Amazing! I honestly did not know what to expect when I first saw this thread's title in the forum. I certainly did not think it was going to be as awesome as what I just saw in Youtube. I must admit that I am genuinely impressed with this project. It clearly shows a lot of thought, effort and talent on your part to put it together.

I am currently in the middle of a Human Noble Female Dex/Cun DW Rogue play-through. I don't usually get involved with the romances when playing female characters. I'm male and find it a little awkward. The explanation is too long to share here. Suffice to say that with this, I am extremely tempted to place my HNF in a relationship with Alistair so I can witness a truly beautiful and wonderful ending to her story in Origins.

This project is nothing short of extraordinary. Excellent!

I just wanted to add one more thing to this:

Though you are male, I highly recommend you romancing Alistair as an HNF
you may see a side of Alistair unknown to most, and definitely a focus
of attraction for MANY females out there...he obviously must be doing
something right.  ;)

Yeah, my male friend called Alistair a "Big blond goof", my response was "A hunky, blond goof who knows how to get to a woman's heart."

If there was an Anora-Cousland version of that it might make me do another Origins run. Might.

So Dahlia, I suppose you can't always expect to recieve all good comments about the mods, otherwise how can one improves if its always perfect? I saw the video in youtube, my constructive critict is if you were putting a lot of time and effort and interest in that mod maybe some some lines might have been good, I suppose the ladies might have enjoyed hearing the "I do" at least either from him or the character, also the coronation music could have been more appropiate because it was time for celebration since it was a wedding and the end of a troubled journey, the love song while yes is romantic it was something heard many times during the game. It just my opinion that an increased in the music (I think is called "crescendo" or something like that) might have given a more emotional response to the players that took that path.

All in all the cutscene was very good and certainly that it took a lot of time and people to finish it and it goes well for the end in origins as it was in lord of the rings when Aragorn walks with Arwen and everybody bowing.

I liked it without anything being said, I've seen a few mods that would have been excellent get ruined by people mucking with lines.

I can't think of any other song in Origins that would fit for the cutscene. I admit, as a Leli fan I feel a bit odd hearing her song during someone else's moment (<_<), but either way, it fits the wedding theme perfectly.

Well, only males can get it but some women would still want it. B)

Oh. my. gawd. This mod was absolutely beautiful! I loved all the companions being there...the music choice...but I think the moment I loved the absolute most was when Alistair looked over at Fergus, and Lady Cousland's big bro gave him the nod. My heart completely melted at that point. Such a small little detail, yet such a large emotional impact, on this viewer at least....Thanks so much for sharing this with us!

My opinion was that while the song is yes romantic, is basically the song of the parting ones, Uthenera love and death that was Leliana's song, it sounds nice in the mod but if I were to be the king I and have a wedding it would have been more accord a celebrating theme and leave the love song for the honeymoon hehehe.

As a female, I thought the music choice was perfect. Yes, it is certainly a time of celebration but the scene itself depics the wedding of two people very much in love. Perhaps the celebratory music was playing when they left the chamber to greet the masses.

As for lines, It's a nice idea but one of the things we Alistair fangirls love the most is the VO. Re-using lines that lack the proper emotion of the moment would have lessened the impact.

Love song for the honeymoon...

Is there any song in the actual game that would fit the celebrating theme (and still be romantic) though?

I agree with you about the bit with Fergus. Such a perfect detail. Also I loved how when Fergus was escorting his sister down the aisle she this very serious look on her face, he looked down and smiled at her making her smile (and blush?). It's like he said "You know, it's okay to smile."

Actually I have no problems with the scene as it is aside from a few shots and angles I could have improved.
Just so you know, this scene was not meant to be viewed as stand alone but rather as a final wrapup to a particular Origin Romance Playthough.

The song used was not the love song as you say, but rather a song heard only *once* in the game and it was sort of a memory of a certain Bard who sang in Camp. As far as Crescendo is concerned I created the climactic connection of the kissing music heard throughout the romance portion of the game with Lelianas song and designed it so that they would kiss during that portion of the music, (as a theme style) having the kissing music end the scene, bringing back memories of a long time romance at a gratifying game ending. (Plus the music combo in itself is emotional in my opinion.

The post coronation music had nothing emotional about it other than the army hero winning a medal, so I personally don't find that appropriate for any romantic emotion in the scene.

Since this scene was created with a musical background clip style (much like the lovescene) then talk wouldn't have been appropriate nor technically possible unless I manipulated the VOs, and I preferred not to make any unnecessary changes to the vanilla game and certainly not insert words into anyones mouth that hadn't been scripted by the original writers.

So  as far as emotional response is concerned I have had countless comments of women in tears watching this video, (as I tear myself even after seeing it 3768326894327894times which is due to the combination of visuals and music together.) so, bascially I would love to get constructive criticism, but it seems you are providing me with inaccurate basal info in some of your suggestions. The VO is valid, only I am against messing with lore if I can help it.

BTW you were right about Lord of the Rings..that was what was in my mind when I made the bowing parts :)

*laughs* Too true.

I did melt a little at the expressions on Alistair's face and the Warden's, they looked so happy and in love, which was great considering the hell they'd gone through.

So the critic and the suggestion was good after all, isn't? Also for the male wardens, for those who marry Anora, hearing her say "I do" and the warden smiles or some kind gesture supressed by the music might have done it.

I suppose that yes, like the mod, enjoy the mod but I think its fair to share opinions and suggestions on a finished work, ideas can be used sooner or later.

Add me to the list of people who cried watching it. And I'm not even an Alistair fan!

......maybe :bandit:

And I agree with Dahlia's post. Having voice in there would not have been as impactful imo.
I don't think Alistair ever says "I do" in such a way as to feel like he is saying THE "I do".
And sometimes, no words has more meaning. It's implicit. We know what they will say. So the focus is more on the ambience, the feeling of the scene, imo, and not so much what they say which at the end of the day is just a formality.

I really can't think of anything that would need to improved in the scene, Dahlia. It's clear there was a lot of though, attention and care for detail put into it.

I'll admit though, it killed any desire I had to play Awakening anytime soon. :)

So it means I'll be doing that part of my fanfic from memory. Or maybe just rewriting the darned thing.
