My name is Lillith, I used to be Lillith Cousland but that changed the day I survived massacre of my family, and the joining to become a Grey Warden. It is said that wardens surrender their titles, and their possessions, but no one ever mentions our souls in the bargain. It is a surrender that goes deeper than any except the wardens know, it is a high price but as I have seen with my minds eye the danger that confronts us all, the overwhelming darkness set to explode on this world in fire and blood, chaos unleashed, I have no choice.

I have been saved from an almost certain death by a mysterious creature who goes by the name Flemeth. I can not be certain whether it is the Flemeth of legend, but from the power I have seen, the depth of knowledge in her eyes, it is a distinct possibility. The people of Thedas, the people of Feraldin, my companion and fellow warden named Allistair and I certainly do owe Flemeth a debt of gratitude for saving us from death at the Tower of Ostagar. It is because of this debt that I am here again before the creature who calls herself Flemeth to pay a bit of interest on a debt owed, and get a few answers that I must have. I have come to return Flemeth’s grimwoir and give her a warning.

I found the book in the mages tower while it was over run with abominations. The book is a small part of why I am here. I am here because Morrigan the daughter of Flemeth has asked me to kill her. It is a task I will not do as I can not repay a debt so great as my life and those in Feraldin who count on me to be a Grey Warden owe Flemeth, with the treachery of a knife in the back. In truth I do not trust either woman wholly, but as I am standing here because of Flemeth’s intervention in what would have been my death, she will get the opportunity to explain before I render a judgment. Whether it is as a Cousland, a noble or a warden I undertake this task, it is by this authority I will have the answers I seek or there will be hell to pay.

Lillith, Dog, Shale and Leliana walk up to the clearing that holds Flemeth’s little hut.

Lillith; Hello Flemeth, I hope that you have been well.

Flemeth; Warden I did not expect to see you so soon with the blight still loose upon the land.

Lillith; In my travels I have located a book that according to Morrigan is one of yours, and I have come to return it.

Flemeth;  Surely warden you have not come all this way to return what I once lost long ago and Morrigan was willing to part with so easily.

Lillith;  Morrigan had no choice in the matter as it was my hound who located the text in Morrigan’s belongings after I allowed her to see it and when I asked for it back she refused claiming it was lost. Dog returned it to me, and as of a few days ago we no longer travel together. Have you seen her? I am wary of her intentions.

Flemeth;  No I have not, but I do expect that if you allowed her to read this text that she would not return to me.

Lillith; She was allowed to read the tome and when she found out that I intended to return the text to you as soon as was feasible, she became quite hostile I was afraid she would force me to kill her such was her expressed violence and desire for this text. She would not explain to me the reasons for this only that I was a fool to trust you, she said I should kill you. Like trusting her is any less foolish it is because of this that I am hear to find out why.

Flemeth; So I see warden. If I refuse to answer your questions to your satisfaction  will you exact retribution on an old woman?

Lillith; Only if given no choice, I would prefer answers but I am afraid the urgency of the situation I find myself in requires the answers I seek and the means to those answers I leave to you. It is because of the debt of life that I ask once but I will not be denied, to much relies on answers I do not have, yet. I am sorry, but I must insist

Flemeth; You would come to me and demand answers? You would dare to threaten me to get those answers?

Lillith; I have little time for games and less patience for them. Is it true that you possess the bodies of your daughters which allows you to be timeless, and is this what you have planned for Morrigan? If this is indeed true I can recuse myself from what is obviously a mother daughter spat and get back to important matters.

Flemeth; You would allow me the opportunity to posses Morrigan’s body as my new vessel when the time is right? How kind you are warden to allow me to keep what is mine to begin with. Morrigan is not the prize I seek, she is not the reason I sent her with you warden, the prize is much larger than you can imagine. But you already know that do you not warden?

Lillith; Ahh so it is true you seek to capture the soul of the arch demon by a ritual of blood magic. To possess the soul of an old god would be quite a prize for you indeed. You sent Morrigan along in the hopes that she could convince the wardens to allow this because of the fear of death as the motivator.

Flemeth; Very astute warden I see Morrigan let slip more than she had intended even though we agreed before she left to keep as much from you as possible.

Lillith; Morrigan knew why she was sent with us?

Flemeth; Knew, (chuckling) my dear warden this was Morrigan’s plan from the beginning, a plan to save herself by giving me an even more powerful vessel than she would have made, the soul of the old god was to be mine in exchange for Morrigan’s life. Now I fear I shall need to collect what is mine poor poor Morrigan.

