Barbarians in Dragon Age?

There appears to be no info about them in the Wiki besides the Alamarri Barbarians and I believe they were the proto-Fereldens (Haven't finished reading that Wiki yet), but what about these Dales Barbarians I've been glimpsing on the forums.
Are they mentioned in one of the books? Can anyone tell me more information about them?
(Of course there's always the slightest possibility I have gotten things mixed up)

I've been picking up rumors of a cut Barbarian Origin, so I was wondering if someone could tell me more about these Barbarians in Dragon Age.

You have. There are no 'dales barbarians.' There are the Wilders, the Avvar, and the Alamarri.
Going from memory, the Alamarri are the group that Andreste stirred up against the Imperium, and their decedents would have intermixed with a large part of southern Thedas. So proto-Fereldan, proto-Orlesian, proto-Anderfel(?). The Avvar were the barbarians the origin was to be based on, they live in the mountainous area that separated Ferelden from Orlias. The Wilders live in the south, so they fill the forests and further on the icy wilderness. They used to cover all of Ferelden, but their territory was pushed back by the Imperium, to as far as Kenloch hold.

However from the perspective of the Imperium, Ferelden is a barbarian kingdom...

Thank you. The reason I'm asking is cause I want to go for a Barbarian NPC in hopefully a future module. But is there more info on the Avvar and the Wilders? I suppose I have to locate the books for that?

That's all we have right now, sorry. After the game drops, we'll be updating with information from the Codex.
No need to say sorry. It just means I'll have to wait till the release to flesh him/her out. Thank you for the links though, didn't realise there was a second wiki.

Origins play a large part of the story so they have said it will be very unlikely to see it as a DLC...maybe some modder will take the time but otherwise i doubt we will see it...maybe in DA O 2.I kinda want a Antivan crows origin...they cant all be just rogues right? Zevran had a mage with him.
I too doubt new origins, classes, or races will come as DLC but I think they are possible for expansions.
