Good to see I'm not the only one who equipped the Family Sword and Shield of Highever for this fight. I never could part with these heirlooms, and using them against the traitor felt "right". It was more of a somber moment for me, though. As good as it was to kill him, I agree that "revenge killings" often just aren't very satisfying for some reason.

I was also a little disappointed that not one of my party members had anything to say to me. I helped them with all their emotional baggage, and not any of my friends in my party said one thing to me after I killed the man who destroyed my entire family.
This. This is a general serious complaint I have about NPC interaction in this game. Two complaints, actually.
1) Wynne is the only person who gives a damn about the protagonist, everyone else is just me-me-me in their talks with the PC. No one except Wynne asks what it means to the PC to be a Grey Warden, how s/he is coping, about the vaunted origin story, or about
anything.
Maybe a throwaway half-sentence when you're first introduced, then it's back to me-me-me.
2) The party members are way too silent. Most of the time they might as well not even be there in terms of interaction with and reaction to other characters and events.
Wouldn't this have been a perfect moment for the active party members to show some bleeding support to their leader, just once?
