played the first mission on co-op mind you, but I still love it. Took an hour or so to do. Finally we both decided to just run in the middle of fights with stickies. It worked

(Make it Rain, An Honor Serving, Cool File Bro)
As for deaths, I actually thought they were done rather well. Even Jorge, with the dog tag scene in the next mission. (Though I thought he may have swapped his "J" for an "F" during his final mission, if you know what I mean.) The only death that took me some time to get used to was Kat. So anticlimactic.
For the record: Legendary can be done. You just need to have a willingness to turn on the Cowbell skull and save all the videos to laugh at the wierdest deaths ever. And rage about "If they came to hear me beg." (I got that by accident, after two hours of trying to get it. Jackass game.)
Oh, and I usually mute other players when in matchmaking. When I decided to un-mute for a game, the first thing I heard was:
"I'm a dinosaur!"

Everyone is making me tempted to try reach, but I have played Halo 1, 2 and 3 and dilked all of them. For once, is this one realy worth all the hype it has recieved? Or would It be a waste of my money becuase I didn't like the previous ones?

I didn't like the story or the characters, and the muiltiplayer is what stole the show, the only games I buy for multiplayer are the Left 4 dead games. I probably wouldn't mind Halo if it wasn't rated so high, when friends tell me ''it's the best game ever'' it is easy to get disapointed.
If the story is great, the characters are realy fleshed out well, and the single player aint short, I will be happy.

If you don't like the Halo universe then Reach won't change anything for you. Its a more personal story most of which has probably already been spoiled for you in this thread. But if your not already invested in it then Reach probably won't change that. They are also genetically enhanced super soldiers basically raised to fight so theres only so much personality you can give them in a 12 hour game. You can always rent it and decide for yourself without the risk of shelling out big bucks.Funkcase wrote...
