Excuse me? Can someone help me please?

I just finished playing the short story, Lellianna's Song and thought I would add "Return To Ostagar" to my list of available content. I thought it was another playable campaign. So when it had finished downloading and installing itself, I quickly hopped straight to the "Other Campaigns" section, only to find that it wasn't there! :(

Is this REALLY another playable campaign or not? I guess it looks like it isn't, (well not by itself at least) from where I'm sitting!:(

So how do I get access to the "Return To Ostagar" Please?"

Return to Ostagar is an additional mission available in DA:O's main campaign. It's a new location that can be accessed on the world map (you first need to go to yet another location - the Bann Loren's Lands).

Out of all the official DLCs only Leliana's Song, Witch Hunt, the Darkspawn Chronicles and Golems of Amgarrak are accessed through "other campaigns".

Hi.
Thank you for your helpful reply.:police:

I really wish I had known this when I was still playing Origins! But unfortunately I didn't at the time.:(
I've already played it to the end, including Awakening too, and I don't really have any desire to play them again like some people do. Once I have played a campaign game, that's it for me. I'd easily get bored to play through them a 2nd time round, even with a different class mix for a main character. *sigh!*

Seems pointless that I bought and installed "Return to Ostagar" now!:(
Ahh well.... it didn't really cost much at least anyway. Nevermind.

Thanks again for your helpful reply.:police:

You can still play it if you still have your Epilogue save from when you finished the game. If you fire up that save, you can access the world map and play any DLC (such as Warden's Keep, Stone Prisoner, and Return to Ostagar) that you may have missed/skipped.

Hi there.
Thank you for your reply.B)

Unfortunately I never kept any saved games at all, since I knew I wouldn't be playing through any of them again.
So I quickly deleted them all once I had finished. Oops!:crying:

I wonder though.... would I be able to access Return to Ostagar if I just played some of the start of Origins, or does it only work if I have played through a huge chunk of the game and story?

You can start new and play until you can access the world map, I believe, right after Ostagar. Then you should be able to access RtO.

Hi.
Thanks a lot for your 2nd, very helpful reply.:)
It will probabaly only be a very short mission, but since I don't have much else to do with the game right now, I think it could be interesting, just to play through it that far to get access to this mission and see what it's all about.

Thanks again.:)

You could also head to dragon age nexus and download other dao campaign addons to make the journey not just for the hour of Rto O.

That sounds like a rather handy idea, though please could you (or anyone) tell me where I can download such content from? The only part of the  D.A Nexus site I know about, is where you can download all the various mods. I don't know where to find these campaign addons that you mentioned.

Could I have a helpful link please?

What's wrong with that when (as I said earlier) I knew I wouldn't be playing again!?
I easily tire after just 1 play through of any single player campaign story I play. So what would be the point in me keeping them??

Infact if I cannot find / no one will tell me where I can find these addons that the earlier poster suggessted,:(:( I may even uninstall the whole game from my pc after I have played the short mission, Return To Ostagar, and then just wait til next year when D.A 2 arrives! *sigh!!*

Hi.

Thanks a lot for that! I've had a look at the link.
Looks like some rather nice addons there! I shall be downloading some later I think.

Thanks again!:)

I'm sorry to derail this topic, but I see no point in playing an RPG once, where the setting and atmosphere is so new to you, (Well, new enough at least) and the huge possibility of skipping dozens of quest just to rush through the main storyline.

Different people play different ways, and not everyone wants to play through the same general story line again. There's no use trying to convince someone that they should play a game again if they don't want to.

I never skipped through any single part of the quests at all! Infact I have played and completed all quests in both of them... (Origins and Awakening) well nearly all of them, except for the fact that I found a couple of bugs in both games where I couldn't complete just 1 quest from each of them. (too much for me to explain what they were) So I decided to leave them and continue with the rest of the games til I finished.

Alas though.... what Eurpterid said was correct. There is no convincing those of us who don't really have a desire to play again after just 1 play through. Sorry about that.

I have to say though..... I have thouroughly enjoyed every minute I have played of both games!
There is no denying that!:)

Didn't mean to berate you, but it seems you have legitimate reasons. Sorry.
