 Whats your Opinion "Poll"

What race created the reapers?
Did they turn on there creators?
Did a advance race create the reaper ships like the normandy was but it went rouge?
Where the Keepers the first Civilization to be indoctrinated by the reapers?
Why do the reapers only harvest one galaxy and not the Universe?

Leave A Serious?Mature comment of what you think started it all!

In my view the reapers were once a "normal" race and advanced extremely far technologically. At some point they had the stupid idea of turning themselves into sentient starships because they thought it would be cool. It wasn't and they hated it so much they wanted to share the pain with other races. Thus they went and exterminated the protheans and possibly others. Saddened they couldn't merge the protheans into their little club, they're trying to do that with humans currently.

I believe they were simply a type of AI created by an advanced race for all the same reasons the Quarians created the Geth. Possibly the first ultra advanced race in the galaxy. Much like the Geth they became sentient and turned on their creators. After wiping their creators from existence in a long protracted war, they eventually upgraded and evolved on their own terms. Building ever more complex designs of mobile platforms that they would inhabit rather than the simple robot designs their creators had given them. Much later they encountered new organic civilizations and clashes occured. Ultimately the AIs decided that organic life was better off serving the machines in any way they could, much as their creators had done to them. Their unchecked growth and tech advances lead them to create the enormous reapers out of strong organic based materials that were ultimately stripped from the races annihilated and assimilated. Trying their best to ensure no organic race is left unchecked long enough to possibly stop them.

After typing all of that out a thought comes to mind. The whole "salvation through destruction" concept just brought up a type of videogame/movie/book cliche in my head. I'm thinking, what if they decided to start harvesting organics due to their unpredictable behavior. Organic species are predestined to war due to factions that inevitably develop. The reapers could be the cliche enemy who seeks to end all war by destroying life. Could have been that they were machines of war used by one organic race against another. After becoming sentient and wishing to decide their own fate, they sided with neither faction and set out to end anyone attempting to use them or others.

rick james, latarian Milton, Double Rainbows, Epic Beard Man, lol catz, Glen Beck, 2 girls 1 cup, Leroy Jenkins, the Star Wars kid, O RLY owl, and Rick Astley are all probably the blame but my serious guess is probably humans.

Themselves. Probably a race that got scared of their mortality and sought to escape it becoming the mind and body of living ships.

I really hope I´m right because it´s the only way I´ll get to hit the idiots who thought creating genocidal dreadnoughts was a good idea.

Many races.  Which was the first?  Lost to the shrouds of time.

As I see it, a civilization created a super-being mechanical-construct to upload its consciousnesses into.  Indoctrination is the process by which the controlling mind forces the others within itself to cooperate and coordinate, as the cells within our bodies do.

As they said in ME2, it is our "evolutionary destiny."  The next step from being a human is being a super-human-collective... a reaper.

Now, contrast the Reapers with the Geth.  Same MO... many consciousnesses living in a single body, but there's no forced control.  The Geth collaborate and come to conclusions.

As each reaper comes to pass, they leave the galaxy and let life develop anew so that they can pick the strongest species and help them to "ascend" and join the Reaper society as well.

The reason that they want Shepherd is that they feel that he possesses the ability to wield Indoctrination... think about it... all of those insane paragon and renegade checks that force people to do your bidding...

The volus made them hoping they wouldn't be the most hated species in the galaxy anymore if something like the reapers existed.

I still reckon it's going to be either humans or quarians/geth in some form of whacky temporal loop. The dark matter that the quarian spotted in that sun will cause a tear in space/time which drags the geth back to the start of the universe and starts off the whole shebang.

Yeah, I think that an ancient race sought to transcend their mortal, physical form and meld themselves into a machine consciousness so they can reach the pinnacle of evolution.

Then seeing the weaknesses of organic evolution that existed throughout the millennia, they decided to give every organic being the "gift" of joining their race.

Throughout their eons of existances, they saw life becoming increasingly weak and pathetic (comparing to themselves), and Darwinism took effect and they started to exterminate all that resisted, seeing them as a cancer of existence.

More and more this view became apparent, and the galactic cycle of extinction started.

(That's my view of the story, anyway.  :D)

Oh boy, I know I'm gonna sound crazy.

But the reapers say organics are a mistake right, so maybe they evolved as mechanical machine and aren't really an AI, but a race of machines that were the first race in the galaxy, also the reapers accidently created organic life possibly.

Who knows, I'm just speculating, I think to myself bioware has to have a big twist on this.

Not AI, but organic beings that evolved to the point where they were able to transcend their minds to machine. From their the machines themselves evolved.

The asari made the reapers, maybe... or were made by the reapers... or perhaps made by the same people that made the reapers.

The Asari were just incidently the first Race to discover the Citidel.(or rather they claim they are)

The Asari just happen to beable to mate with any species.....

The Asari just happen to have a relegion that beleives all is one(Each reaper is a nation......)

The Asari just happen to have this thing where if they breed with themselves they can drain the life out of you and consume it... and hints that they are not ready to reveal there destiny.

The Asari just happen to be attractive to all known sentient life.. Which can only be explained by some type of field that works much the same like reapers indoctoration.

Hormones and looks cant explain it.

Due to how the Asari mate.... its in there intrest that all other known sentient life in the galaxy gets wiped out so new species can advance.. which they can then mate with.. otherwise they would end up with only a few dominant species and lack bio diverisity for there DNA randomization.

ITs my Opinion that the Asari are either the decendents of the Orginal Reaper creators or somehow linked.

Ohhhh and

All Reapers are MALE(so far)

All Assari are female.......
