What did you do for the Quarian Engineer on his Pilgrimage? Negotiated a deal between him and the elcor, threatened the elcor, asked for him to be released, gave him some credits for his ticket offworld, or told him tough luck and take care? If having them being apart of the Normandy as a crew member was a option, would you allowed for them to be onboard, or present them other options, or not care period?

I just donated a few credits to the dude... shepard isn't obligated to do anything for anyone if it isn't his mission.

I generally use the intimidate option on Harrot. I'm assuming that by doing this I'm not betraying poor Kenn. I'm really not sure if that's true though.

Now, would I offer him a job? Sure, same for Lia'Vael. However I doubt either of them would want to work on a Cerberus ship.

right... so i guess shepard shouldn't waste his time with the idea of being generous, thus procrastinating with his overall missions at hand by being detoured by extra-metagaming dialogue/pointlessness.

Discounts are critical to my mission.

true... but "looting" is like a "main" priority within missions too...

if you're giving him money for his tickets, then why not exchange the items for that?... what's the point of the discounts then?...

I thought you lose your discount with Kenn if you give him the money to get a ticked off of Omega?

I've though about that, actually, but in the end my peace of mind is better by "charming" Harrot (it's really just an intimidate going in the opposite direction) and then paying his way off when I head back to Omega on disc two.

I don't know if I'd give either of them a permanent job, but I'd certainly send them to the Normandy and tell Kenneth and Gabby (and Tali, if she's around) to put them to work for several hours, give them a meal (if we've got dextro food around), and pay them.

unless they are a huge interfering factor with shepard's performance or don't do their job...

but he should give you those items for free... literally if you're buying them, you're helping him pay for a ticket, and if you give him money, you're still paying him aswell as donated money to the guy for a ticket... he's like a rip-off or something...

discounts, donation
or still getting discounts, no donation
or no discounts at all, donation
or no discounts at all, plus no donation

seem as if the discounts don't matter really...

I just pay him 1000 creds. Much faster and better than the other options, in my opinion.

...The ****?

I'm not really even giving them a job, I'm telling them to go do a few hours work and get a meal and some creds out of it, as a one-time thing. I don't see how that'd interfere with Shepard's mission, nor why they wouldn't do the work Kenneth and Gabby assign them.

I paragon intimidate (odd combination, that) Harrot, tell the kid he doesn't have to worry about Cigar Breath anymore, buy up everything in his store at a discount, then buy him a ticket offworld.

Does he still give you a discount, though? Those heavy weave upgrades aren't cheap. :P

Ask the kid if we can work something out

Tell Harrot I'll break his legs

And leave it at that.

Yup, my Shepard yells at him before she hands over the cash, therefore getting the discount.

I wonder, though: If Kenn is leaving Omega anyway, why not just give me his stuff for free? Or not?

That always bugged me. I ask him how much more he'll need, which is apparently 1000 credits. What's my 75,000 credits going to, Kenn? Why you gotta play me like that?

I use the Charm option to receive a discount from his store, and then once again use the Charm option on Harrot to convince him to stop manipulating Kenn. After returning to Kenn and revealing that I have persuaded Harrot to leave him alone, and then give him the 1000 credits he needs to leave Omega. Done!

Always this talk about the "mission" and how everything else doesnt matter bla bla

If thats the case, why even buy the extra stuff? You can beat the collectors with the gear you get in the beginning ^^

Well, that depends on how you handle NG+. But you only get my respect if you do that on Insanity.

I'll take Kenn's upgrades gladly considering.

Negotiate a discount with Kenn, "charm" Harrot into backing off, buy the needed upgrades then give the quarian 1000 credits.

I know. Self-defeating effort. Renegade option was actually smarter in this case to convince the elcor to buy the kid out. Still can't do it

But hey, always had credits to buy the needed equipment in the end (shrug)

In regards to whether I'd let him come aboard - yeah, I'd let him. TIM didn't give me a requisitions officer.

Would a quarian join a Cerberus crew? Well I'd tell them they have a 99% chance of finding some amazing sh*t for their Pilgrimage if they traveled with ol' Commander Shepard.

"Seriously, I clear out so many damn merc ships, they're huge, you could cart any of them back to the Fleet."
"No really, I wade through so much valuable advanced technology I have to destroy half of it just to get by."

Yup. I don't think I would have much use for another quarian, but a requisitions and/or salvage officer would be useful.

Also, I paragon intimidate Harot (How bout you let the kid set his own prices and I don't break your legs!) and then give him the credits.

In the end, it isn't the discount that I do it for, it's the paragon points.

I  convince Harot to buy out Kenn's business. Good for Harot's business and Kenn can continue on his pilgrimage. I also find Harot's reactions humorous.
