Defaulting to an INI before a DLC was installed will make that DLC no longer function correctly. The DLC will need to be reinstalled.

Ok, so if I go back and use RCW tool and edit the ini file, the DLC will work for me?  Sorry for the stupid questions: I'm still learning....

No problem we all need to never stop learning.B)
After reinstalling the DLC it should work when editing the C.INI.

Um... that would have been good to know awhile back before I tossed out my original ini file......
Tis ok now though, my stupid AV software messed up so many programs that it was just a easy to reinstall ME.  Painful, but lesson well learned.  What really sucked though is I had this great C.ini I was using from RCW's editor though for the life of me, I can't remember where I got everything now.

Somewhere in the midst of these pages......

Alright.

Adding bHasBreather=False to Morinth's outfit worked, but only continues to work on the casual outfit. It seems to stop working as an armor after acquiring the rocket launcher in the Lazarus Station at the beginning of the game. :/ Bummersauce.

Hmmmm. Maybe instead of a Full Body Appearance try a Torso Appearance:

TorsoAppearances=(Id=3005,Type=CustomizableType_Torso,Mesh=(Female="BIOG_HMF_ARM_LGT_R.LGTc.HMF_ARM_LGTc_MDL"),GameEffects=("SFXGame.SFX,GameEffect_Gear_Visor","SFXGame.SFX,GameEffect_Gear_N7Torso",
"SFXGame.SFX,GameEffect_Gear_AmplifierPads","SFXGame.SFX,GameEffect_Gear_Stabilization
Gauntlets","SFXGame.SFX,GameEffect_Gear_LifeSupportWebbing"),bHasBreather=False),PlotFlag=-1)

Did you backup the changes made to the C.ini in the RCW editor? If so; use it and restore your C.ini and then . install DLC's afterword. Some re-modding of the C.ini may be required after that.

Things I've found makes life easier:

1. Make every armor line in casual, torso, and full-body versions. Some work better in some categories, and you'll always find yourself wanting the one you don't have. I also have every head/helmet saved in "breather and non-breather" voice versions.

2. Save lots of copies of your modded ini files with various names and descriptions--they WILL get over-written all the time.

I've done the "Shadow Broker-style face texture on ME1 Liara" texmod. But my ISP ruined their FTP etc months ago, so I can't put it up on my personal storage space for download. PM me your email addy if you want it. I haven't been able to test it actually either (got new HDD recently, ME1 not installed), if someone could test it I'd appreciate it.

Honestly, I didn't though that was a good way to learn a lesson.  I have for the last few days been reading back through this thread and I owe you a great amount of respect for all the work you've done to help everyone.  Based upon your comments/notes, I went back and recreated a new C.ini a moment ago and it works perfectly!  I"m actually starting to understand now how the editing works though I still have a long way to go.

I'll have to send you a fruit basket for Christmas.....

No good, makes the game crash. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Indeed, good advice. The C.ini will change after every DLC that is installed, so I keep a backup file of all ADDITIONS that is ready for insertion into the updated clean C.ini, plus a file listing my CHANGES so that I can quickly flip through the C.ini finding where I need to make my edits.

Just a quick question. Is it possible to model swap NPCs with other NPCs? If so, how does one go about doing this?

EDIT:

Also, does anyone know the correct code to add Thane's head as a helmet?  Been trying to get it to work, but I must be doing something wrong.

2ND EDIT:
Nevermind, I got it.  Still want to know if it's possible to model swap NPCs, though.

Swaping NPC's with other NPC's clothing?
Like giving Udina Blue Suns armor?
I'm sorry but its not possible as far as I know.:(

Modding has a limitation, and I think that point is reached

for ME2. What we need is something new.

Hey folks, I know it's not ME2 related, but has anyone figured out how to tweak the film grain on the original Mass Effect? I really love the idea and how it looks in the sequel, but it's a bit too heavy for my taste in the original.

I know the feeling. ;)
I learned that the hardway months ago too. Since then I Back-up the C.INI & then Backup the C.ini-Back-up. (What a Tongue Twister!)

I guess so, but I won't give up that someone figures out something not thought of yet.

I'd also check in from time to time, and see if there is something I can do.

Take care.

Woops, forgot to run the fixer. It works, no weird underwater voice. But I do need the arm and shoulder codes, too. Do you know where I could find those?
