Although overall I like the new packaging method, I never once had problems with the bent corners, until with this new shipping method.

The lithos were placed in a bag between two cardboards, which was placed in a flat "folding"-box.
The folding-box was not placed in a bigger box though, which resulted in that each litho got a 3/4" bend on two of the corners. Each bend is divided into three smaller bends with some creasing.
Isn't the folding-box supposed to be placed inside a bigger box?

All the ones I've gotten in the new packaging have been just like yours. And it definitely is new -- it's different than the Normandy packaging and the packaging before that.

I'd recommend they tape the cardboard immediately enclosing the litho in future to prevent any shifting within the outer box that may bang the corners. After carefully examining the packaging and comparing it to the the lithograph I'm pretty sure that some of the damage occurred before shipping. I can't see how the dent on the bottom could possibly happen in the packaging.

They probably decided that double boxing was too expensive. Kind of a shame, because that would definitely fix the problems.

If they indeed have decided to stop using the double box it really is a shame as I'm have a hard time seeing a litho arriving in good shape in the current way of shipping. Atleast for international orders, the longer shipping route the more chance of damage.

It was packaged similarly to my Tali/Grunt/Thane litho pack, except there weren't two inner pieces of cardboard to sandwich the lithos inside of the box. I imagine that's why they were damaged, because there was room for them to shift in the box and ding the corners.

On another note, I seem to have the best postal service ever. I've never received a damaged litho - even the boxes have arrived in pristine condition. I have to think it's the handling more than the packaging that results in the damaged lithos. Of course, I've probably just cursed myself by saying this.

Yeah umm then why did my Legion only come in one box with no cardboard backing and hell it didn't even say on the outside of the box fragile and do not bend. My Legion came with a bend straight across the middle, pretty sad.BioWareStore Jedi wrote...
Here is the latest update on Lithograph packaging.
1) All Lithographs will be poly-bagged and then taped to a thick cardboard backing.
2) This will be placed inside the current box that we are using to ship.
3) This box will be placed inside a larger box surrounded by packing material to limit movement of the inner box.
4) Outerbox will be have a fragile do not bend sticker.
This should solve 99% of the issues being discussed related to Lithograph shipments.
Seriously how much of a hassle is it to get a replacement? Or do they even have replacements? This is a bit ridiculous. These lithos are 1 in 500, yet they pack them like they're 1 in 1,000,000!
If my Miranda comes damaged then I'm making a formal complaint because this is just bs. $15 for shipping is way overpriced and you're telling me that they can't double box because it is too expensive?
I haven't even mentioned I'm a first time customer and this really isn't a way to impress me to comeback...

Ditto. It seemed like UPS tried hard to bend the box in the middle <_<
It's the first time that I get some damage on my lithos other than the usual very small crease in the corners.
I put them under some heavy weights. I'll wait a couple of days to see if the crease in the middle disappear. If not I'll send them back <_<

Honestly I just have bad luck with shippers. I was just hopeful from reading stuff that they packed these lithographs well. Guess I was wrong.
All I can do now is hope I get a replacement and that it arrives ok and that my Miranda which arrvies tomorrow is ok.

Yeah but what if my replacement gets damaged, as that seems to happen sometimes. Yes handling is an issue no doubt, but for them to not double box is questionable regardless of the extra cost. Besides does that really cost more then having to send out multiple replacements? I'm really more focused on the fact they didnt even put fragile or do not bend on the box. How does the shipping company know to be careful if not told so? Not saying they should be regardless but if not told to take extra caution they won't.

I guess the cost of replacing the damaged lithos is less than the cost of double-boxing all lithos.
The shipping companies never read or don't care about the word Fragile on a package. I even read that a few package handlers will abuse a fragile package on purpose.
Anyway, I hope that Bioware goes back to the original improved packaging with the extra cardboard inside the box.

Yeah, my box was bent right in the middle. The package was too flimsy, shoulda put more cardboard in between the liths. Let me know if you're able to smooth it out by putting weights on it.
