IS THERE A BUG ON THE XBOX 360 when you give the robbed elves in Lothering 50 silvers?

I have the XBOX 360 version of the game.

So when I give the robbed
family of Elves in Lothering the 50 silvers, they say "thank you" and
"bless you! This will help us a great deal!".But then, I receive NO EXPERIENCE, and the 50 silvers do not come out of my money. Can someone tell me if this happens to them?
Is this some kind of bug? I have never had this happen to me in previous playthroughs until now.I can't figure out what is making this happen!?When I give the boy on the bridge (right next to them) a silver, the 1 silver comes out of my pocket just fine.

I play on the 360 as well and for some unknown reason in all my playthroughs I was only ever able to offer the family 50 silvers when I played as a Dalish elf. I don't recall if the 50 silvers actually got deducted or not though. Most likely just a bug.

Yes!

Every time I have ever talked to the robbed man. He says, "Might you be able to spare some bread, or anything?"

Then you have the option to ask them, "What happened to you?" at which point they tell you that they were robbed.

I have ALWAYS had the option, "Here's 50 silvers" You give them 50 silvers, and you get experience points.

However, this time when I do it, the 50 silvers do not come out of my pocket, and I get NO experience points! They just thank me, as usual.

* You may inform a family of elves by the bridge near the chantry about the bandits if you either killed or drove them off. There doesn't seem to be a reward for this though. If you give them 50 Silver you will receive 100 EXP.

Upon completion you get 150 EXP. Ser Bryant will reward you with 20 Silver. If you ask for additional help he will give a key to the cabinet in the back of the Lothering Chantry. There are some Health Poultices and the Ancient Elven Boots (in the PC version the boots are not there because of a bug).

On ALL of my playthroughs, the 50 silvers DID get deducted and I DID receive the 100 experience points.

However, this is the first time that the 50 silvers did NOT get deducted, and I didn't get the experience points.

It is very weird, because I selected the option, "here's 50 silvers" and they thank me and bless me like usual.

This is very irritating! I don't need the experience points or anything, and I have over 900 Soveriegns, I just hate this, as it is screwing with me.

I can't help you about the experience points, but I can help the people that are confused as to when the "give 50 silver" option appears. In my experience this option only comes available when you have more than ten sovereigns, otherwise you don't get it. Since it varies as to whether I have that much money that early in the game I was able to pin it down as to what prompted the dialogue option.

Aha! Thank you; it's been driving me nuts to not be able to give them the money...I'm too poor, apparently, to even have the option.  ^_^   Been tearing my hair out over another 'bug' that didn't exist, ha.

Though 'tis odd...in Ostagar, I had to sell gear in order to bribe the guard for his dinner to give the starving prisoner...I literally did not have 10 silvers....but I've nine sovereigns plus change.....it's not like I could not give it to them!

Of course I've saved after the interaction....*groan*...had i just seen the merchant first, could have given them the cash!   :pinched:

Why didn't I look this up first; kept going back to previous saves thinking it was a bug....don't want to give up the half dozen or so 'gifts' my hound has dug up for me, in case I don't get them again...
