Excuse me but I'm bored.
I want a definitive ufficial anser on Blight Queller trophy.
I have PS3, all patches and all DLC.
With many characters statistics are more than 1000 darkspawns killed in origins, in awakening, in golems of amgarrak, in witch hunt.
What I must do to get the trophy?
Delete all DLC and patches and play offline?
There's a correct patch for this problem?
I am a fan of yours game, I prenoted signature edition of dragon age 2, I've all dlc, one with t-shirt ordered from north america in italy. I just need a correct and persuasive answer from BioWare.
Thank you, bye.

This is what worked for me on xbox all dlc and all patches as of 10-28-2010. I did a solo human noble 2h warrior templar, berserker. I killed every freaking dark spawn that crossed my path and had 654 kills going in to the final battle. So I did the alienage run. When you do the alienage run you have two saved files one right after you talk to the city elfs and receive the quest make sure you tell them to run. Once you do this I proceeded to the gates and killed killed killed complete the quest do not do not leave the alienage go back to elves and take your gift for completing the quest save to your other save. Then reload just before the battle rinse and repeat. I did this 8 times at about 40-60 dark spawn each time. I can be a little tedious but if you want them you may have to do some grinding...

if you have all the dlc's you can kill 1000 in one playthrough. My first playthrough had about 750 and then i heard of this problem and didn't know what to do. I focused all my attention to the traveller achievement. To make sure i did absolutely everything i scoured all the areas again and occasionally i encountered new waves of darkspawn. Not many but enough to keep that counter ticking over. I have the 1.06 version loaded by the way. By the time i hit the rooftop i had 945. I ignored the dragon and just kept killing till presto 1000 and blight queller unlocked.

The most important thing is that it has to be 1000 in one playthrough of Origins. It will not count kills from Awakenings or Golems etc.

I got it by doing the 'Alienage run' thing. That's the best option IMO.

I had completed 4 play throughs and made it a point to hold my team back on the last play through and still didn't get either achievment. I finally got both the 500 kill and 1000 kill achievement by following this advice from Belmat22 posted on another board.

It turns out that Blight Queller worked fine before one of the title updates was released. So here's what to do:

 * Delete the title updates. Go to System Settings on the Xbox Dashboard, then Memory. Highlight your primary memory unit, then press Y, Select 'Clear System Cache' from the menu.
 * Load up Dragon Age: Origins, and when it asks you to install the latest update, say no. This means you'll have to play offline, but that's not such a huge deal with this game.
 * Play through the game as per usual until you get to the Darkspawn attack on Denerim. Go to the Alienage, save, then tell your party to wait, as only main character kills count. Kill all the darkspawn you can, then reload the last save.
* Repeat last step

As the Darkspawn kills are written to a file seperate to your save file,
reloading does not lose you the kills. However, when the title updates
are deleted, so is this file, so you have to start again.
.

No, you don't have to delete anything or play offline. That just over-complicates things. Just do the Alienage run as described above and you'll get them eventually. It took me 11 times.

For the PS3 simply delete and load the game file (this only works for the original or SE edition it does not work for the Ultimate). Play and kill away. You will end up with 1000 in no time. It counts total Darkspawn killed for all saved DAO games on the PS3 vs. one save/game with a total of 1000 kills. actual total darkspawn killed. I had this trohpy prior to the first update being released.

Yes i wasn't very specific only the dlc's for origins. Return to ostager, wardens keep, stone prisoner etc.
The awakenings and golems, witch hunt etc don't count.
I agree with hotspur000 it would be much easier to do the alienage run.
