I love all this Carver fanart! <3

Going back to earlier... I guess I'm one of the few who thinks that Isabela and Merrill aren't good enough for Carver. I don't want either of them to hook up with my lilltle bro.

I remember when Izzy first started messing with Carver. I remeber saying, "oh hell no! Move along skank!"
And Mererill, love her, but no way is big sis Hawke gonna let her get near Carver with her blood magic.

Why can't Carver find a normal girl like Macha? :P

I don't think my Hawkes would have as much of a moral dilemma about him and Isabela as they would with him and Merrill. In Isabela's case, it's pretty obvious it's just mutual lust. She doesn't have any say in what her grown brother wants to do with his nights. And from that incredibly suggestive flirting and sudden boost of confidence in Legacy, it's obvious he's been hanging around his share of 'Isabela's already. :P

Both of my mages would be very unsupportive of Merrill/Carver however, for different reasons:

Rosalind is very, VERY anti-blood mage, plus that Carver is a Templar (seriously, Templar Carver? You're going to flirt with the blood mage apostate?!), so she would try to steer him away from a relationship that she believes would only end in him getting hurt.

For Adrianne, while she doesn't support blood magic, she doesn't think anyone who uses it is automatically evil. However, she wouldn't want him with Merrill because Merrill was forced to kill her whole clan and is in a very vulnerable place, so she would fear Merrill becoming attached and then having her heart broken when he had to go back to Wardening.

In a perfect world I could see Merrill/Carver working, but Carver's world is not a perfect one. :(

I'd rather have Carver learning a thing or two about women from Isabela than him using poor girls like Peaches!

Oh, I dunno... Peaches sounded like the town bicycle.

Still not the kind of girl I'd want for Carver LOL.

I'd totally hook Carver up with Isabela except most of my ManHawkes tap that (once in a while they even stay with her, if I feel like setting him up with someone that DOESN'T have giant piles of baggage) and it would just be Awkward. Because you KNOW Isabela would compare the two and tell us her findings. And that would be both hilarious and horrifying.

By the way, while I will generally be playing Legacy in Act 2, when I miss my sibling the most, Carver is adorable during the Family Moment if you do it in Act 1. Such a little boy sometimes still. <3

Right: a question for all you Carverites. If you side with the mages in the endgame, and Carver is a Templar, does he walk out of the Gallows with you after the Meredith battle?

I don't think so. If I remember correctly, only the companions who are in your party at that time will walk out of the Gallows with Hawke.

And since he's in my party, at that time... he goes. ;)

Chig: you're converting me to Izzy/Carver.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I was planning on including him in my party anyway.

Izzy and Merril can back off. I want Carver for me.

Wait, I thought that templar Carver would never join your party again and that he only stood up for you against Meredith (becoming an unplayable ally).

As I joked in the Isabela thread, I can forgive Carver for hitting on Isabela.

Its clear while Hawke was beating the Arishok in single-combat...

Templar/Warden Carver was busy "beating the Arishok... in single combat..."

As far as I know, he joins you either way.  Chig will have to verify though, My Templar!Carver playthrough bugged out and I haven't gone back to it to finish yet.

Well Templar!Carver is waiting for me to finish my DE Warden playthrough anyway, so I'll find out eventually.

It depends on whether you side with the mages or templars. If you side with the templars, Carver can be selected for the final fight.

First playthrough --> Played as a Rogue so he got squished by the Ogre...I thought he was a little funny and a bit sad that you lost him early on.

Second playthrough --> Played as a Mage so he would survive
--> Led to interesting banter where the siblings would argue amongst each other when trying to get into the Deep Roads Expedition
--> More arguing when in Gamlen's "house" but eventually reaching an uneasy truce when he got his gift after Birthright was completed
--> Went into the Deep Roads and ended up making him a Grey Warden to save his life.

It was interesting to get some insight into his character, instead of him dying outright on my first playthrough, but even though I disliked him at first, I think his dialogue when you first meet Fenris sealed it for me: when Carver's all "You're gonna have to go through me to get to her!" and I just smiled thinking "Aw, bro!  You do love me after all! ^_^"

I've only just gotten to near the end of Act 2, before the Qunari invasion, with my MageHawke.  I wonder how Carver will react when they bump into each other during the attack?...

I approve two Carvers.

Sadly, Dhiro won't be able to play Legacy for a long time, so NO CARVER FOR HIM. I'm doing another mage run and the more I play with him the more I luv him forever.

Love the thread, love the art, love the Carver love!

I think Carver is a great character! It is refreshing to not have the shiny-eyed squishy lovey-dovey fanclub relationship that every other character can have with regards to my Hawke. I like that he is outspoken, not given to hide his viewpoints, especially when they clash with my Hawke, but I never, ever doubt that he's got my back when he's in my party. Personality aside, Carver is loyal to his family. He's proven it over and over. And I think that the writing for this character and the voice-acting were excellent. I adore Carver. I play a mage just so I can keep him. :)

+ 10 internets

How I adore Carver. I only wish I could bring him through all 3 acts.

Edit: But as much as I adore Carver and want him for my DA3 LI, I totally ship Merrill and Carver for DA2. They're just too cute.
