Its weird that theres no consistency in the packaging of wares, surely there should be a procedure those packing it up should follow? Every person seems to have been sent items in different ways

Yeah it seems like its a craps shoot on what packaging you'll get. The three pack I got was shipped with extra cardboard in the box to make it sturdier, only the corners got messed up but I don't wanna make a big deal out of it. But the two pack I got wasn't sturdy, it didn't have any cardboard in the middle. So the box, along with the liths, got bent right in the middle lol. I'm sure they're trying to balance out the shipping expenses, but at what cost...

Im not sure it'd be down to keeping shipping costs down, but they really need to waggle their finger at whoever is packing these. I think all of my corners have been messed up too lol, i believe they're meant to be sticking them in place to stop this....

Well I got my Miranda today and it was flawless (even the corners were perfect), it was also packed exactly like my Legion, actually my Legion was taped in place Miranda wasn't so it indeed does come down to handling but if packed securely then it can take a lot more handling wise.

I also just got a reply from someone with store support and it looks like they won't even be dealing with sending out replacements or anything else until after the holidays, which is understandable. Just thought I'd let people know.

Here is the latest update on Lithograph packaging.
1) All Lithographs will be poly-bagged and then taped to a thick cardboard backing.
2) This will be placed inside the current box that we are using to ship.
3) This box will be placed inside a larger box surrounded by packing material to limit movement of the inner box.
4) Outerbox will be have a fragile do not bend sticker.

This should solve 99% of the issues being discussed related to Lithograph shipments.

Yeah umm then why did my Legion only come in one box with no cardboard backing and hell it didn't even say on the outside of the box fragile and do not bend.  My Legion came with a bend straight across the middle, pretty sad.

Seriously how much of a hassle is it to get a replacement?  Or do they even have replacements?  This is a bit ridiculous.  These lithos are 1 in 500, yet they pack them like they're 1 in 1,000,000!

If my Miranda comes damaged then I'm making a formal complaint because this is just bs.  $15 for shipping is way overpriced and you're telling me that they can't double box because it is too expensive?

I haven't even mentioned I'm a first time customer and this really isn't a way to impress me to comeback...

Ditto. It seemed like UPS tried hard to bend the box in the middle

It's the first time that I get some damage on my lithos other than the usual very small crease in the corners.
I put them under some heavy weights. I'll wait a couple of days to see if the crease in the middle disappear. If not I'll send them back <_<

Yeah, my box was bent right in the middle.  The package was too flimsy, shoulda put more cardboard in between the liths.  Let me know if you're able to smooth it out by putting weights on it.

After one day the crease haven't changed at all <_< .

I guess tomorrow I'll open a case :(

Just got my Miranda solo litho today with a huge crease across the middle. Sad, since it seemed packaged correctly. Box, sandwiched between two pieces of cardboard, polybagged. The box itself was manhandled, and it looked bent when resting against my door. I opened a support case.

I'm not sure if this is still supposed to be the case, but the above has only applied to one of my shipments: the other three (I think) didn't have an outer box and the bags containing the lithographs weren't taped in place, resulting in varying amounts of damage to corners of all of the lithographs in two separate shipments.

I've had the same issues myself.  One of my shipments was missing the inner cardboard backing.  Another had no outerbox.  Only one of mine actually had any packing material to limit movement.  It seems hit or miss, which is really disconcerting.

Another thing to note, most of my packages seem to have their tape cut, as if someone was actually trying to look into the box or something.  I thought it was odd, but dismissed it until I noticed another person post about the same thing in the Miranda/Legion litho thread.

My Miranda lithograph came with 3 corners bent and creased. Along one of the sides it was bent in. So mine came in pretty bad shape. If I'm paying 40+ shipping for a lithograph the packing can be and should be done better in my opinion it needs foam or something not just taped to cardboard which mine wasn't. There was no do not bend sticker on my box anywhere.

This was my first purchase from the bioware store and I am really disappointed I'm purchasing a 1 in 500 item it should be packed better. I already opened a support ticket.

My Miranda/Legion lithographs came without the cardboard sandwich lining as well. This is the same packaging that was used for the Normandy's! Fortunately there was no damage (the box seems pretty good aside from the fact that it will cause creases if too much pressure is put on it).

Seriously though, the shipping team needs to get their act together. This is ridiculous that TONS of the orders have corner damage, and some people are still getting lithographs with creases through the middle!

I assumed it was customs doing this, but I guess not.  Normally it's taped shut again but the latest box to turn up wasn't, so it was flapping about a bit on one side.

Just thought I'd add my experience here. I ordered the Kirkwall litho and a couple of posters before christmas. They arrived in a rectangular box, 70cm x 20cm x 20cm. The posters were perfectly packaged, wrapped in paper and placed in a solid cardboard tube. The litho was rolled/folded and stuffed in the box with it, so had creases that had damaged all across the picture marking the folds.

