  • Be the hero and forge your own destiny. Storytelling comes to life
as “Fable III” puts you and your hero in the center of an epic journey
that traces your rise from revolutionary to ruler and beyond, along with
all the action, drama and humor. Interacting with the world of Albion
has never been easier or more rewarding. The Expressions system offers
an ingenious new Dynamic Touch feature that allows your hero to reach
out and embrace a loved one, or exact retribution against those who have
betrayed you. Your hero, your faithful canine companion and even your
weapons now also evolve to extremes mirroring your morality and personal
style of combat. The emotional connections players will develop in the
world of “Fable III” will lead to some of the most memorable moments
    ever experienced in a game.

  • Where blockbuster action meets adventure. Your journey spans from
the streets of a thriving and industrialized Albion to the surrounding
battlefields. The pioneering one-button combat system allows players to
easily combine different styles in their arsenal – hand-to-hand melee
attacks, long-range precision shooting and wickedly catastrophic spells –
to advance the one-button combat mechanic to a full scale, thrilling
level that offers infinite ways to engage, experiment and compete.

  • Choice and consequence. A core tenet of the “Fable” franchise,
players are presented with infinite choices and consequences that impact
the world around them. Good or evil, loved or loathed, career versus
family, or just you and your faithful canine companion – live the life
you have always dreamed. More so than ever before, your choices lead to
far more profound outcomes that impact your every being. Whether it’s
deciding the outcome of minor squabbles or changing the direction of the
entire kingdom, these key decisions will change the world forever.

Fable 3 had a very brief moment on the stage at E3 with only a trailer,
but it was a different story on the show floor with a fully hands-on
demo available for those in attendance. IGN had the opportunity to take the game for a test drive and it appears to be more than just a “Fable 2.5″.

Fable 3 had a very brief moment on the stage at E3 with only a
trailer, but it was a different story on the show floor with a fully
hands-on demo available for those in attendance. IGN had the opportunity to take the game for a test drive and it appears to be more than just a “Fable 2.5″.

You will play as one of two children. One who has gone on to rule
Albion with evil deeds in mind, and the other whose goal is to claim the
throne. Set around 50 years after Fable 2, you will be able to import
your saved games, but the data will be limited to your character’s
gender and decisions made in the second game. Selection lists have been
done away with for a 3D hub, where you will now be able to walk into a
dressing room to change your apparel by slipping it on rather than
selecting it from a list, same for equipping magic and weaponry. This
also goes beyond inventory management where you will now be able to walk
into stores and instead of purchasing items from a list, you can walk
into the shop where all the goods will be on display in shelves and you
can select them the

For the first time ever in a Fable game, your character will now have a
voice as opposed to being an adventurous mute like in the previous two
titles. Lionhead’s decision for this was to add more weight and dignity
to the story that they felt was missing from the previous entries. The
combat is more of the same from Fable 2, but more fluid. “Flourishes are
unleashed by simply holding down the attack button, and the action is
often underlined with cinematic swings and zooms of the camera,” says
IGN.

Might wanna clear that up a bit, some things showing that arguably shouldn't be there (e.g. the link to comments). Oh, and it's not an official thread, so you might want to change it to "Unofficial" ;)

But on-topic, I'm quite excited about Fable 3, even if I'm not going to be able to play it until towards the end of the year (PC!). I'm not too bothered about missing out on Fable 2 to be honest, and I just want some laid back fun.

I see the coded eror links and I am unable to edit it. It was simply just a wrong image that got posted. Now I fail to find that code but back to staying on topic.

You should certaintly try Fable 3. Fable 2 was a blast. The big thing there is the moral choices just like Bioware. But instead of the rich novel like storyline we come to know and love we are given a little bit more watered down game.

But it's fun non the less. In fable 2, you could make choices that would give you evil or good points. If you became evil. Your entire apperance became different looking more like a blood hungry demon and people feared you. You could get low cost at any market because of the fear. The cons is you had NPC on your tail anytime you did anything wrong. If you did not have the gold to pay them, they beat you down for it.

If you were good in Fable 2, you were faced with some harsh choices. The one I recall from memory is the one where you greet a demon and he wants a stone. You meet a stranger female there and you have a minute to decide if you hold on to the stone, making you old (it had some magic that made you appear like you were 90) or give it to the female and allow her to turn old

You also had to gain rep in order for some people to know more about you. The more quest/rewards you did the more actually people began to notice you in towns and gather around you. It's an action/adventure as far as the fighting it's pretty much hack and slash no complex methods.

Though the storyline is what pulls you in. The choice, moral good or bad and it affected the game. Not as much as Dragon Age Orgins but still pretty deeply. I think Fable 3 "race for the crown" with first half of the game focused on getting support for the crown and the other half being the king looks like a really good game.

Oh I forgot some people on here don't own XBOX360...you know you could buy one for 100 bucks now. The older ones. I decided to invest in an xbox360 purely for the "Fable 3" I almost bought a downgraded verizon of xbox360 a week before the expensive new 300 bucks one were set to release.

