yes jed said the character lithos will be shipped in the new format. Glad to see my lithos are going to be very well protected. We really shouldn't hear any complaints from shipping anymore. I hope they don't raise the shipping prices though, they already raised the litho price...

Here is the latest update on Lithograph packaging.
1) All Lithographs will be poly-bagged and then taped to a thick cardboard backing.
2) This will be placed inside the current box that we are using to ship.
3) This box will be placed inside a larger box surrounded by packing material to limit movement of the inner box.
4) Outerbox will be have a fragile do not bend sticker.

This should solve 99% of the issues being discussed related to Lithograph shipments.

Sounds fantastic!

I've been very luck with most of my orders. At worst, I've only had bent corners ans some slight minor dents that aren't visable once framed.

Got my Pragia and Purgatory replacements today. They came in the new packing except they weren't in a poly bag. The corners were damaged and there is a crease on the left side. I don't know if it's worth opening a ticket, if I'm just going to keep getting damaged lithos.

mine weren't in a poly-bag either, and it had been opened in the US for some reason. I didn't have to pay any tax for it, but as soon as I get the mini lithos.. BAM! Tax fee, $20.. :(

In my experience delivery takes roughly 10 days. I've ordered practically every litho relase and so far (knock on wood) I've only had one delivery damaged.

Only ten days, eh? Huh... Question for ya, then: Does anyone know anything about the latest pack of mini-lithos, Citadel and Minuteman? I ordered them on the tenth (twelve days ago, now), and the "Sales Order" history page still says it's "Pending Fulfillment" (even though they charged my card when I placed the order). Now, I can understand it takes a bit, but... is this normal? Since the minis aren't a limited run, I'd of thought they'd ship out fairly quickly. It isn't too big a deal for me right now (I'd kind of hoped they'd be here before Thanksgiving, though, but that's just because friends will be home, and it'd be cool to be able to show off those lithos), but, well, I am starting to get a little impatient. Like I said, I don't mind waiting... but I'd at least like some idea how long I'll have to wait, ya know?

So... Guess my actual question then, is, has anyone else here ordered minis, and does it normally take this long? Or should I go open a support ticket to try to find out what's going on?

UPDATE: Just got a shipping notification e-mail today, (though the tracking number doesn't seem to be working... yet, anyway).

A buddy of mine just gave me his Garrus lithograph as a Christmas present/getting rid of his lithographs deal and it has a slight bend in the bottom right-hand corner.

The bend didn't make a crease on the paper itself, so I was wondering if putting a good bit of pressure on it (like putting several heavy books on top of that corner for a few days) would "fix" the bend. Anyone think this would work? I don't need it to be perfect, just look well enough that it won't be too noticeable in a frame (plus I got it for free, so the slight bend doesn't bother me).

If the paper is not creased then this should at the very least help. I used a similar method to flatten out my lithos when bioware/treehouse sent them in tubes (rolled a little to tight for my liking)

My korlus and purgatory arrived with damaged corners and multiple full-length creases. That was when BWS still used the old flat packaging. Replacements arrived the other day in flawless condition, thanks to the new packaging :)

I just received the Kirkwall lithograph... It was the worst I have ever seen it. The box had a huge punctured hole in it! And it was a regular box, not a tubing at all... I thought the Kirkwall lithograph was supposed to come in tubing, not box, I mean a thick thick tubing to ensure it will arrive safely.

I then took a look at the lithograph, it had several bent or collapsed, I am not sure how to describe the condition, sections in the lithograph in at least three places. Making the picture side look like crap. I am not very pleased at all. Is the store reverting to old method of shipping items in boxes again?

I tried taking pictures of the damage, but it wasn't coming through clear, any suggestion of how to get better picture without blurring or reflections since I am trying to take picture of white side, picture side as well.

Kirkwall was a special case - as it's significantly larger than any other Litho released, they decided not to ship it flat.  The alternative would of course be shipping it rolled, which they had less than an outstanding success in the begining with the regular Lithos which would be why they started shipping them flat.  The past has shown that the Bioware Store is very dedicated to improving and eventually providing the best shipping possible, though, so I wouldn't be surprised if significant steps were taken to improve the shipping of your replacement...

Direct light from a specific low direction to cast shadows...then a picture likewise; obviously not into the light, but at a low angle to reduce glare and to hopefully catch the 3-dimensional variations...

