Hey fellow Carver fans! I was making a 'DA2 Party' banner and that included making one for Carver, so I decided to make a few variations to post here if anyone wants them.







Unfortunately, I didn't have a lot to go on as far as quotes.. Maybe I'll update it with something catchier once we know more of his lines.

I've been thinking I wanted to start playing as a mage just so I could have Carver in my party. I do agree that the poor bro doesn't get much love but I'm actually pretty interested to know how much his character develops. I mean I was pretty sure I wanted to play a warrior/rogue but either of those choices are Bethany.



I hope there's at least a chance to save Carver even if you can't have him given your class. Choices, choices....

I hope that Carver isn't the Donut of Dragon Age 2 (Red vs Blue) and if he is, I will be either upset, or be a mage all the time!

Donut Example:

Donut: I took four years of highschool Spanish! That's the best way to learn any language!

Sarge: What have you two been talking about?

Donut:
Oh, the usual Spanish fare: I told him my name, asked him what his name
was, asked him if he knew where the bathroom was, how much a ticket for
the train costs, and asked him for the check!

Nah. I don't think Carver will be like Donut at all. Although, seriously, I do think Donut is hilarious. It wouldn't surprise me if he had *gasp* smarts!

Oh my. Four years of high school Spanish. That certainly sounds familiar. And look! It's all the things I still remember how to say, and probably will never need to. If Carver does turn out to be Donut after all, I hope we get conversation options that let us rib him a little bit. You know, lovingly, like older siblings do. 'Course I hope we can do that regardless :innocent: Also, now that I realize Red vs. Blue exists, I'll go spend the next few hours watching it. I wasn't gonna go to sleep anyway...

I was hoping for a close relationship. Sounds like he'll be a little antagonistic.
He must be resentful about the templars being a problem. Or maybe he blames Hawke for Bethany's death?
Or worse... both!

Looks like he and I will have a lot to work through.

I thought that was kinda interesting when Mike announced that in the stream. So I guess Bethany is more onto the friendship scale while Carver is at the rivalry..interesting. But I'm sure you can be nice to him and sway him to be on more friendlier terms, and heck who knows he might warm up to Hawke considerably instead of always being the unhappy little bro.

Perhaps... unless he's so pissed that he does something to betray me to the templars, which would be an interesting angle.

I was disheartened to hear it. The brotherly rivalry and power posturing is something I don't like (especially between two men). So hopefully, he can be swayed into being a sweet(er) little brother quickly.

I wouldn't be surprised if he does that to protect himself, or his mother even. Seing as your Hawke is the reason why he's getting into all these conflicts.

Though Carver does seem like an impulsive type of character..so I can see why he's on the rivalry scale. Bethany on the other hand seems to be kinda calm from the previews I've seen so far.

It seems like they wrote him with a male player in mind, brotherly rivalry and all that. <_< I'm hoping you can win him over onto your side. Although if the rumors of his allegiance with the templars are to be believed, that's going to be awfully hard for my mage to accomplish.

Naturally, I really hope Carver doesn't betray us. But I have to admit that I like how distinct the personalities are between the twins. Though he leans more towards rivalry, I wonder if how hard it is to gain friendship with him?

I don't think it was said that there are companions that you can only go Friendly/Rival with them, they all have both.

I like that difference too. I know some people were worried that Bethany and Carver would just be the same person, but I'm really glad that the writers gave them their own personalities.

I wonder this very much. I really want a good relationship with him. Of course, now that I'm thinking about it. It might be better that he's already a little ways onto the rivalry path. It might make the path that much more rewarding if we can reconcile.

This is true. There will just be different bonuses along the way deciding on which path people take.

I think someone quoted Lukas Kristjanson a few pages back saying that he wrote for two characters:
one who might not be out to hurt Hawke but who may do so in the end, and one who might set out to hurt Hawke but will ultimately not do so.
