Everyone that survived will probably make a reappearance if they survived the suicide mission & Virmire. As for squadmates, i doubt Jack, Samara/Morinth, and Zaeed have much reason to return. I can also imagine Thane dying and Grunt returning to Tuchanka.

I think ME3 will be different from ME2, as ME2 was different from ME1.

ME2 is about recruitment.
I don't think we will take a lot of time recruiting people in ME3.

Lots of squadmates are already here, or not, depending of Shepard's choices. I think all living squadmates at the end of ME2 can return, one way or another.

As LoSB show us, a specific caracter could become squaddie on a specific mission, even if he/she isn't usually one.
This could happen for every old squadmates in ME3, whatever his/her personnal situation will be.

I find Liara returning hard to believe after playing LotSB. After all, she essentially becomes Shepard's new Council/Illusive man. And again, we do not know what will happen to the VS.

i hope we get races we've never had if we get new squadmates.

although i did kinda ask myself well if you have the best squad the galaxies ever seen why get anyone else if they all survive? but of course there might be reasons why some people leave. which if thats the case and theres a set number of squadmates in ME3 then a bunch of them might leave.

Samara already said she would leave after the mission was over.

i hope any new squadmates are aliens they're more interesting than the humans IMHO.

Wrex, who was one squadmate could die in ME. They coulnd't bring him back because of that reason. You really expect Bioware to bring back ten plus 2 DLC characters who can die back? Everyone will get cameos or in Liara's case, play an important part in the story line, say hi to your new squad in ME3.

More like all living squadmates at the end of ME2-ME3 DLC will return. What's to say that at the end of the final content DLC, people like Samara, Zaeed or Kasumi won't leave? They can't leave just yet because people may still need them as squaddies. But in the last installment, they could come to Shepard after the mission and say they have to go, leaving a smaller and more manageable number of returnees to accomodate in ME3.

Then prepare for the disapointment that us Ash, Wrex, Kaidan and Liara fans had to suffer when it was announced they would not be in our squad in ME2.

If you don't do squadmates loyalty missions they should leave.
Tali and Garrus need to be cut out as squadmates for most of ME3 in all fairness to the VS, Wrex, and Liara

Tali- Tali is full of crap she says she cares about her people but when her trial is over and the FLotilla is faced with a huge dilemma she's like screw them I'm going with Shepard.
Tali should re-join the Flotilla to help  them plan for the Reapers and deal with the aftermath of her father's reasearch
If she was exile Shala Raan should find a loophole to help her regain admittance to the Flotilla.

Garrus should go to see his dying mother it makes no sense to stick with someone you knew for only two years and not  visit your dying mother who raised you.

Thane should be dead halfway into ME3 it would be cheesy if all of a sudden he was perfectly healthy.

Zaaed- leaves to take over the Blue Suns or hunt down Vido  but he could stay for the right price

Kasumi-  Should stay potential ME3 LI  Reapers are more important then theft

Miranda- Stays LI   Project Lazarus

Jacob- Stays LI  Project Lazarus

Grunt- Stays your his battlemaster

Samara- Stays she should renew her vows to Shepard

Morinth-  Stays she wants to get inside Shepard's headPosted ImagePosted Image

Mordin- Stays but not a squadmate he's old

Jack- Stays LI  nothing else better to do she's a merc

Virmire Survivor- Has to be a squaddie it would suck if you can only fight with them in ME1 and a DLC in ME2

Liara- This ones tricky. Liara has gotten a lot of love from Bioware. She's osessed as TSB and can't trust anybody else to handle the network.  Its hard to see Liara as a squaddie with her new responsibility.

Wrex- I think Grunt has took his spot.  Plus Wrex can be killed.  I would like to have Wrex as a squadmate but I'm fine with him leading the Krogans into a new era.

