I've never seen a guide yet for this game that is worth squat. I got sick of the "oops there was a totally critical thing you missed and you can't go back for it ever again" piece of BS in the early game and started looking up guides. Nothing I have found is even remotely complete. Everyone's got all the origin stories, but I don't know if even they are complete. After that it is very much catch as catch can. Very few of the side quests are even mentioned, and apparently there are many that are very easy to ruin inadvertently, or have multiple branches. The other thing I find infuriating is all of them keep on referring in passing to other quests they do not detail.

Ms 762, thank you!
For everyone else wanting to find the boots where they belong:

http://social.bioware.com/project/670/

That mod puts 'em properly in the game.

Hello, as you've probably gathered the Ancient Elven Boots are not where they should be on the PC version, which is in the Chantry's wardrobe in Lothering. This isn't a problem on consoles fortunately and can be circumvented thanks to the clever work of some end-user modding. We are aware of this problem, we are working on it and we have our eyes firmly fixed on a possible culprit: a very guilty looking Mabari hound...

Lol! Gotta watch those Mabari hound's, less they eat something Really Important. Well i'm atleast glad that this whole thing is an actual problem. I thought it was something in the game's coding that was randomizing item locations. Atleast that's what i always thought it was whenever i'd start a new game on KoTR 2 (btw that was a really good game and i hope a third one will be made someday) Posted Image

I think the boots were removed from the PC version. They are 'supposed' to be in the Lothering cabinet.

The boots missing from the Chantry at Lothering is a bug in the PC version of the game.

You can trade multiple times with the Hermit so long as he does not run out of questions to ask you. He has about 6 or 7 questions, after each one you are given a choice to question him with one of the choices being to ask about trading items.
