For the love of all that is holy, I hope not. Firstly, he doesn't have a "Fereldan" accent, so that knocks him off the list. Secondly, his voice is so easily identifiable and barely changes between characters. I play enough JRPGs to have heard him voicing 2389284 protagonists, party members and NPCs that I don't want to hear him any more than I have to

Ouch! He deverves some credit for voicing all of those random NPC's, they sounded pretty Ferelden when I chatted with them like the deserters from the Blackstone Irregulars and those collective liasons. I also don't see how him being so identifiable would affect the character so badly, its like your saying Brian Bloom would be horrible to play Varric because of all the dwarves he's portrayed in Origins.

Yeah, but that accent is for what, a handful of lines? Not the same level as a full blown party member that has significantly more. I'm fairly certain they're going with people that have real accents anyway.

Yuri Lowenthal's voice is fairly distinct. You can tell immediately that it is him. The issue isn't that his voice is identifiable, it's that it is overused and in every single game. Sorry if I prefer more variety. I don't think he's a bad VA or anything, it just gets kind of annoying to hear him all the time in every game I play regardless of the genre.

But anyway, Carver. I like the big sister/little brother dynamic so that pretty much cemented me playing a mage whereas before I was waffling between rogue and mage for my first run. Second will be a rogue, so Bethany will be spared.

It's good to know that I'm not the only one who was having trouble deciding what to play.
I also want Carver on my first run through the game.

I am not quite sure that the article is saying that if Hawke is a warrior or rogue, Carver will die, and if mage, he will live. I am pretty sure that is what the article is saying....Which proves that having a mage is vital to the story<_< I was really hoping for Carver/HawkeRogue combo:(

Maybe not the best comparison. We all know what happened to Superman when he fought Doomsday. :POr at least comic fans do. Glad I got out of that, more money for vidya gaems.

What does everyone think of the idea that Bethany/Carver may just be prologue companions? I hope it's not true, personally, because I'd like to have at least one sibling in my party for most of the game.

I really hope we get a character trailer soon. I'd settle even for a shared Hawke Twins trailer. We really have nothing to go on with either twin aside from how they look.

I don't think we will see any char videos soon...most of the companions haven't even been announced As a matter of fact Carver/Bethany haven't been announced! Weird...
