Hey everyone!

Can you tell me, how to replace Liara's face texture in Mass Effect 1 with the "new/current" one from ME2 Lair of the Shadow Broker?
I know about the TexMod, but I couldn't find any related mods, only Mass Effect 2 modification, but not for ME1. I would like to see the new face of Liara in the first Mass Effect aswell.
Could you help me out here?

This may not be exactly what your looking for but it could be worth a try.
ME1 & ME2 Versions available.

Thank you, I saw this one already, but for me, it was kinda scary looking, dunno why, but still.
I prefer Liara to have her eyebrows...:lol:

 Hm...

I'm a ****** when it comes to modding Mass Effect 2. It was recommended that I ask people in this forum about fixing my problem. Yeah, I'm new to this thread.

So, to the point: I downloaded a .tpf file from the modders' group so that I could use Morinth's asari commando outfit on my Shep. I downloaded TexMod and I seem to have successfully uploaded the .tpf, since it doesn't tell me otherwise, but when I go to my closet in the game it... doesn't show up.

Then I downloaded three other programs: ME2 Mod Manager, Miranda's Locker, and Notepad++ per the instructions here: http://social.biowar...487/blog/11293/. I followed those instructions, but rather than the commando armor showing up all I see is my Kestral armor and my evening outfit repeating twice on the slider. And when I push 9 on the numpad, it doesn't do anything.

Suggestions?

As an update, I tried to replace Miranda's model files with the Inferno armour in the hope that she could, essentially, be given armour on missions. The game won't work doing that though, so that one's a bust.

Do you mean uncompressing a PCC, then adding/replacing Inferno armor for Miranda's default armor and then recompiling it? (so far, its not possible to repack the PCC............. unless a new program exists that I have missed)
Then any attempt to use the edited PCC in ME2; results in a game crash every single "cotten-picken" time!!!!!

Phoenix and RGFrog it's nice to see that you keep the forum running. I don't have time these days. And we need a new challenging DLC coming up soon.. There is to much repeating questions.. Have a nice weekend, all gamers!

No no, I directly copied across the Inferno armour PCC file and renamed it as Miranda. When you select Miranda in your squad, it should then go to the screen where you can assign squad points/weapons but it doesn't. Instead it goes to black, but the program itself doesn't hang, so not sure what it's doing. Either way it becomes unplayable. Incidently this method does work, I've used it to add a Garrus model to the game which works perfectly.

Quick texture question. Is Shepard's skin under his/her clothing a separate texture, or does each outfit have it's own skin attached?

Eg: If I wanted to, say, put a scar on Shep's arm. Would I have to do one for the casual outfit, one for an alternate dress, one for the dress from Kasumi's mission, etc?

Don't know if it's true for all clothes, but the Cerberus casual uniform and the Alliance casual uniform come with hand and arm skin. There's only one set so quite likely if you put a scar on it it will show up on both arms.

Each texture or more specifically the model has the skin attached but un-editable.

hiya! i just got the game and wanna try some mods.

1. i'm still researching how to add them. so info on doing that would be appreciated. i had a buncha mods for Fallout 3 but this seems entirely different to mod.

2. but was also wondering if i'm going to be changing the ini. around, should i add the mods before i get all the DLC? or does the order in which i do that not matter? thank you!

3.  also, i downloaded a few DLC awhile back for the 360 but ended up not getting that game version and opting for the PC. they were some DLC like Umbra visor, Sentry Interface, Blood Dragon armor, ect. can i somehow use that stuff in my PC version of this game? i'm trying to link my Xbox Live gamertag now but it hasn't worked so far.

thanks!

It is indeed different; unlike Fallout 3/NV there is no GECK editor or the like when modding ME2. The term "Modding" is a little deceptive where ME2 is concerned and could be better considered "editing" instead. There are three types of modding/editing of ME2: Coalesced.INI, Texmod & Text files. Nothing can be added to ME2 but most things can just be changed:
QED: Modding/editing.

Since all modding besides Texmods modifys the Coalesced. INI it would be adviseable to back it up (personally, I make 3 back-ups of it). DLC can be installed before or after you mod but best if done before you start.  DLC's are also modable.

Those DLC exist for the PC as well. As far as changing gamer tag I don't know (I have no console system :unsure:).

I'd advise looking at post #1 on page #1 of this thread and checking out its links.;)

just saw this...

I have never gotten Morinth's or LIara's outfits to show in the Captain's cabin locker. The only way I can load them on the Normandy is to bring up the Miranda's Locker and change outfits that way.

thank you much. yeah i see that much of the content i had for the 360 version is available to the PC ver but not all. like i had Terminus weap & armor. M29-insicor, Recon hood. those don't seem to be for the PC anywhere. also much of the stuff i already have on my 360 harddrive, i'd have to pay for again to get it on PC. Blood armor, Aegis pack, ect. was just hoping there'd be a way to get that 360 stuff to my PC since they're linked and i just got my gamertag linked here at Bio and EA. so anyone know if i can use my 360 dlc? thanks

Those are all available for PC, but most are pre-order:

Content ->DLC
Terminus Weapon and Armor ->Pre-order from Gamestop
M-29 Incisor-> Aegis Pack DLC
Recon Hood, Umbra visor & Sentry Interface ->Dr. Pepper Pre-Order DLC

You could give this page a look. Maybe it would be of help.

No problem.;)
You mean non-existant?
Yes, but it requires modifying the Coalesced.ini:

Locate in the Coalesced.ini :
[SFXGame.BioActivePower]
m_bSkipPowerCooldown=FALSE-->>TRUE
m_fMaxWaitTimeForAnimation=5.0f-->>0.0f

or

[SFXGame.SFXConsole]
m_fCombatCooldownTime=5-->>0

Then Run "the fixer"
And enjoy ME2.

If none of that works then try this:
[SFXGame.SFXGameConfig]
UseSharedPowerCooldown=TRUE-->>FALSE

Mookeylama wrote...

You can either modify those by placing a key binding in the Coalesced.ini:

For full paragon:
[SFXGame.SFXGameModeBase]
Bindings=( Name="Keyboard Key#1", Command="setparagon 1957" ) or
Bindings=( Name="Keyboard Key#2", Command="setrenegade 0" )

[SFXGame.SFXGameModeDefault]
Bindings=( Name="Keyboard Key#1", Command="setparagon 1957" ) or
Bindings=( Name="Keyboard Key#2", Command="setrenegade 0" )

For full renegade:
[SFXGame.SFXGameModeBase]
Bindings=( Name="Keyboard Key#1", Command="setparagon 0" ) or
Bindings=( Name="Keyboard Key#2", Command="setrenegade 1900" )

[SFXGame.SFXGameModeDefault]
Bindings=( Name="Keyboard Key#1", Command="setparagon 0" ) or
Bindings=( Name="Keyboard Key#2", Command="setrenegade 1900" )

or the following:
G.M.E.2.S.E.
See here for tutorial.

From the C.ini:
[SFXGame.BioSFHandler_CharacterRecord2]
m_nMaxRenegade=1900
m_nMaxParagon=1957

The dialog checks seem to only be a problem with NG+ games.  I'd advise 50-100 point increments till the dialog option would be unlocked.

That should work, the textures map the same IIRC, last time I looked at the ME1 and ME2 versions.  I should be able to put that together soon.  (they're actually the same texture, just revised--like they added another "scaley" layer over the original and tweaked the colors a bit--they didn't re-do her face from scratch or anything)

PS--the eye color change shouldn't happen in ME1, the eye texture's different for ME2, and actually linked to Samara's somehow.
