Perhaps our roles are opposed for Bethany as well? She might be on a high frienship scale so it may be hard for people who choose to be rivals with her.

I want to be friends with Carver so bad! While it'll be cool to have Carver respect me on the "Rival" path, what I was most looking forward to was a real bond with my little brother! I want to have that awesome, close relationship of two friends... I want to have... I dunno...

I want Carver and manHawke to be like Jake and Elwood Blues! Or the Hardy boys! Or, hey, I'd even take Julius and Vincent Benedict, because at least they got the most hilarious eighties-style ending ever.

I really hope I can have that with Carver. He seems like a guy I could really respect, but I want friendship. Fingers seriously crossed!

Just imagine his protective brother act if you were able to romance Anders? I can see Carver trying to threaten Anders into treating Hawke properly and getting a faceful of Vengeance instead.

I’m going to try not to read too much into it. Might and may seem like key words. And as Amagoi mentioned, all companions have both scales. If Carver starts out more towards the rival end, there are surely some choices you can make to have him warm up to you. If they aren’t what your Hawke would choose, however…ah, well. Either way, it should be interesting. I’ll definitely be happy if the twins are different characters in their own right. I was kinda nervous that the siblings would have swap-in lines and sort of substitute for each other. Whatever goes down, as long as the story’s good, I’ll forgive them anything. Probably

Me too. Derp shmerp, he looked as competent as any party member to me. And my interest in the lady pirate was piqued a little, too. It’s going to be a long month.

Why? Well, you
really don't know enough about the party members yet. When I started my
first playthrough I was sure I was going to include X in my party (name
changed to protect the innocent). However, once I met up with her/him,
I found out that he/she was much more of... well... much more of a dick
than I was expecting. Since I was playing a "Mr Nice Guy" playthrough,
I didn't want to use that character once I got to know them.

However, I was sure to use her/him in my next playthrough where I played as a total snotty bad-ass.

urge you not to make up your minds till you play. The NPCs the team
have made are not as "simple" as they seem. There are very distinct

Thisssssss. I can't wait to see if Carver is all torn up about Bethany's death. Is he the kind of guy to openly mourn, or is will he shoulder it and try to be "strong"? Will he blame Hawke for her death? These questions tantalize me.... But then again, I'm very eager to discover what kind of sibling-dynamic I'll have with Carver. Bitter rivals, or (hopefully!) best buds?

I hope not, but my gut says it is him.

I'm actually hoping he was talking about Fenris after watching a video of him speaking. For some reason the idea of him being a jerk makes him a lot more appealing to me, like the HK or Canderous of the group, so to speak.

Hard to say, since we don't know much about anyone. But I'm not so sure that would be directed at Fenris. Given his history, I wouldn't call it unexpected. Maybe Anders? I bet people would expect him to be a lighter character because of Awakenings. I haven't played it myself, but I've seen some youtube videos and people talk like he's funny and good-natured. Now that he's stuck in a new, uhhhm, situation, his personality might be pretty different.

I hope the people who keep going on about Carver's supposed continued 'derpiness' have their picture taken at random moments, preferrably while speaking, and then uploaded to the internet. No one looks good when you take a series of pictures while someone is talking, then pick out the funny looking ones.

I'm actually quite excited that he's high on the rivalry scale, wouldn't it be more dramatic that he goes from a I-hate-you status to I-care-about-you later? And the same goes to Beth! Ahh, I can't wait!

The live-video certainly put a new light on Carver.... eep.... Hope that I'll be able to win his trust in the end, since I'm playing Fem!Hawke we shouldn't compete for the same LI. Unless we both go for Isabella. Then we might have a problem. This will be so much fun =)

Huh. Not excited with recent reveals about Carver. He started as adorable little brother (yeah, I know, I know, I shouldn't assume anything based on lacking information, but still), but now he's looking more and more like a mix of Yoshimo and Anomen (minus the romance part, of course).



Second-guessing our decisions, rapidly gaining rivalry points and possibly hurting us at the end. I was on a fence which class to choose, and leaned more to mage on the first run, because of Carver. But now I wonder...
