Well I said I was not going to do any painting last weekend, but couldent help myself lol! Kaiden revisted!

It's better than the last one, but still not perfect. Still, I feel it looks a lot more like him at least.

Oh, and dead space 2 is great! Not as good as the first, gets a little relentless near the end and loses its scare value. Worth a play for sure!

Kaidan is fantastic, easily tied with the Garrus piece as my favorite (plus, he looks a a bit like me ) ! I can't wait to see more of the characters painted by you. The style is great and vastly different from the majority of Mass Effect art pieces. Any hint on who's next?

Well, I have began sketching her out on the canvas just half hour ago. Going to be Ashley Williams, again im afraid. I am just not satisfied with some of the mistakes from the first painting. So will try and sort that out with this painting. Going to get painting on it tomorrow and try and get it complete in a day.

Kaidan's hair looks greased back, sort of a fonzie look goin' on. Great work as always, Saturn!

The only thing I can really nitpick about is his ear, it's too low.

General Douchington : Cheers for the crit! It was not a nitpick at all, completely spot on. The paint was still slightly wet so just fixed that now, on the original anyway. Thanks again for that! As for the fonzie look, my bad.

I've always envied the artists that are able to capture face features on their works. I trained for years and still can't produce a realistic drawing. Also oils are adifficult medium, so I admire the work you put into it.

Man. Just accidentally stumbled across this thread and HOLY ****!



These are just brilliant! Thats some serious talent right there! That last one of Ash is just terrific, it's just so vibrant and detailed. What I'm really impressed with though is the colour. Getting the flesh tones right seems to be really tricky from most of the fan art I've seen, but you've really nailed it.

Its been really busy for me this last week, my girlfriend went out to buy me some canvases for the next batch but got the wrong sort. Doh! So will have to wait another week for the next one I am afraid. Sorry! Going to be getting on with my survival Horror Design Document in the mean time.

Phew, writing is about as hard as painting, if not more to me. lol

If these were merely perfect reproductions (which they are) that would be one thing, but they capture the characters even better than that. They really demonstrate the emotional impact artwork can have. Liara and Kaidan especially seem more real than the real thing (if I can call their in-game representations that). I hope you're thinking of painting the ME2 cast as well!