I know fable 3 is a xbox product. But I'd like to believe despite what console we use for me xbox360 and PC. That for me it's the enjoyment factor. Has to be tons of people drooling over this or it wouldn't have made the best sellers list on game stop

I feel I must disagree. The story in Fable 2 did not pull me in it was pretty crap. I enjoyed the game but the storyline was weak at best. I preordered Fable 3 tonight and I'm looking forward to it though.

Most people don't like Fable 2 so you're not missing out.  I'm not happy the PC version of Fable 3 was delayed with no release date at this point.

I'm picking up my Fable III Collector's Edition at the midnight launch on Monday. And probably Star Wars: Force Unleashed II, if I can stand parting with that much money all at once. I've enjoyed every Fable game so far, but if the disappearing spouse glitch from Fable II hasn't been resolved, I will rage like no man hath raged before. I was in the post-game when Lady Grey disappeared from my castle, and I was left with a message about "my child has been kidnapped, talk to your wife" flashing across the top of my screen every ten seconds. Of course, I couldn't resolve the quest. Fable also desperately needs multiple save files. What is this, 1985?

Other than being cheaper not really. However, by the time PC version comes out they're probably be about the same price.

Did they fix the only one save game issue? If they didn't I'm not touching this game with a pole.

Seriously the most epic RPG where you can play a bad ass King and you wouldn't touch it unless they touched up the save issue...I mean REALLY?

Some of us don't have that sort of money to put on a console for a handful of games, especially when we can get a lot more games for the price of the console alone.

After playing Fable 3 for a couple of hours I have come to the conclusion that this game is a terrible role-playing game.

Its a stellar action adventure game though. The sooner Lionhead cease referring to fable as a role-playing game, the sooner they will stop pissing everyone off.

I'm hoping to get my copy tonight. GAME emailed me yesterday saying it was on the way :D! I was going to get New Vegas instead but I played it at my friends house for about an hour and quickly lost interest, I'll probably buy it later on in the year.

I am leary of Fable 3 after playing Fable 2. The story was terrible. All of the new content that was added to increase the "depth" of the game from that of Fable 1 were little more than gimmicks that added nothing of depth whatsoever.

So I am not sure I will play Fable 3. I'll wait to hear what others have to say first at least.

If you go into Fable 3 or any Fable game looking for a great story then you are going to be disappointed but then I really thought people would know this by now? Try to enjoy the games for what they are not what you think they should be, Fable is the only game where I dont feel bad for beating up orphans and then cheating on my wife with the neighbor.

That being said I havent gotten very far as of yet as I am still trying to nut out how the hero weapons morph and what actions produce what results.

Uh....thanks for that.  Actually I thought the story in the first Fable, while not fantastic, was still miles beyond Fable 2.  I do enjoy the quirky fun aspects of the Fable franchise but I don't like gimmicks disguised and advertised as "indepth" gaming content.

Hello All,

Image IPB

Okay yesterday I just got done playing from noon to 2 am, the game Fable 3. Keep in mind I completed about half of the side quests and didn't spend much time on things that would made the game longer like working to make some gold.

Popular: Right now if you go to gamestop.com, you will see Fable 3 at the top on their list of Best Sellers, beating out Warcraft expansion pack, call of duty and the force unleashed 2. For the time being. So before I start let me say my post contains some spoilers so you have been warned

Moral Choices in Fable 3

Okay, this is what is really interesting. You spend the first half of the game trying to build up support to people to take the crown and you all promise them something different. However once your King the game doesn't stop. There is a new threat on your land. And you need gold.

Your placed on the Kings throne while two seperate people try to persuade you to their cause. The choices are hard because I believe one choice was to turn an orpange into a "sex for money" place. You would gain a huge bonus in gold or turn it into a place fo people without a home.

This is exactly what I have been wanting. What can we sit on Throne in Bioware expansion pack and made choices effected others etc. Some moral choices aren't as clear as day for example. A group of people are protesting outside the Kingdom. While your brother is still the king he bring's about four of them inside

He asks you to make a choice save the four workers or save your childhood love of your life. If you don't have an answer he will kill them all. Your childhood friend is saying Pick me to save the factory workers. Really one person is going get killed. I saved her and they ended up killing the factory workers.

Some choices really are a grey line. It seems there is no right or wrong. For example at the end of the game you have to build up a certain amount of gold for an incoming attack. You can be loved by your kingdom and give them everything they ask for, but the entire kingdom doesn't have money to fund the attack. Or you can be hated and protect the Kingdom

The most interesting choices are at the end. Where you sit in the throne and two people make a plea for something they want. Naturally I was good by nature but by every good moral investment I made in the Kingdom, the gold would lower untill I would be in the red.

You are supposed to be place on the throne by your group of supporters as a way to throw over your brothers rule. Now the promises you have been making for the first half of the game, might have to break a few in order to save your kingdom

Game Play

While playing instead of having four different spells you can cast at one time. You only had a single one. Mine for example was lighting. I found it more interesting then hack and slash while hack and slash pressing one button over and over was never appealing.

It seems a little clumsy in this game. Like he is swinging a weapon too large for his body tipping his balance to the side when he swings. Though it wasn't so unappealing that is ruined the game play for me. I used my magic spells most of the time. Making a circle around me of lighting.

