I ordered mine through Amazon a while back(the Hardcover Collectors, with what will probably be printed sigs from Bioware devs on the inside cover, but a true fan like myself could only hope it'd be fresh sharpie) at the time I pre-ordered it I compared to other prices it was much cheaper than other retailers had it listed.

Oh yeah got it for $23 USD.    Best Buy and I'm sure GStop will have it for the $34.99 price.
Amazon still has it at that price: www.amazon.com/gp/product/076156246X/ref=ox_ya_oh_product

I'm glad I pre-ordered my Collectors Edition of the game a while back too, it's listed where you can still find copies at $100+ USD.

EDIT: here's some nice details

Product Description

Lore: Learn the story leading up to this epic struggle that can't be found anywhere else. - Curious about this info.
Interviews: Step behind the scenes with revealing interviews with the development team.
Art: Our stunning art section showcases the best artwork Dragon Age has to offer. - This kind of sold me on it.
Hard Cover: Rugged Hardcover edition for extra durability. - Huge plus for me I cant stand the typical flimsy covers.
Guide: Includes the complete Dragon Age: Origins strategy guide.
Signed Cover: Signatures
from the entire Dragon Age development team appear on the inside front
and back cover to add to the custom Collector's look and feel. - Hopefully actual sigs and not prints but oh well either way.

[*]Hardcover: 408 pages
[*]Publisher: Prima Games; Collector's ed edition (November 3, 2009)[/list]

It varies wildly. Some are useful and have extra infos, some a complete waste of money. No way to know until people get them and give their opinion.

I usually play the game through at least once and unless I get stuck I dont use the guide until second or 3rd playthrough, I will no doubt use this for item stats, vendors stock ect.

I didnt have one for Mass Effect and after my 5th playthrough I got one just to either be a huge dork or because I wanted to be thourough and make sure I didnt miss anything.

But typically guides like this one are for hardcore fans of either the game itself or the developers.

With the internet how it is these days guides are absolutely useless and only a collectors item.

For everyone else there's gamefaqs.com.

Truth be told gamefaqs isnt always that reliable especially for games of this size, gamefaqs can be a huge help though, but honestly even though I have both a desktop and a laptop I really dont like getting the laptop out to sift through a guide online that isnt in PDF format with bookmarks ect. It can take quite a while searching through a gamefaq guide that's plain text, lol "turn right at the rock that looks like brownish green next to the tree that has leaves" lol nice to have some images you know?

To each is own though, I'm a stocky 6'6" prior military man with a mohawk still rehabilitating now sure looking at me one would usually take a wide berth around me, but honestly deep down I'm hardcore gamer dork, and I had to get this guide lol.

I'm a huge nerd, and usually end up buying the guide just to have it. As far as game tips go, they're nice to have around when you don't want to go to your computer. The art in them is usually good, and a one stop location to look up what sorts of items/armor/etc. you can find is useful. And I usually have just enough willpower to avoid going to far into the walkthrough before I've had a chance to play it. Usually.
