Nah, Sonic deserves to be on that list. Though I don't know how he could put Lohgain on the list.
Also, I think Frodo Baggins kind of sucked as hero. If it weren't for Samwise Gengei, Frodo wouldn't carry on. That's the only person that was keeping him sane. But even so, he got whiny in the end. I felt that it was Samwise that was actually moving the party forward.

X-men Origins: Wolverine - Deadpool.
Awesome villian/bad*** in the comics but WTF in the movie? A pool of powers, really? REALLY? They ruined the character.

These random Italian gangsters who hold guns to Bruce Lee. Man, I'd hate to be them.
Or how about these bar patrons who decide to see how tough Steven Seagal is.
Makes me wonder if there has ever been a movie where random thugs are actually tough.

For every novel written, movie filmed, and game created comes your main characters. And among your cast of characters are your protagonist and your antagonist. And if successful your villains and heroes will each get their own place to be remembered in popular culture.
For every Jack Torrence and Frodo Baggins out there you have your heroes and villains that just didn't quite make the cut. In one way or another their role in whatever form of media they were in was a disaster or a utter joke.
So this is th purpose of this thread I want to hear your opinion on what protagonist or antagonist turned out to be a pathetic joke.
Here is a few of mine:
Anikan Skywalker- For whatever reason is role in the last several starwars movies made him appear to be a spoiled brat. The complete opposite of what a traditional hero should be.
Nute Gunray- Again from starwars, this alien is the leader of the Trade Federation. And if you are going to feature him in all the prequels and set him up as a villain you might as well make his role of some importance.
Lord Beckett- I mean for all this guy's supposed cunning he dies with in 30 secs at the end of the last Pirates Movie. Again his role seemed rather pointless.
Lord Lucien- From Fable 2, apparently the most evil guy out there. You spend the whole game trying to avenge your sister's death and you expect a climatic ending. But the man dies with a simple gun shot wound, and depending on what you do you might not even get to kill him.
The Phantom of the Opera- Everybody watch out, he might sing at you!
Ankian wasn't born evil. I assume most want him to be weilding a lightsabor as soon as he was of age and destroying villages. He had to have a child and even though he is a villan now. I thought the way they set him up for the Villian role was good.
A villian trained by Jedi turned to Full Sith. Is a powerfull foe indeed with all the teachings of the jedi in combat and powers of the Sith. He turned evil trying to project one person he loved. If you were expecting a freddy or Jason murder/serial killer then you were mistaken.
Someone like Darth Vadar had to be slowly built overtime. One just doesn't command an entire troop overnight. They have to build up their powers, had to fall in love for the child. I believe the last movie they made was the best "revenge of the sith"

Anakin Skywalker: 16 years we've waited for the story of Darth Vader's fall from grace. What do we get? A whiny mama's boy who can't bear the thought of losing his girl. Oh and don't come crying to me just cause the Jedi Council wouldn't make you a master. Pft.
Batman (Superfriends version): WTH?! You can't fight back just cause you can't reach for your damned utility belt?!! Thank God for Bruce Timm.
Duncan Macleod (Highlander TV): You're 400 years old with lethal sword skills and you still won't kill a woman just cause it's against your code? Even when said immortal woman is trying to kill you and your BFF? And you still pine for the woman you lost 400 years ago? And you...etc, etc.
Rorschach: A lot of people like this guy. I don't. Maybe it's because he's a completely Axe Crazy vigilante with a very black and white morality. His brilliant plan for solving a murder mystery? Beating up on some helpless lowlifes until he gets the answers he needs.
Villains
Dr. Doom: Dude, I can understand your face getting ****ed up like that by your failed experiment would really screw you up big time. But c'mon, holding a grudge against the guy (Reed Richards) who pointed out that your calculations in said experiment were wrong? That's kinda childish.
Darth Malak: You got the whole planet surrounded, and your plan to catch the Jedi you've been chasing is to nuke the planet to Kingdom Come? And said Jedi still gets away? Smooth...
Saren Arterius: A bunch of giant robot squiddies plan on harvesting all life in the galaxy. His brilliant plan for defending it? Turn us all into slaves so that said metal squiddies don't kill us right away.
Superboy Prime: WAAAHHH!!! I'm gonna kill you all just cause you won't let me be Superman!

That's not so much pathetic as deranged though ...

I doubt Anakin can be called a hero as he failed the hero´s journey because of his flaws. He did become a great villain. I liked the character anyway because to me he was mostly right when he complained about Jedi nonsense rules, and Palpatine was always around. I doubt even Vetinari could get the upper hand against him.
Now you mention McLeod, let´s add Connor outside the first film (there´s only that one to me). Poor guy.
Superboy Prime... let´s ruin a character to take a jab at fans. One of the few things GJ has made I hate. Read the original CoIE.