Anuis, perhaps I can help. You can also use some picture editing programs to increase the contrast on your photos (within reason - no more than 10%). This typically makes bends and ripples stand out, helping you show how it is damaged when you are using a low-quality camera.

What are you using to take the pictures?  Cell phone, digital SLR, etc??  That's going to make a difference in picture quality. Cell phones generally don't take good pictures, especially when you have glare or odd light sources, like florescent lighting.

If you have a digital/film camera, or access to someone who does, you will get far better pictures, and be able to compensate for the lighting better. If at all possible, try to take the picture in daylight, or with a non florescent light.

Florescent light fluctuates rapidly. Our eyes can compensate for it, but a camera without a flash cannot, and even with a flash can often net you a poor quality picture if you catch the light the wrong way.

If you have a camera with a flash, try projecting light on the litho from one side (as mentioned previously), and taking the picture at a 90 degree angle. You may have to adjust the flash angle so that it does not fire directly at the glossy surface in order to get the contrast.

Hm.. I am borrowing the camera, so can't say for sure what camera it is since I left mine somewhere... (lost at the moment. ;) ) But I believe it's Fujifilm FinePix A820 if I am reading camera label correctly (the label is kind of worn off). If that helps to give better idea of what to do to correct the problems of blurring.

Just got back from a "delightful" Thanksgiving weekend with the in-laws. Apparently the postal service decided to use my Kirkwall as a garage doorstop.. Submitting a case..

Just an update... I did the suggested method of using indirect light on the lithograph...

Wow.. It showed me a lot more irregularities than I wanted to see. They were too numerous to count but I took pictures mainly of the largest ones. They showed up as black shadows and some are sharp black shadows which has appearance of being pinched. Then on the picture side, I did same thing as using indirect light with flash off and close up option enabled... showed up as white lines (also appeared as pinched, corresponding to the pinched sharp black shadows on back side) which works fine for me.

Wasn't sure if this was the right thread to ask in, but nothing else seemed quite as appropriate and I didn't think it was worth starting a new one for my question.

I ordered the character three-pack when it went on sale back in October; I was just wondering if there was any estimate as to when they would ship or anything. I've never had a store actually charge me for preorder items before they were ready to ship, so it's making me a little antsy to have that much money just out there with no idea as to when I'll actually get what I paid for. I was just really hoping there would be some news by now, since I was hoping to have them by Christmas. I've been looking through these forums and haven't seen anything, so I thought it best to go ahead and ask.

They have said that the characters lithos will ship the first week of December, hopefully by next Wednesday they'll be on their way. I really want to frame up Grunt and hang him up myself.

Hmm - I was going to post a problem, but Anuis' is pretty much exactly the same as mine! The box arrived with a dent and hole in the side, but I thought "Well, that won't have penetrated the hardy tube that I'm sure they've secured the lithograph in". Whoops, no tube, just a bit of brown paper wrapping. Result: one dented and scratched Kirkwall Gate.

This close to Christmas I'm not going to risk asking for a replacement to be sent to the UK - I'll take some photos and get a refund instead. There is no excuse at all for everyone who orders a lithograph to be holding their breath to see if it arrives undamaged, or being happy that their lithograph was 'only' creased around the edges in a way they can easily hide with a frame.

Character 3 pack didn't seem to have 3 or 4, as there was no outer box, just the inner one that was used before. The extra cardboard inside did wonders though, although I'm not sure how I feel about the do not bend sticker. I'd like it, but I can certainly see some vindictive postmen (not slandering all of you, but there are those out there who do this) going out of their way to bend something. Overall a big fan of the new packing method, but it still didn't help prevent a bent corner on all 5 lithos.

All 3-Packs should be shipped by the end of the day. All individual character Lithographs will be out by EOD tomorrow. We're hoping to have Miranda and Legion 2 packs out by the end of the week.

Quick note on shipping. There are going to be issues with packages being damaged by shippers. If you send in those photo's with you case we do our best to go after the shipper. We will not ever be able to get to no damages on delicate items on Lithographs, but I can tell you since we've started poly-bagging and using the new packaging our our damage rate is significantly reduced. j

While I understand if you're one of the people who receives a damaged Lithograph the low damage rate doesn't mean anything. What it does mean is that we'll be able to replace your Lithograph without any delays.

Wait, the Miranda and Legion Lithos will ship by the end of THIS week, I knew I should have tried to get a Legion litho for my brother for Christmas.
