If you create a level, Then create an area.
When you go back to the level editor to make changes and DoPost to Local.
Is that supposed to update the area, when you open it up.
I opened my level in the single player, to render light maps and some vista objects.
Then I did the do post local bit.
I notice it export stuff in nearly every nook and cranny in my pc.
There was folder created in my package/core/override. I copied that to my addins core override.
As it looked like the same files just more recent than were there from before updating the level.
But I also there was a folder in my mydoc/locals/temp called speedtree. I notice alot of the resources I was using were in there. do i need that stuff. or that for the toolset.
Anyway. When I opened the toolset up again, and checked out my area it didn't reflect any of the changes. So I'm not sure what the process is for updating levels.
ie
The vistas don't appear in the area editor in the toolset.
I know this is probably a basic question but...

There are temp files created in a lot of places and you don't need these. In fact, you can even write a quick batch script to purge those folders if you want to get back some space. All you need is the folder with your exported layout name under packages/core/override (if you are posting to local from the Single Player module)
My suggestion would be to not have level layout folders under both packages/core/override and your module's core/override. Just have one layout folder and remove/reassign it to the area and see if the changes appear. Note that you can leave the area layout folder under packages/core/override till you package your mod up. It is not necessary for it to be under the module folder since the B2P process can't process those files anyway (you have to do it manually)

Ok that makes sense. I just getting ready to come back here say, well I guess it works about 1 out of 3 tries. Sometimes it happens sometimes I get a bunch wierd stuff.
I try stay in the habit of deleting the packages toolset export folder. So I've been cutting the layout folder and pasting into the module core override. Though a couple I missed that step I think.
Anyway, my track record has been 1 out 3 trys the area editor showed the changes. 1 of 2 the game showed the changes. The weird thing is the area editor a couple of time showed a whole bunch odd placeables that I never added. One time the game did. It just seems like sometimes it works sometimes it don't.
Good to know I can just leave it in the packages override and not have it in the module core, keeps me from making mistakes. Hopefully will result in some consistency.

In general, when one resource references another, you may need to use the F5 refresh key to make recent changes show up in the toolset.
