People complain a bit too much about EA

Out of the three Major console publishers (ativision, ubisoft,EA) they have the greateast balance of creativity and ability to make money so future games in the series don't suck.

The problem is,  they're making the games EA wants them to play.  Honestly,  EA buys the studio and suddenly everything's a shooter,  pretty obvious cause & effect there.

And clearly someone from EA went back in time to make Bio design ME1.

Oh come now, AlanC9. You should know that internet furor has nothing to do with the facts!

It's as if no one remembers how angry Microsoft was that they'd lost their exclusive IP.

ME1 wasn't even published by EA.  Microsoft published ME1 (that's why it was a 360 exclusive when it launched).

EA's name appears nowhere on an ME1 box.

Well one could wonder why nobody blames EA to make ME2 better than ME1. Oh wait, that's because ME1 is better because of the screwed up combat, thousands of different items of which 90% were crap (oh how I missed making omnigel), and trying to get the Mako to it's goal without turning off the comp from frustration half-way. You just can't argue with people who don't want to see reason. It doesn't matter what you say, since they don't want to understand anything, they know everything already.

So you're saying love it or STFU and get out?

I'm honestly concerned that you think what David Gaider described is appropriate - let alone positive - behavior.

Well I think the point is that you can't make everyone happy. Not Every One. If you are the One who is not happy you could just leave without trying to making everyone else unhappy too. Of course only if you have anywhere to go where you are happier, since if you don't then you're stuck with being in places where you are unhappy.

Alex.

If you don't like the party. Leave.

"Having nowhere else to go" is a lame excuse for staying.

It's just a video game. If you don't want to play it, don't.

Don't get butthurt because other people like it.

Edit.
Do you think James Cameron gets offended by complaints about his movie?
I bet every time someone says "Avatar sucks", he kicks a Pandoran Kitten out of the window.

Nobody gets upset about criticism over their movies like Uwe Boll does.

I actually think Boll is genius. He uses the nerd rage of the internet to his own advantage. That boxing match wasn't because he was upset. That boxing match was a publicity stunt.

If you think that Uwe Boll is earnest in his rage, then I have a bridge to sell you.

I liked ME1 a lot more than ME2, though I'm not blind that ME2's gameplay and features were a lot more advanced and fun. Hell, I can't even play ME1 after playing ME2 and I still view ME1 being better because of the plot and me being involved with the characters more.

Not sure which DLCs you have, but I had about the same opinion about it as you until the Overlord and Shadowbroker DLCs came out. Now ME2 clearly beats ME in every respect for me. But well, tastes are differentPosted Image

All of them. While I did like LOTSB / Overlord, it wouldn't really change my opinion of the first one. LOTSB did come close however since it did humanize and reconnect my Shepard with Liara but it was sort of forced down that path on my Renegade who insulted Liara and never did anything for her (but apparently they are best friends now?).

Hm we are going off topic. But I romanced Liara both in my renegade and paragon playthrough. So I don't have this kind of problemPosted Image

On topic: Yeah well ... devs get offended sometimes and sometimes not. Does that answer the question?

As long as I can remember, BioWare has always said they make the games they would want to play. It's why they started doing games in the first place. The fact that a lot of us also enjoy playing their games is a good thing. And I think the basic premise is still true.

The problem is,  they're making the games EA wants them to play.  Honestly,  EA buys the studio and suddenly everything's a shooter,  pretty obvious cause & effect there.

Considering pretty much every month so far this years been a drop compared to last year,  it's not hard to tell where this is all leading.

As far as people enjoying their games go,  gotta wait and see on that.  I suspect Bioware burned alot of bridges with ME2 and will burn more with DA2,  can't keep passing off shooters as RPGs.

I don't like shooters, but I love ME.  ME2 is ok and I'll wait till I play ME3 to see how the story ends and if it has multiple endings and one of them is in the style of heroic happy ending sci-fi fantasy (like th ending of ME1)  I'll continue to be a fan.

I enjoyed DA:O except the endings.  I'm looking forward to DA2.  If it has another ending like DA1 then I'll re-think my thoughts on BioWare games.  But 1 game out of all the BioWare games I've played with an ending I hated, doesn't make me think they no longer make games I'll want to play.  :)

edit - oh and I don't think the devs get offended so much as just tired.  And when you get tired you can get grumpy.  back on topic.  :innocent:

Ah shucks,  You know this is my favorite place to hang out between games.
