I have MDK2, but Baldur's Gate was my first CRPG and I haven't played MDK2 yet.

First I played, Icewind Dale 1

That was Black Isle Studios, not BioWare.

Mixed with the FR scenarios. Then it´s either NWN or KotoR, can´t remember.

Dragon Age. Loved it.

Then I immediately bought Mass Effect. I like sci-fi over fantasy, so of course I got it :)

Dragon Age Origins. I didn't even know the game existed to begin with, until my mate said it was a good RPG, and I eventually checked it out, then bought it, along with all the downloadable content available. =)

Well worth the money, I got weeks of play-time with that game.

The first one made by them I ever played was Baldur's Gate (the original without the expansion), not long after I played MDK 2. Which is kind of funny because it was quite a few years after they were released. (Granted I always wanted and had seen much of Baldur's Gate since it came out).

Even more odd I just finally finished BG this year... So I delayed in getting and delayed in beating it *sigh*

Baldur's Gate, and the series still remains my favourite. I didn't play it right when it came out, rather I think a couple of years after that.

Baldur's Gate was developed by BioWare and published by Black Isle Studios if I recall correctly, and the Infinity engine the game was built on was developed by BioWare, which was later used as the game engine for other games, such as Planescape: Torment.

BTW, I also have MDK2 and Shattered Steel, I just never played them through, not my types of games truth be told.

Interplay published Baldur's Gate (According to Gamespot), but if I recall Black Isle may have helped with Baldur's Gate in some fashion.

KOTOR in the summer of 2005. I played it after my roommate in college won an Xbox, and spent from the moment I woke up to the minute I fell asleep playing that game. I bought Jade Empire a little while later...once I realized it was made by the same people.

I can remember actively making fun of a friend of mine for playing Baldurs Gate and getting so excited about Neverwinter Nights. I can also remember seeing ads for MDK 2, but at the time, I was living overseas, so getting it wasn't a realistic expectation.

Baldur's Gate (the original).  Of course, that lead me to play all the expansions/follow-on variants.  They were great, and led me to DA.

Baldur's Gate. Before this, I was a casual gamer. Bit of tetris here, Doom there, Simon the Sorceror on occasion. Then Baldur's Gate came out and I've been obsessed with CRPGs ever since. Damn you, Bioware!