Potential new squaddies in ME3:

Kai Leng-Fromer  N7 marine TIM's top operative

Anderson- resigned from Council and is a pariah amongst the Alliance elite.  So he's free

He would need to be optional because a lot of people who read the book like me want to kill him for what he did and refuse to have him join the team.

She could move her operations to the normandy or she could become a temporary squaddie or she could become a permanent one while feron holds the fort, he's an information 'dealer' as well, and as he can't die so I'm assuming they have some plans for him. VS was intentionally kept out of the fray in Me2 to allow them to return in me3.

Liara if anything will be a temp. She will most liekly receauve the Kelly treatment in terms of romance(when you complete a mission you can go and talk to her, and advance in the romance) but Liara is the SB, she will be an important character in terms of story line.

I'm expecting her to be the sb for the first half or so, then she'll join in for the last epic finale while feron acts in her stead.

If anything, I find Feron joining the squad, possibly to replace Thane, a more likely option.

Also, Kaishley will more likely than not be the Shepard to Shepard's Saren for at least the first half of the game.

This is kind of what I think too.  I don't see why Liara wouldn't want to be at Shepard's side at the end.

That's why I say temp. I think near the end of the game will join your squad, but for majority of the game she will act as the quest giver and one oft he major characters.

Or they could apoligize to the VS, Wrex, and Liara fans and give them large roles in ME3, while at the same time bringing Garrus and Tali back as joinable squadmates but at the expense of plot importance? You know, so all groups are satisffied rather than one?

Understandable, but Garrus' mother is a Turian and would probably approve of Garrus' decision to save the entire galaxy. Just sayin'.

I don't think Feron will join the squad, but will work for Liara.

Here's how I see things:

Tali -- Will return simply because the Talifans will demand it and will be a potential LI.

Garrus -- Will return simply because the fans demand it and he is Shepard's bro if male or potential LI if female.

Miranda -- Will return as a potential LI.

Jacob -- Might return because he has nothing better to do.

Liara -- Will return but not as a squad mate.

Wrex -- If survived ME1, will return but not as a squad mate.

Kaidan/Ashley -- Will return as squad mate and potential LI.

Grunt -- Might return as squad mate due to Shepard being his battlemaster.

if we still get garrus i will be happy as much as i would love to have liara on the team through the entire game it is logical she will show up towards the end but as long as garrus remains i will be happy.

and besides that liara has to return in a major way seeing that she is in control of the shadow broker crap and that she is also an LI  with that DLC and all you are able to continue your relatioship with her but as it has been previously stated she may  not be on your team to start out but she may join towards the end thats one of the reasons why think feron is there. to me it makes sense that she give missions and such ain the beginning and further into the game feron will take over that position as she starts to transiton back into your team.

but i will bring this back up again dont take garrus away from us hes been through hell and back with shepard not only once but twice besides that garrus does seem to have a bit of mancrush on manshep and if you play femshep he's an LI. also garrus wants to be on shepards team as for seeing his dieing mother that could be a side quest *hint-hint bioware* but other than that i really dont see why garrus would ever leave your side.

Their was no fairness in ME2 so why be fair in ME3.  Garrus has no importance  or relevance to the ME plot.  Tali was only useful for her evidence against Saren.  Tali has no political influence on the Flotilla. She's just a soldier.
I'm just saying Liara fans had to wait 8 months to continue their romance.  Virmire survivor  and Wrex fans are still waiting.

Garrus joins Shepard and Cerberus because he has nothing better to do.  But Garrus can't go see his dying mother.  With the Reapers coming the Turians might draft Garrus into the army and it would probably make his mom sad if he wasn't helping his people and running off on a Cerberus ship.

Given both the marketing and the storyline implications, I can't see Bioware leaving out Tali or Garrus. It's likely that Liara will play a role, but quite possibly not as a team-mate through most of the mission. Depending on how the game is constructed, Legion could easily be back. Kaiden/Ashley will be back simply to prevent their fans from spontaneously combusting.
