I notice that there seems to be a lot of concern about Carver betraying Hawke at some point in the storyline and while I think that might happen and think it would be an interesting plot twist, I do think he will stand with you in the end. My only evidence is supposition and I am probably overthinking this. If Varric's exaggerated story in the prologue is supposed to be what people think of when they think of Hawke, it doesn't make sense that Carver would be there cutting darkspawn in half right beside his older brother/sister if they are on opposing sides. I might be reading too much into this, but I think that no matter what happens in between, by the end we will have a brother standing beside us.

Let's hope that you are right, jdunn.

How the hell do you get Custom Forum Avatars? Some of the ones I've seen for Carver look PRETTY cool.

Personally, I don't like scruff. So Carver looks odd to me with it. I'd prefer him clean shaven or full on beard. But I don't know if DA2 has the engine for a good enough beard model yet...

Her eyes are amazing, and I like that they match Carver's. I can't wait for midnight!!!

Also, I kind of do see the Lowan/Carver resemblance when he has stubble. I liked Jowan, but I hope I don't think "Hey Jowan!" any time that Carver gets scruffy.

I've tried tricking the board into grabbing a custom Carver avatar, but I can't for the life of me figure it out. It seems very selective about what it wants to upload. <_< For the two character creator characters I made it only uploaded the image of one, and did it before I could replace it with something custom, and of the two actual characters of mine that it uploaded, it completely ignored the image of one of them.

I've given up, I'll just stare enviously at the custom Carvers avatars of others. And glare at Saibh's.

Heck, I wish I knew. I tried reading the guides on how to do it, but it went so far over my head I didn't even feel the air rushing past me. I can't even figure out how to make signatures taller than 34 pixels work, so I'm relying on the skills of others (which I don't care as much about, their efforts turn out way better than mine). Amagoi's is sharp though, isn't it?

And yet some people have like... animated gifs and such for their avatars. My mind cannot begin to fathom how this works. I want one too. With Carver and like... blood going everywhere. But I guess I'll just have to settle for my stupid Elf.

It's quite easy:

-make the avatar you want

-size must be 146x146 pixel

-rename it to "x_portrait"

-copy it into the folder "Pre-release Characters" and make sure the PC is not able to re-write it

-open DA:O or the DA:O character creator and create a character with the name you used for the portrait (in this case "x")

-click on "Upload Information" and then check your DA Player Profile



Voila!

I found playing as a rogue to be very disorienting - all the jumping and twirling and backstabbing.

And Carver won't get to meet a certain witch:

I almost always play rogues, and I actually *hate* playing mages, (with a fiery burning passion), but Carver evens the odds.
