Weird, I never had a problem with aim assist, but then I'm usually abusing the crap out of time dilation with the Viper, so I never really notice it.

To me it seems like it gets worse with more time dilation. Without it, I don't notice it much at all. With Heightened Adrenaline rush, it can be very difficult to snipe.

Adding my voice (albeit relatively late) to the call to bringing back the ability to toggle aim assist. It's dreadful.

Sad to say that aim assist for sniper rifles in ME3 is still as atrocious as before but at least they improved the mechanic outside that gun class.
I don't have any hopes pinned onto the fourth installment of the series, whenever that comes out.
