I love my shotguns, but it only takes three shots from the needle rifle to kill a brute.

I second the needlers as anti-brute weaponry. The grenade launcher does a pretty decent job too even on Legendary. Brute are alot easier to take down that Elites the only time I had alot of trouble with them was right at the end when they come in big waves and thats only because they were being too stupid to fall for my tactics.

Against brutes, I aim for the head with a DMR. Two shots to remove a helmet, one more to kill. Or I just supercombine needle rifle shots.



Elites are generally harder than brutes. Except for brute chieftans, who have armor, helmet and shields. Yuck.



Hunters are what kill me. I never finished H1, but I could kill them with the pistol. Hunters in Reach need 12-15 sniper rifle shots. Wraiths are easier to kill.

They are the go to weapon if your having Brute problems. Often they will stand still and let you just dump enough needles into them to make them explode and with the needle rifle they don't even need to be standing still you have a few seconds to get 3 rounds into them and BOOM! Dead Brute.

Against Hunters: I do REALLY well when simply meleeing them in the back. Shotgun works too.

All you have to do is step back after every hit/shot.



It is worth noting that i am q CQB fanatic.

By the way, I agree on the Needle Rifle's usefulness as an anti-ape gun. I'm just saying that watching them explode from afar isn't as fun as buckshotting their asses into oblivion.

Are you using the needle rifle or the needler? What kind of problem are you having with them?

Finally changed my helmet. yay!

Question about the Elite Zealot: does he ever actually get away? I've only played that level twice, but both times it never seemed like he was trying to escape.Just stood there and shot at me.

Yeah, he can run away.
I got him in Heroic on my first try, however, while playing the same mission in normal, he did get away.

Forge is difficult to talk about though alot of people don't use it at all (me for example). Plus just suggesting a topic on here doesn't really work you would be better off making some sort of statement about it then letting people discuss or ignore it if they are interested. Its not that your being ignored its just that once a thread gets going you can't really keep control of it like that.

when i did that level i killed him before he got away then i got the achiement and i was like "wtf its just an elite!

Who else just punches Elites to kill them? *honestly, if I don't have some sort of scoped weapon, I just give up and melee them. Shooting and missing for 5 minutes bothers me ._.*
