I have this very strange problem. I downloaded ME1 again yesterday from steam, my original save games were still there but I wanted to start all over new. So I created a new character but when I completed everything and want to start my game, the game stays stuck on the loading screen.. I've been trying to create a new char for the past 1h45m but everytime I do so it stays on the loading screen (I always wait 5mins, once even 15mins and still nothing happend). I loaded one of my previous save games to see if I installed something wrong or whatever but they still worked fine, game was loaded in couple of secs..

So I have to end process with the windows task manager and it always says "Program not responding" but when I'm at the loading screen the mass relay is still moving (those 2 circles you know what I mean) so that didn't seem like "not responding" to me either. A reboot doesn't seem to solve it either.

Last thing I want to say is that I searched this forum extensively before posting here but I found no relevant threads, I tried everything I know that would solve my problem but even google didn't help me

Tried letting Steam verify the files for your game? Maybe something has corrupted your game files. For this possibility, right-click on the title for ME1 on the list of games you have with Steam, select "Properties" on the new list that appears, then click on the tab for "Local files" and finally click on the button for "Verify integrity of game cache". Wait to see the results, then start up ME1 anew.

Tried uninstalling ME1, rebooting and reinstalling the game? Put the folder for saves on the desktop first and check after uninstalling that all other ME1 files have been removed, and if they haven't, manually delete them, too. Then, when the game has been reinstalled, put that folder for saves back. See what happens.