Here's the damage.

i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb153/FakeLugosi/Dragon%20Age%20Litho%201/DSC00193.jpg

Today my replacement litho arrived. Again stuffed in a box the same size, this time the box had a fragile sticker on it and was completely crushed.
i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb153/FakeLugosi/Dragon%20Age%20Litho%202/DSC00200.jpg

This litho seems to have been neatly folded flat causing the same creasing damage across the picture at each fold, only even worse than the 1st one like so:
i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb153/FakeLugosi/Dragon%20Age%20Litho%202/DSC00203.jpg
i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb153/FakeLugosi/Dragon%20Age%20Litho%202/DSC00202.jpg

At this point I don't know whether to try my luck with another replacement, or just demand a refund. Either way I certainly won't be buying any more Image IPB

I'd suggest anybody else thinking of getting one be very wary.

That is by far the worst Kirkwall I've ever seen. I think as a general rule of thumb people have had relatively good luck with that (in comparison to the original ones/Normandy), so I would definetly ask for a replacement. It's not unheard of to get two in a row damaged, I had 3 with one of the DS ones. I would push for replacements unless you're out of patience.

Thats unfortunate FakeLugosi, I'd go with KingBoar and ask for another replacement. Its really up too you, whatever damage your willing to live with or until its too much of a hassle. The Kirkwall packaging is simply horrible and I'm surprised more haven't posted about damages. It looks like your shipper stacked other items on top of your package which caused crush damage since the box is so flimsy.

That damage is pretty horrible. I had my Kirkwall delivered in the same box without the fragile logo via international shipping. One corner was dented quite heavy but never damaged the litho. Untill I opened it I was sure I would have to get a replacement too.

I was quite surprised to be honest by the method in which it was shipped. I was expecting a sturdy and thick cardboard tube with the Kirkwall litho due to it irregular size certainly not a easily crushed cardboard box.

Kirkwall Gate arrived in the most horrible packaging I've ever seen. It was packaged so poorly that I wondered if it was done on purpose for some reason. A thin and flimsy cardboard box and one layer of brown paper around the litho itself. Needless to say, the condition of the lithograph itself was terrible with multiple creases and tears.

Those large tubes BWS used in the past would have been perfect for a litho as large as KG, but for some reason that is beyond me it was packaged without any kind of hard layer or shell whatsoever...

I just got my replacement Miranda and once again the top 2 corners are bent and if we are supposed to get the same number as we did before they gave me the wrong number. I am really angry about this. I'm pretty sure this was and will be my final lithograph purchase if they are going to come damaged. I even asked if they could use foam or something else in when I was asking for a replacement. I don't even know if I should bother asking for a replacement if this going to happen again.

If I am paying 40+ shipping for a lithograph and there are only 500 they should be better packed and not all cardboard. I am truly disappointed in my experience with buying these. I understand they move around during shipping and stuff and they can't be held accountable for what happens during shipping.  Buying something I thought was cool turned out to be a real big disappointment and hassle.

Alright on the number thats not a bid deal for me.

Look how many people are complaining that they get their lithographs are getting damaged as well

I'm happy they are replacing these but there are still problems some that they can't control.

So you're saying it's ok to get damaged product and just be ok with it? If a product that is limited it should be better protected than just cardboard packed and hope it gets there undamaged I feel bad for the oversea people. I'm not trying to say they should sent it super ultra packed good that they would lose money on it but people shouldn't have to get damaged product they spent good money on and as I stated before I know some damage is out of there control.

I'm one of the overseas customers, and so far, only one lithograph was badly damaged. I admit that's also luck.

I've had none that are really badly damaged, but I'd say that as many as half the orders I've received have some damage, from fairly minor to significant, but the worst so far has been pretty borderline as to whether it warrants a replacement.

However, I am concerned at how many have turned up damaged since it's not unreasonable to expect that they'd all turn up in the same condition as when they were dispatched: I think it's in part because the Treehouse store's packers aren't following their own guidelines, and in part that somewhere along the chain of couriers there's a weak link where the parcels are being routinely treated very carelessly (or have been vandalised: I'm not the only person to suspect that some of the damage is more than accidental).  It's hard to say if the 40-50% figure I'm seeing is because I'm an international customer or if similar percentages are seen more locally too.

... and today, a lack of damage report: my second Kirkwall Gate arrived (I ordered another because I had to trim the first to fit my picture frame: a tip for anyone framing their lithographs, learn to use a tape measure with more skill than I managed!) and in spite of the rather delicate packaging, it was in pristine condition.  So that's two that have arrived undamaged.

But I agree with those who say that the packaging should be massively improved for the Kirkwall Gate lithos, such as using the heavy-duty cardboard tubes that are more commonplace: I think it was more luck than anything that these remained damage-free since the box was eminently crushable.

This and this again. The inconsistencies in packing really are a sod.... damage cant be helped but replacing isnt a solution.

I've not had any SUPER damaged, but about 70% have been bent in some way

I just opened my Tali-Grunt-Thane pack for framing. Upper right hand corner has a slight bend on all of them :(

I was surprised how they came shipped considering the Pride Demon I had ordered the same day came double boxed and seemed impossible to take damage that way. Was kinda disappointing to see the single thin box for the three pack after that.

My Miranda and Legion lithos arrived here in ZA. They where not taped to the hard backing. If this was done they would be 100%, but sadly they suffer a bit of bent corners. My mini litos arrived 100%, but they where also not taped, unless it was removed at customs.
