How are the talent points going to work in DA?

- Are there different points for the group dexerity, strenght, magic etc. and the talents, like stealth for a rogue, and the inbetween talents, like combat training?

- how many points a level do you get?

thanks in advance

3 points to put towards Str dexterity cunning etx per level. One skill every level for rogues, or one every other level for mages and warriors, and one talent every level for everyone.

soo if you level up twice, you get 6 points each for str and dexerity etc, four skill points for rogues, and three for mages and warriors

I was curious about that as well, playing Journeys kind of threw me off a bit, I figured it would have been similar to Mass Effect, more pts at low levels then it lowers the higher lvls you reach.

Nice quotes by the way, I was always half n half for Churchill, was a great leader during the war but his demeanor towards the Irish later on was awful, not just him just most of the leaders in that point in time, ruthless.

No, just 2 skill points for rogues, 1 for mages and warriors. Character creation aside:

3 stat points per level

1 talent per level

1 skill per level for rogues, 1 skill every odd level for mages/warriors

ah, so the talents are the screen before you see the warrior/mage/rogue specific talents class. ok.

still weird though, that mages and warriors get less points.

T'would be an interesting concept for a game to start out at 1st level and have the best stuff and maxed out stats and skills...etc. and as one levels up finds one doesn't need them and gradually loses them in lieu of intelligent decisions and the gradual evolution of peace and tranquility both in spirit and the world in general.

Are you sure? According to the Giantbomb PC quicklook video he got 2 talent points to spend upon leveling up his mage class character.

Exactly, that's what I saw in the video too, I thought the character got two talent points every time it goes one level up.

He possibly leveled twice or he gained like the 10th level where they may give you a one time bonus
like in ME when i reached 50th level instead of 1 skill point i got two
otherwise it will go like this
2 talents in character creation
1 skill at character creation
5 bonus attributes at character creation
for rogues
every level they get 3 attribute points 1 skill point and 1 talent point
for warrior and mage
every level they get 3 attribute points 1 skill point every 2 levels or half a skill point every level and 1 talent point
you get attribute points that are automatic from leveling from what i can tell using kiir as an example he got 21 or so points of attributes that did not come from spending the 3 points from leveling so my guess is depending on your class you get 1 stat point that is automatic and does not count toward the 3 you get every level.I am gonna guess it goes in the stats you get for choosing a class
warrior gets a bonus to strength dexterity and consitution
mage gets willpower and magic and cunning
rogue gets cunning dexterity and willpower
so one auto attribute point every level in one of those.*is my guess*

From what I recall, the video started with the levelup sign showing, and the first thing he did was level his character up. It's quite possible he was saving a spell from the previous level (we didn't see any of the actual level-gaining moments, remember).

Upon creation:

- 5 Attribute points to spend however you wish (Strength, Dexterity, Willpower, etc.)

- 2 free Skill points based on your race, class and origin.

- 1 free Talent point based on your race, class and origin.

- 1 Skill point to spend however you wish.

- 2 Talent points to spend however you wish.

Per level up:

- 3 Attribute points to spend however you wish (Strength, Dexterity, Willpower, etc.)

- 1 Skill point for Rogues at every level, 1 Skill point for Mages and Warriors every other level (Rogues are very skill-oriented in most games so I imagine this is why).

- 1 Talent point to spend however you wish.

The developers have implied that we may receive additional Attribute, Skill and Talent points due to accomplishments IG, such as a specific training quest for example.

The mage in Giant-Bomb's quicklook video has 1 Talent more than he should have for level 5, but only spent 3 Attribute points. I'm inclined to believe that he either got a free Talent point due to where he is at in the story or perhaps you gain an additional Talent point at certain levels (5th, 10th, and so on). Guess we won't really know until we get the game.

If you are asking what DA:O will use, then the answer is a simple disc check for the physical version of the game. The digital download versions will have their own DRM according to where you download, though.

DLC will require you to log in to your EA/BioWare account to get them.

Maybe when you level you can choose to increase your talents or skills...kinda like in DAJ

i could choose to not increase my talents and wait a few levels while still spending my attributes.

Ah, thank you very much, Aidron, this has made it clear. I got talents and skills confused. So, now I can go and plan every little levelup thingy :)