Lillith;  I will not allow this to happen, I will not allow this perversion of nature to continue, the soul of the old god will be destroyed it is a must to ensure that the problem is solved now instead of allowing it to grow, possibly beyond any means to deal with it later.

Flemeth;  It is a shame warden, I had really hopped that we could arrive at some accomodation concerning the ritual. Morrigan had an idea of her fate as a vessel for me later, it was through this ritual she would gain the child she would surrender as my new vessel saving herself in the process. I never figured on the Cousland idea of nobility and dedication to duty to be so strong in you. Most people faced with their own deaths would not hesitate to chance anything to ensure their survival, it is not a mistake I intend to repeat.

Lillith; So be it old woman as I am here and would rather deal with a problem now than allow it to grow unchecked prepare yourself, if it is your intention.

Flemeth;  Since you choose to deny me my ritual you leave me with little choice I shall have ensure your silence and locate my wayward daughter so she may fulfill the task I created her for. What better form than one that has known my own body, that I have instructed, that trusts. But now that you know my secret warden, I hope that your companion Allistair is up to the task of the blight as I can not let you leave with that knowledge. Knowledge that I have guarded for centuries before your house was born. Knowledge that gives you the power to interfere with my plans, my survival, you shall pay for your interference, how I should have listened to Morrigan when she suggested I leave you to your fate sparing the male warden only.

At this point Flemeth starts the transformation from human to high dragon.

Flemeth; I was here before the Tevinter crawled out from under their rocks, before the Dailish dropped from the trees of their primordial forest, before the dwarves learned to dig, I was here before the creature of this world called man learned to walk upright  and was eating bugs. I am Flemeth the legend of old and you warden have provoked my ire.

The golem Shale charges in to battle grabbing the dragon by the throat landing 3 vicious right hand blows to the dragon’s head. The dragon tail whips the golem knocking her on her back, rearing up on her hind legs with a beat of her wings and a mighty roar she crashes down on the supine golem with such force it ripples the ground. Had it been a normal man they would have been crushed, but as this is Shale the child of stone she was merely stunned.

The force of the blow radiating out in a circle it having been slightly dissipated by the time it reached Leliana, did not prevent the ranger from summoning a giant forest bear to our aid before the wave of earth knocks her and the warden from their feet. Dog and the bear hurl themselves at the hind quarters of the dragon in a clash of teeth, claw and bone they distract the dragon for a few vital seconds allowing Shale to regain her feet.

Lillith who through many years of dedicated practice of her art summons the chill of a thousand winters, turning this force over in her mind, she allows it to build almost beyond her control, churning the chaos of raw pure unfocused energy into a force she will focus on the form of the dragon. As she releases this energy at the dragon the air around the dragon shimmers and smokes with the cold, freezing the dragon solid for a few seconds. Due to the internal heat of the dragon the spell is quickly over come, the dragon turns to Lillith to exact her revenge.

With a mighty roar the dragon launches herself at the warden if not for the timely delivery of an arrow from her lovers bow, pinning the dragon to the earth Lillith would have been swallowed whole. This moment of immobility allows Shale to grab the dragon by the tail pulling the dragon back away from the women of flesh and bone who would not be able to resist the brute force of the dragon for long.

Flemeth with a beat of her wings turns on the golem raking her claws across the golems chest leaving 3 furrows as wide and as deep as a mans hand, staggering the creature of rock. Sensing victory Flemeth draws in a mighty breath and with a great roar engulfs the golem in a sheet of flame obscuring her from view for a few intense seconds. It is this heat in combination with the damage the dragon has already inflicted that drops Shale to a knee. Sensing the time for a kill the dragon centers herself to deliver the final blow to kill the golem.

Seeing her friend Shale is in need of desperate assistance, knowing that the dragon will not be dissuaded from delivering her final blow to the golem and upon the destruction of Shale the rest of the party will soon fall, Lillith summons the healing forces of nature. Again turning the incantation over in her mind, allowing it to build she infuses the spell with some of her own life energy and directs it to the golem. The spell lands with a shock wave. It instantly cools the red hot almost liquid Shale. It rebuilds the damaged surfaces and revitalizes her friend’s life force.

Denying the dragon her hard fought moment of victory over the daughter of stone comes at a price, the warden has again attracted the ire of the dragon, and if not for the bear summoned by Leliana the warden would be the dragon’s first victim. Instead the bear desperately launches herself at the throat of the dragon, latching on she dangles like a living necklace. It is with a great roar having again been denied her prizes first the hurt golem and now the warden the dragon shakes loose the bear and with a claw renders the bear open killing it instantly.

