For me it was Baldur's Gate I.  Played every bioware game since.

Baldur's Gate was my first. I have other games by them, but my preference is has alwyas been D&D based gamee, until WoTC decided create 4th Edition rules... that leaves me DA for Fantasy genre gaming or simply continuing on with NWN and NWN 2 (Obsidian) for the forseeable future.

Baldur's Gate, but didn't really play it more than an hour or two. Second game was Mass Effect six years later.

DAO was my first Bioware. Though my husband liked Baldur's Gate back in the day. It seems there aren't any BG copies you can run on current machines. I was hoping to get one for Mac OSX but no dice.

Baldur's Gate...which would also probably be my favourite Bioware game, though an unhealthy dose of nostalgia may be involved there.

Also played every Bioware game since, even MDK2.
Now I just need to play Shattered Steel, which I'll most likely do one day as it is available on GoG after all.
