If you kill Caladrius when doing Unrest in the Alienage is there a chance that you can get his staff in a random drop?

I've never seen it drop, but I always kill him anyway, as his buff is not all that helpful

Not that I recall and I've killed him every time.

I'm hoping its a Magister's Staff so I can give to my mage without having to side with the werewolves or kill Zathrian for it.

I usually side with the Werewolves. One of the reasons is that staff, the other reason is the cutscene(maybe my favorite in the game)

I just don't want my mage to add more ammunition for the Dalish to use against us in the game just so I can get a cool staff.

You can always side with the Dalish and kill Zathrian after you finish with the werewolves. Then you can just tell them "he died a hero". My wardens tend to be bastards though...all for the glory of min/maxing

That's just not how I want my warden to be, anyway I just bought a brand new sealed copy of DAO Collectors Edition so I'll be able to use Final Reason for my mage. Hopefully the codes aren't expired; thanks anyway.

I did get his staff on my last run, but I was using the "Improved Atmosphere" mod. Maybe that makes the staff part of his loot.

And it was a Magister's Staff, identical to the one sold by the vendor in the Circle Tower.

EDIT: You're on 360 so nevermind.

Now this just raises another question; how come you get these mods for PC and console users get left out?

I think that is more due to the fact that it's harder to get mods onto a console, and that consoles (I think) check the game's files for modification, and there's probably some kind of punishment for modifying the game's files.

Would the Dwarven Merchant Belt increase your chance of getting the staff from his body?

I think the dwarven merchant belt is glitched and doesn't do anything. Unless they fixed that in a patch...
