normally I would go with a male warrior, that uses sword and shield. I also use my own judgement on the first playthrough with regards to my characters morallity.

My main warden was a ruthless male rogue who did what ever it'd take to stop the blight.

So my first Hawke will be more moral, male and a warrior (a class I practically never play)

For my first time through, I'll definately play a mage. As to looks, gender and such, I'll probably wait and see what's available. I'm really good at making a terrible mess of the first few play-throughs, so I'll mix it up a bit more when I get it figured out.

I am not really sure how to describe my first Hawke. I am leaning as i always do to the protector type. I think i will make her a mage class who will with out hesitation kill in the most brutal fashion those that have it comming but be a friend to old ladies children, puppies and kittens.