I'm trying to figure out something I didn't like about the controls. But honestly maybe I would say the combat style is limited. You can swing the weapon two seperate ways or just tap one button and the lighting cast you could either cast it on one foe or several foes

In fable 1 and 2 compared to those games. I.e. in fable 1 you just hit "x" over and over repeatedly while fighting a foe. The bosses in fable 1 had a near insane amount of health and it took me maybe half an hour straight to kill one boss. In fable 3 the boss fights last around 12 minutes but doesn't mean they are not interesting

Storyline

You are the King's brother and you see what he is doing to your kingdom. As you escape the castle with two supporters. You enter into your first town where you meet a man bitter with the way your brother handled things. Saying his people need shelter and food and tax prices are too high. He says in order to prove you are a real hero you must complete three tasks.

Then once you complete his mission. You still gather support going to another place looking at first hand what your brother is doing. For example Kids are forced to work in the street. Taxs are too high and people are hungry. Striking an emotional cord with you.

Each of the people you have to help out are not at all the same. For one an example they are out in the middle of the desert. Before you meet them you wander into a dark cave. And dark creatures start whispering to you "You couldn't save them, they trusted you" in a deep demonic tone. Making you feel guility for past situations

While you meet another supporter in an underground place. The first half of the game is doing these quests and also you can take job quests. Everyone of them is unique at times a bit funny. For one job quest you had to find chickens while wearing a huge chicken outfit so they would follow you back in your pin.

For another quest you are asked to romance a woman, so that her husband will get her to divorce him( a plot lined by him) and then once you complete that mission. You are faced with moral choice, she says you can kill her husband and she will gain all the benfits of the money. Either kill him or leave

Other quests are too complex and quite funny to be able to post a detailed example of them because they are so unique. Not all quests or job quests make you battle insanse amount of foes for some they are quite funny

Now let's move to when you take control of the Throne. You have choice to either spare your brothers life or not. Once that is done you are placed in a throne room with dozens of other people while two seperate people make an arugment on what they need. The other person will dispute their claim and giving you the choice.

I think on the first day you had a total of four things you had to decide. Then the following day was three things, but the adventures are not over quite yet. You get a refreshing break by being able to still do one quest. For example one of the things were to capture a foe who had been making trouble. Allowing you to leave the throne room and go out for a while

I did not mind at all being able to sit in the throne room and make choices. It's interesting when two people place two seperate arugments up and expect you to be the person of reason. Not every choice is clear cut and if you stay good morally, then Kingdom could pay when the attack comes on.

In the final battle you face several foes of darkness. The ones who were whipsering taunting things to you back in the desert. Have returned to your kingdom and your final battle is with them. You can still play the game after it's complete. Some people will like you while others will dislike you for what choices you made and you can see the impact of your choices.

Image IPB

Graphics

I know this running a bit long so I wiil try to be brief. The graphics are pretty good. Better I believe then the first Fable 1 or 2 game. You no longer have to walk "town to town". You are can just pop in anytime you want at any city with the leg work but that's game play.

The graphics engine seem to be on the level of Fable 2, if not better then that. You can see they have done everything they can to make it as detailed as they could. For example ghost figures you can see right through them. When the people whisper you in the middle of the desert. An image of an old friend who died appears and he starts shouting while the darkness whispers in your head

Image IPB

I would say the graphics are great.

To wrap up this post. You no longer have to travel town to town on foot. They changed that. The game is interesting and fun. Not every quest is a hardcore boss fight but some are pretty funny and silly even. They did the quests thanfullley they did not take a serious tone with everything they did.

Some quests are heated but the game is pretty much laid back. The game just came out yesterday or on monday night for those of you who have been playing the game almost non stop. My next playthrough I will play a bit of a bad king and see what happens.

Though I can't take it upon myself to kill the childhood friend no matter how many times I will replay this. (Who would want kill their childhood friend over a bunch of unknown factor workers) Those will not agree with my post about the game. Some might even say it sucks.

That's fine but please don't be vauge. Detail what about the game that sucks. Or post what you did like about the game. Favorite quest, best moral choice, or boss fight. Anything you found interesting or unique. Not everyone will like everything about the game. However considering it's on gamestop's best seller list and the reviews on gamefly have bee so far good. I would say it's worth your money

I personally have been waiting almost a year since I know this game was coming out to play it and now it's here

edited: I try to find best screen shots I could. Remember this it's not out on PC yet. Just xbox360 just a bit harder to screen shot whats going on

My thoughts after my first play-through (no spoilers):

The weapon morphing system is VERY different to what I was expecting. Your hero weapon actually doesn't morph at all during game-play. The game keeps track of everything you do with the weapon and when you improve your melee or ranged skill, the weapon will morph instantaneously. You can only improve your melee or ranged skill 5 times, for a maximum of 5 morph opportunities. After the 5th morph stage, your weapon stops morphing.

The instant kill moves, or "finishers" are now random occurrences as opposed to perfectly timed reversals like in fable 2. As you improve your weapon skills, the finishing moves occur more frequently.
