Yep! If Hawke was a warrior (or rogue?), then he/she was there as well. I think that's pretty cool.

Well, I'm recycling Meghan's personality first. (Cuts down on the character voices in my head.) Meghan + Little Brother + Probable LI Anders....
I'm going to be cracking myself up.

Where did it say Hawke was in the army? Missed that.
Dang it! Now I have to go back and play it again. I think I got some friendship points from Carver when we were talking to Wesley. I think I was pretty nice in the playthrough I'm thinking of in all the speaking options. I'll have to que it up again, but I think when all was said and done, it showed Bethany +10 friendship and Carver +5 friendship.KawaiiKatie wrote...
CARVER, WHY WON'T YOU LOVE ME?
I mean- *ahem*-
Has anyone figured out how to boost Carver's approval? I've run the demo now as a completely "nice" mage, and as a random mage who was "nice" and "snarky" and "aggressive" at any given time, just because I felt like it. But nothing seemed to raise or lower Carver's approval.
Does he just not care what my Hawke does as we escape Lothering? I mean, that's completely fair, but Bethany seems entirely eager to give her Friendship Points away when I do "dipolmatic" things, so I expected Carver to at least disapprove of my actions every now and again.
I mean, maybe DA2 won't work that way, but in DA:O, every character had something the responded well to. Zevran love dit when you flirted. Sten approved when you were forceful. Wynne enjoyed it when you actually listened to her, instead of screaming "omg, shut up, that's enough lectures for one day!"
WHAT'S CARVER'S DEAL?
Does he like snark? He seemed to like snark ("Another blade between us and the Darkspawn? Yes, please!") but I didn't notice an approval change when I was snarky. Does he respond well to force? Oh, man, if Carver likes it rough-!
Carver, I just want you to love me. Is that too much to ask?

Apparently if you don't pick the question "Why should I trust you?" in the convo with Wesley, you'll get Carver friendship points. If you notice when you do pick that question Carver disagrees with you.
