Does anyone know how Carver can be saved? I want him on my party permanently.

I think Carver is only spared if your Hawke is a mage. Otherwise you get Bethany. It would be cool to have both of them, but I don't think that's going to be possible.

That's too bad I'm playing warrior first so that means he's going to die. I wanted to have both and thought he could be saved regardless of your class. Too bad I guess, I'm going to have to wait until I use a mage then.

I can't remember what thread it was in, but siblings always have black hair because it goes well with all skin tones.

You can save both Bethany and Carver by choosing not to help Aveline and Wesley. By leaving them to die, you buy enough time to escape with both your siblings.

Thats great but someone always ends up dying no matter what. I guess Aveline will have to wait until another playthrough then.

I don't believe this was ever actually confirmed by the devs. I don't even think saving a sibling based on class has been confirmed by the devs either, at least, nowhere that I've seen. I could be wrong though!

EDIT: I looked through the "What we know so far" thread and it looks like I was wrong about the latter, but I am sure the former has not been confirmed.

I hope that you can save your siblings without having to choose a specific class.

I know that it's been confirmed that what class you play determines the sibling that fights with you in the beginning. Mage= Carver and Warrior/Rogue= Bethany.

As far as saving the other sibling, it has not been confirmed that they MUST die based on your class or if leaving Aveline saves them.

What?! I thought they changed based on what preset face you choose, and the coloring would change accordingly. This isn't true? Posted Image

Your sibling's skin tone and facial structure changes, but it's been confirmed that their hair color will remain the same.

Dragon Age Wiki says his skin tone will also be matched with Hawke's while his hair will always be black to prevent clash of dark skin and fair hair. The same applies for Bethany and Leandra why do you think they prevent Dark Skin and Fair Hair i see nothing rong with that Dark Skin and Fair Hair sounds fine

I like having a dark skin and white hair combo. And hey, if Fenris has something like that, why not the Hawkes?

Hm, I quite often saw combination of blonde hair and tan in RL, and generally it looks fine.

WIll be interesting to see if there will be sibling rivalry when I go after a romance, if Carver gets jealous or something or tries to "get in the way" if I have a bad approval with him.

I think they're talking about a few shades darker than just tan, though.  I can see why they're keeping black as the only option, but it will be interesting to see if mods introduce different colors.

Considering people have managed to mod the hair/armour/etctera colours of ME2's characters (blonde MIranda springs to mind) without any kind of toolset, I think this kind of mod is inevitable, whether or not they release a DA2 update.

I agree. But I do wonder how different Carver's face is going to look if you pick a different preset as opposed to sticking with the default one. I think I'll be stuck in the first part of the game for awhile as I check out the differences.

You and me both.  Perhaps the family's faces will appear at some point in the character creation process, though I doubt it.

Yeah. Me too. It would be cool if they showed up in character creation like you said. And before it would get finalized, you could go back and change things to see the differences.

But more than likely I'll just play through and recreate my charcter until I'm happy with the way the family looks. :wizard:

Another hack job on Carver's reputation by the vile and devious pseudocognition:
