Very true. Nico Lennon did an amazing job voicing Carver.

Was just starting a new PT today to see if I could manage to complete a Fenris romance (for a change), and I have a very difficlut time not picking the sarcastic dialogue option in the first dialogue with Bartrand.

"My brother has a point. It's on his head, but it's still valid."

Ah, brothers! <3

From the summary of today's chat with Mike Laidlaw regarding Mark of the Assassin:

Companions will flirt with Tallis, and Carver has not lost his "thing for elves."

I am pleased.

BERELINDE if you're going to do a fenris mance, do it rivalry style, and be PURPLE HAWKE.

DO IT.

Purple Hawke: Because trolling your brother, your boyfriend, your mother, and all of the rest of Kirkwall nothing put pure horribly wonderful entertainment.

I am so torn by Tallis taking up a spot. Anders is my Li so he has to be there, but I would also like to have either Aveline of Isabella since it seems to be these two who has special dialog. But not taking Carver in my main playthrough... seems like a crime.

Oh, I already know I can troll Carver. He's great fun to do that to. But I've already played purple Hawke before, and was unable to stick with Fenris after the split, despite rivalry. Never done a red Hawke.

Definitely going to rival Carver and make him a templar, though. Never really played through that way, and templar Carver has some good lines in Legacy. If I can get that far.

Edit: Oh, and if I bother getting the new DLC, I'm going to take Carver anywy. Word is that he's got some extra content himself. I guess it's to make up for the fact that he's got nothing for 2/3 of the game.Image IPB

I really hope that I can finally get some Carver/LI banter, particularly with Anders, like I've been begging for since well before DA2 came out.

Oh, please for the love of God let that be the case.  And not bugged out like in Legacy.  Though, I'll miss taking Izzy.  But I have to have Carver and Fenris with Anna (red/purple Hawke/Fenris LI/Templar siding.)

(I'm still redoing Margaret's (purple Hawke/Anders LI/Mage siding) game and I'm not to Act 2 yet.)

Agreed.

It'd also be nice if the rivalry romance with Sebastian wouldn't get ignored again.

Yeah, Legacy was a step in the right direction despite the bugs.  Every LI but Fenris had some mention in Carver dialogue, though friendmanced Sebastian and Merrill had an entire banter.  Izzy got a line from Hawke (nothing different from Carver, IIRC), and I think one of templar Carver's lines was different if you romanced Anders.

But I want moooore.

:crying:  That was very, very sad, but in a good way.  I always feel like sending Carver to the Grey Wardens is the "right" choice, but there's so much potential for story material with him as a Templar.  I'd like to think that if he stays with the Templars after the end of the game, he and Cullen try to rebuild and reform the order for the better.

Thanks, Teen. I usually prefer him to be a Grey Warden, too. But that prompt just.... grabbed me.

I was playing yet another mage today, and my son was watching me as I was getting ready for the Deep Roads expedition.  He told me that we need to leave Carver behind because we lost our sister.  I think he still remembers that our choices could actually kill party members in the ME2 suicide mission, so I went along with him.  I have been meaning to see how Carver as a Templar reacts to a pro-mage Hawke during the endgame, so this should be interesting, as well as his differing Legacy dialogue.

I still feel a little guilty, though.  It's got to be humiliating for a nineteen year old guy to be told to go home with Mommy by his big sister.

The in-game Hawke who did it, I RP'ed that she told him Mom needed to be looked after.  Not like Gamlen was any help in that. :D

I have a hard time making Carver a templar. I like to side with the mages, so I miss having him along for that small part of Act 3 where Warden Carver makes his reappearance.

The ficlet wasn't ABOUT Carver being a Templar, it was just the most likely way to accomplish the prompt.

LOL, just pointing it out. Don't want someone to read it and say I'm telling them how to play their game, or something.

I kinda prefer more the templar Carver than Warden Carver b/c the ending in DA2 is just perfect IMO. I just love that scene.

Yeah I don't wanna spoil the ending, but prefer templar Carver much more. Seems just so fitting with a Mage Hawke. Especially if they're brothers.