The mabari hound sensing the desperation of the situation, with the intelligence of it’s breeding the hound knows it is foolish to try and stand toe to toe with a high dragon. The hound using its speed and agility starts to nip and claw at the dragon’s hind quarters forcing the dragon through great annoyance to divert herself from her quarry yet again, buying the women much needed time to regain a bit of distance from the dragon.

While the dragon is distracted with the hound Shale as a creature of living rock effortlessly reaches down and lifts a boulder bigger than the hut of Flemeth from the soil and hurls it at the dragon. It crashes into the dragon, in a shower of gravel, it knocks the dragon over stunned for a few seconds.

Due to the immobility of being stunned the dragon is an easy target, Leliana in a fluid motion born of repetition draws an arrow and with a whisper it is released, the arrow sings a song of death as it closes the distance to the dragon for it’s purpose is to kill and her aim is true catching the dragon in the left eye.

Lillith knowing this is but a brief respite from the ferocity of the high dragon summons the elemental forces of earth and launches her own fist of rock at the stunned dragon, which lands just as the dragon is regaining her feet. Stunned twice by the ferocity of the counter attack Flemeth is just regaining her feet a second time when Shale leaps at the dragon and landing on the neck just behind the head of the regaining dragon pins her head to the ground, Shale then lands a series of earth shattering blows to the head of the dragon.

With a great sigh and a hiss of steam the dragon that was once the timeless Flemeth succumbs to her injuries, returns to the form once known as Flemeth before she dissipates into a cloud of shimmering dust that is caught and carried away in the slight breeze. The warden tuned into the realm of magic as a mage of the circle she was taught to feel, to manipulate, to control she can feel the presence of Flemeth slowly recede from the area. Unsure if Flemeth is dead or just gone from the area the warden leads her party away from the area but not before searching the hut and setting it a flame.

Back at camp

Leliana; So do you think Flemeth is gone?

Lillith;  Flemeth is gone from the area and I do not think she will bother us again for awhile, but she is not dead if that is what you ask.

Leliana; What do you intend to do?

Lillith; I do wish things had turned out different, I did not want to fight Flemeth or Morrigan for that matter. I can not accept this old god madness, I will not allow it to happen the cost would be to high the risk to great. Knowing Flemeth’s true nature if I intend to stop her I may have little choice in Morrigan’s fate, she may need to die if for no other reason than to prevent Flemeth from gaining her next vessel.

Leliana: It is sad really, had Morrigan been able to trust and worthy of that trust I feel we would have been willing to help her against Flemeth. But to find out that this was her plan to save herself quite possibly at the cost of many lives in the future should Flemeth get what she wants, it is horrific to consider.

Lillith; I did not trust Morrigan and yes it is sad that she is as much a victim of Flemeth as the rest of the world might be but yes the level some people will go to ensure their survival is quite terrible. It really now becomes a matter of who we find first, Morrigan or Flemeth for it does seem that to stop Flemeth I may need to kill Morrigan. It seems that fate can be a cruel mistress to us all.

Leliana; Here my love come to bed and I will show you a cruel mistress.

Lillith; I am not sure if now is the time for such play.

Leliana; No time for such play? The burden you carry is great. Allow me to soothe your worries if but for awhile, the burden you carry is one I can not take, one I do not relish, and it is one that pains me to see you struggle with. But considering the many that rely on your success we will do what we must. Enough of this talk. Tonight there is only you, me, the stars, and the song my heart sings for you. Let us sing together this night for the morrow may not allow it.

Followed by this from a post made several days ago that seemed to provoke much dismay from Morrigan fans. Here is the link to the original post. But i tried tie this and the pervious post together as to why Morrigan must die.

http://social.biowar...88817/9#5017952

Or at least thats what I hope- have the last scene be the world at war, the Chantry in ruins, Flemeth doing who knows what. Pan over to some dilapidated Eluvian in some Elven/Tevinter ruin only to see a foot step out of the portal, slowly pan up to reveal Morrigan. The camera futher pans back to show Lillith standing next to Leliana with an arrow drawn. With a nod Lillith signals to Leliana to release the arrow which is released with a slow motion following of the arrow while in flight. The arrow slams into Morrigan's forehead snapping it back spraying warm blood on the shimmering surface of the once fluid Eluvian. Morrigan then falls to her knees, then falls to her face with the protruding arrow forcing her head back at an unnatural angle, as a pool of blood starts to collect around her still warm but lifeless body. The warden then turns to her love, with a peck on the cheek and a slap on the ass says," half of the problem is solved now let us go find Flemeth and end this nonsense once and for all".
