That's a shame hopefully the news will be good after the wait..:? It would suck to find out that nothings changed after a glimpse of light was shown.

A little offtopic but as for freelancer i remembered a post or something from a while back and thought you might be interested in a new indie game thats coming out called MinerWars the game is in pre-alpha and looks and plays amazingly well.

Last I heard from him he said he'd take a break from the forums to avoid DAII spoilers and such, but he's still working on a .pcc tool (as far as I understood it's not a full-compiler, but will allow limited pcc modding). We're all waiting for that magic tool. :)

The **cough** file **cough**  is associated with non-legal methodolgy of playing said game so it would be assumed. This is most likely the issue.


Yes, that did do the trick, thanks Phoenixofthunder. Still having problems getting those meshes to work though. Might have to use a bigger hammer...

is it possible to mod mass effect 2 to be like mass effect 1. What I want to do is remove global cooldowns and increase the cooldowns for all powers like mass effect 1.

I noticed some people are having a hard time with the extra casual outfits using the modmanager, specifically the female has all of them including the male outfits and the male has only the default, has anyone fixed this? I started fixing it but its very tedious since there is so many.

Is there a value in coalesced.ini that governs the distance which you can move away from your squadmates before they try to regroup with you on their own?

Curious question, I have been messing around with texmods. I was wondering how can you make stuff transparent. Say for instance if I set Miranda's skin texture to transparent would you basically see walking armor with no body or say if you made the armor and skin texture transparent you would see basically nothing? Any help would be nice. Also does anyone have on hand the skin and armor texture names for all npcs? or say Miranda, Samara, Jack, and Tali? Thanks in advance.

Any idea how to tone down ridiculous lens flare in this game? I've changed bloom and DOF already (note: smaller kernel sizes are faster), but it doesn't affect lens flare which looks corny.

Toggling LensFlares disables Use boxes too, which is obviously bad, some silly made them lens flares with different material instead of making a separate light category - it is so hard to copy a bunch of UnrealScripts to create your own class...

As a bonus, the motion blur uses too few samples for the MaxVelocity set - it really shows almost all the time it's enabled. This is probably not fixable, UDK doesn't expose this even now. Maybe they should go bug Epic to add this tunable or perhaps add samples based on the size of the motion vector.

EDIT: Durr, the .usf files are directly editable - time to mod some LensFlare shaders to fail less. Likewise with motion blur.
EDIT2: Any tiny (legal!) modification to LensFlare shader and ME2 explodes... Checksumming or what? MotionBlur doesn't cause this problem!

So far, nobody had any luck with decompiling that UnrealScript from Mass Effect 2?

Does anyone know how to make it so the HUD heads of your squadmates only show up in combat amd disappear outside of it? Please let me know or send me a link. I don't want the HUD heads gone for good though, just outside combat.

Hi Modders, just asking is there a mod out there where you can use Geth armor or you cant used it because of your weapons you use? I also saw a video on youtube (   - about :12 second in) on heavy armors for female/male Shepards, wondering what the codes for them are?

So, I just started work on a texture mod for the new Appearance Pack 2 armor for Miranda. I had made some personal mods a while back to remove the Cerberus influence from some outfits for the post-suicide mission game, but was never satisfied with anything I did on Miranda's outfits



Now that the armor's come out, I've been able to redo it to match the default N7 armor. I finally have something that I feel much better about, and now my squad actually feels like a military-grade squad.

Probably going to release soon, if anyone has any crit or suggestions I'd be happy to hear them.

I was going to say to add a N7 but then I realized that N7 is Shepards training. However, I'd suggest that you add some kind of logo on the front so it looks less...empty? plain? I don't know. Good work though.

Hate to repeat myself so soon but I'd really like a mod that removes those squadmate heads on the HUD. Do you know how to create one or know where to find one that takes the heads away? I found one here but I can't get it working. I tried using Texmod and the heads are still there. At least outside of combat, I haven't gotten into a fight yet with it enabled but I'm looking for one that removes them when not in combat.

 This would be a good place to start looking. An alternate way (probably not the one you're looking for) is to use the binding "showhud", to remove the interface manually when not in combat. Use this with the command ToggleFlyCam and you can get some good screen shots.

Care to post links to some nice texmod management app? It's hard to scour three threads for those, they're not in the first posts. Of course, it's here: http://social.biowar...m/project/2015/

Edit: Also, it crashes here on Win7 64-bit, Catalyst 11.1. I'll try disabling DEP for this file.
Edit2: Yes, that works around the issue, but it means there's some buffer overflow in the application. That needs to be fixed.

A question: when I add a new armor and pick GameEffects for it, can I also choose from DLC armor effects?

Whathever the answer, is there a referense somewhere which GameEffect corresponds to a specific armor piece? Their names are a bit cryptic sometimes.

you can just check the entries from the DLC-armors in the .ini

DLC effects work fine on any armor

also I looked through the new DLC-files and put together the codes for Miranda's and Tali's new outfits

Miranda's is BIOG_HMF_MIR_LGT_ALT_R.LGTc.HMF_MIR_LGTc_MDL
and Tali's is BIOG_QRN_TLI_LGT_ALT_R.QRN_TLI_LGT_ALT_MDL

Bah, TexMod is really slow on ATI. Looks like it pings all textures in a scene to check whether to mod any. I'll try attacking the textures with latest UDK, maybe it'll work. Unfortunately, you can't redistribute the resulting modded files, not even binary patches, thanks to the restrictive EULA.
Technically, these textures are also derived work, so, illegal to distribute.
I'll bite and provide the patches if I'm successful.
