Hi everybody,
I have searched the forums and Google like crazy to try to find some information about this - I have found several people who have had the same problem but I have yet to find a solution.
I just barely got my copy today, and when I put it in and start installing, it gets to about 64% installed and then just hangs. Eventually, if I let it sit long enough it will go to a frozen 100% success screen. If I hit the PS button at 64% or 100%, it comes back to a black screen.
Additionally, when I go look at the game data in the Game Data Utility, it says 1728MB.
Anybody else have this problem and successfully fix it?
Thanks!

I'm having the exact same problem. I've tried deleting the game data twice now and reinstalling. Each time, while I'm installing the game data, it pauses for several minutes at 54%, then moves to 100% and freezes.

A manufacturing scratch, which is extremely hard to do with Blu-Ray. All Blu-Ray Discs have a scratch resistant coating that prevents scratches. I mean every time I go to trade in a game, they ask me, "Dude, did you even play it?" and I just say, "Hey it's Blu-Ray."
I have NEVER ever ever had a scratched Blu-Ray. EVER. It's extremely hard to scratch a Blu-Ray as I've said, so this must be a very rare occurance, probably caused by the manufacturer themselves while they were making the discs. Which in my experience, manufacturers in the US usually know how to avoid this, but I've had friends in other countries having problems with their discs. So... it would appear as though international manufacturers need to learn how to properly manufacture Blu-Ray Discs.
