I'm still heartbroken about the fact that we can't save both, Carver and Bethany.

Me too. That's why I will be playing as a mage

Also Carver seems to have a protective side, too. If you click on him during the demo version, he will have a few unique lines and in one of them he reassures FemHawke that if she needs to rest, he will stand guard.
If only all little brothers were like that. <_<
This is why I'm looking forward to having Carver in my first playthrough. I think he's going to be a great foil for my mage FemHawke.Alexine wrote...
Thanks Dana for the codex entry. It is
indeed very sad that Carver felt sad that he couldn't stand out between
his siblings. I think it would be interesting to see how Carver pans
out to be through the game. Its no wonder he's more rivalry than
friendship. But I hope you can change that, depending on how you act as
Hawke.

I tried to add sparkles, but I failed. Badly.
One of these days I'm going to master that gimp program. I swear it!

As an unintended side effect, I have been rendered incapable of not seeing Carver as Alphonse Elric.
No, it... it doesn't make any sense to me either. (..Well, aside from the fact that he's big, covered in metal, and your younger bro, but you get the picture.)
Now whenever I play the game, I'll be imagining that he's got a kitten tucked into his armor somewhere. Dear god, I am hopeless. ;3;

Hahaha, I love it though!
I'd add it if I knew how.

Here's a link I keep in my bookmarks in case I need to remember how to add pics or links on these boards.
I hope this helps...

I feel your pain, willow. My signatures kept being resized and I read the thread about getting around it but never could figure it out. Aris's is shiny, though.

"I said I miss Bethany. All we've done since Lothering is run away. From darkspawn, from our memories. And I'm tired of it!" Standing up suddenly, Carver began pacing, unshed tears glistening in his blue eyes. "I just--I want to remember her. Her smile, her laugh. That look on her face when she was about to light us on fire for doing something stupid." He chuckled a little at the thought, shoulders slumping. Getting up, Marian pulled her little brother into a hug.
"It's okay, Carver. I miss her too. But just imagine what she would think of us, sitting here moping about her."
"She'd probably appreciate it."
"Heh, you're probably right. And then she'd whack us with her staff and call us ninnies," Marian grinned, stepping back and ruffling her brother's hair. Carver smiled then, mussing his sister's hair in return.
"Come on," Marian stated then, "Mother is probably wondering where we wandered off to. I'd hate to tell her you were peeping on Isabela again..." Marian smirked deviously as her brother's face turned red.
"Hey! I was not!" Tossing a playful punch at Marian's arm, he followed her back inside, grumbling about lying siblings.

I hope we can talk with our siblings about the other one's death. A sad moment, yes, but a golden opportunity to bond with the living one.

"Carver, what are you doing out here?" Marian asked, sitting down next to her brother on the steps outside their uncle's estate. Carver mumbled something inaudible, causing Marian to ask, "What was that?"

Aww, that's sweet <3
I, too, hope that we can express grief when we interact with the surviving sibling. It would make me feel closer to whoever lives. It would be horrible if the dying sibling isn't mentioned again after escaping Lothering. No matter how much time passes, you never get over a sibling's death. It should be a very important event in Hawke's life.

I made it 350x43, and when I look at the info in my signature now, it says it resized it to 277x34. Go figure! I wished they had a FAQ on these boards that had info on sigs and avatars, etc.
I think the maximum height for your signature is 50 pixels, but the maximum height of an image seems to be 34 pixels (that's what it scales every larger image to). If you don't use a gif, you can cheat by using two images of 25 pixels high.

Is that a walking set of legs in the background?
Edit: Nevermind. Carver just sliced that man in half I take it.
